- Karin Evans was born on September 25, 1907 in Johannesburg, South Africa. She was an actress, known for Pygmalion (1935), Der Kampf des Donald Westhof (1927) and Street Acquaintances (1948). She was married to Wolf Hoffmann. She died on July 1, 2004 in Berlin, Germany.

- South African-born actress of English-Welsh parentage (her father was a lecturer). She was trained for acting in Berlin at the Max Reinhardt school of the Deutsche Theater and had a successful career on the stage. Her film appearances ranged from supporting roles to occasional leads, frequently as eccentric or capricious characters. Arguably, one of her best performances was in the Defa production The Affair Blum (1948).
- She made her film debut in 1927 with "Der Kampf des Donald Westhof" (1927), her only silent movie. In the next years the film business kept a minor matter which had to submit to the theater.
- She also gave her special attention to the theater after the war and she often impersonated eccentric and strange characters.
