(June 1954) He composed music for William Shakespeare's play, "The Merchant of Venice," at the Library Theatre in Manchester, England with the Elizabethan Theatre Company that included Josee Richard, Tony Church, Frank Windsor, Colin George, Peter Jeffrey, Clifford Rose, Peter Ellis, Yvonne Bonnamy, and Deirdre Doone in the cast. Sir Peter Hall CBE was director. The crew included Anthony Waller (sets) and Malcolm Pride (costumes). The Company was under the artistic direction of John Barton, Colin George, Hugh Goldie, Sir Peter Hall CBE, and Toby Robertson.
