The second season of Netflix true crime show Dirty John focuses on the fraught and rapidly escalating feud between former married couple Betty and Dan Broderick. The two were married for many years and shared four children together, but Dan had an affair with his assistant Linda Kolkena, lied about it for years and eventually moved to divorce Betty.
Dan was a lawyer and his standing in the legal community made it very hard for Betty to get representation. Dan got custody of the children after Betty left them on his doorstep one night, and the divorce settlement eventually given to Betty was far less than she wanted – she had supported him while he was training to be a doctor and then a lawyer and taken care of their four kids, but in separation their assets were not divided equally at all.

Gracepoint, Episode 6, Season One, “Episode 6”
Written by Jason Kim
Directed by David Petrarca
Airs Thursdays at 9pm (Et) on Fox
“I need my anger right now Paul. It’s all I have left.”
As much as Gracepoint is about the mystery of who killed Danny Solano, it is also about the deadly paranoia that can infect a small town. “Episode Five” found Carver (David Tennant) and Ellie (Anna Gunn) stumbling upon more secrets and realizing that Jack (Nick Nolte) may very well be their most viable suspect. The final moments of the episode had his past arrest for statutory rape and his presence fifteen years earlier in a town that had a similar murder coming to light. But this episode is quiet except for a few acts of shocking violence.
“Episode Six” opens with a public spectacle through the center of town. As Ellie and Carver try to put a...

"Those guys didn't have any chemistry," said one particular freak. I could respond thoughtfully to those questions on an individual basis, but all three answers would have the same essence, which is: This movie is my emotional catnip, and any nay-saying reads like hieroglyphics to me. Brokeback Mountain is an Eddie Bauer outerwear catalog filled with pregnant pauses and angst, and I hyper-love it. From the opening bleat of its gorgeous score's guitar to the final line of dialogue ("Jack, I swear...
