James M. Dowaliby is an international producer and media executive, specializing in co-productions, often based on literary-based properties. He has broad expertise in original production and programming, international production and finance at two major film studios, a cable network, an international broadcaster and an international theatrical film distributor.

His current development slate includes five features: "Rise", "The Dean's Watch", "Lightkeeper", "The Iowa Baseball Confederacy" and "Night Flying". Television series include: "Anomaly", "Surrogates" and "Innocence Project". He recently completed his first two screenplays: "Rise" and "Night Flying".
Dowaliby has produced series and long-form television for both US and international markets and supervised productions in Australia, Canada, the Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, Netherlands, Poland and the United Kingdom.
He joined Paramount Pictures in 1998 to found the international production and co-production division of Paramount Television Group, the world's largest producer and distributor of television programming. During his tenure at Paramount, he built a $100 Million production slate including 3 one-hour series, 2 mini-series and 10 films for television. He launched projects with leading international broadcasters: the hit series "Largo" for M6 (France), Pro7 (Germany) and Global (Canada), the critically praised "Higher Ground" series for Fox Family Channel and WIC (Canada), the mini-series "Tribe" with the Seven Network (Australia) and the mini-series "Messiah" for the BBC, of which he was Executive Producer. He also brought the USA network's "Stephen King's Dead Zone" to Paramount.
He joined Paramount after setting up a development and production deal for Paramount Television Group with Yorkshire Television's in-house production company Griffin Productions, which he moved from Universal Television Entertainment. With Yorkshire, he executive produced two films "The Place Of Lions" (Yorkshire TV) and "The Human Bomb" (Showtime Network).
Previously, Dowaliby headed in-house production at The Family Channel, the sixth largest cable network in the United States reaching 80 million homes. As Vice President in Charge of Production, he supervised original telefilms, series, animation and specials for the $100+ Million production slate. His slate of original films included "Dad, The Angel & Me", "Tad", "Good King Wenceslas", and "Candles In The Dark" He was the Executive Producer (US) with Earl Hamner and Don Sipes of 44 episodes of "Snowy River: The McGregor Saga" along with three drama series . He also supervised the acclaimed animated "Madeline" series and "The Wind In The Willows" for the Channel.
Before joining The Family Channel, he was Chief Financial Officer of NorthStar Entertainment Group and Intercontinental Releasing Corporation, a founding member of the American Film Marketing Association. Dowaliby graduated from Yale University and holds a Master's degree from the Yale School of Management. He resides in Los Angeles, California.
