We were compelled to discuss Men on Boats written by Jaclyn Backhaus and directed by Will Davis at Playwrights Horizons because we loved it and because the audience's bizarre reaction at the performance Liz attended demanded a response. This is a mini-episode appreciating the brilliant creators and performers behind Men on Boats. Spoiler alert There are no men and there are no boats...

Susan Hayward. Susan Hayward movies: TCM Star of the Month Fiery redhead Susan Hayward it Turner Classic Movies' Star of the Month in Sept. 2015. The five-time Best Actress Oscar nominee – like Ida Lupino, a would-be Bette Davis that only sporadically landed roles to match the verve of her thespian prowess – was initially a minor Warner Bros. contract player who went on to become a Paramount second lead in the early '40s, a Universal leading lady in the late '40s, and a 20th Century Fox star in the early '50s. TCM will be presenting only three Susan Hayward premieres, all from her Fox era. Unfortunately, her Paramount and Universal work – e.g., Among the Living, Sis Hopkins, And Now Tomorrow, The Saxon Charm – which remains mostly unavailable (in quality prints), will remain unavailable this month. Highlights of the evening include: Adam Had Four Sons (1941), a sentimental but surprisingly...

Daniel Radcliffe’s latest announced role is the lead in Gold, which will explore the rivalry between Sebastian Coe and Steve Ovett
Daniel Radcliffe has done a good job of choosing projects following the conclusion of the Harry Potter series, if there has been one thing that has been lacking however is the type of role that will get serious awards season recognition (although, to be fair, he doesn't seem to be choosing his projects based on potential For Your Consideration adverts).
Still, the latest project he’s attached to you would have thought would put him in good stead in that regard, as he’s attached to play Sebastian Coe in Gold. Biopics, when done well, are usually magnets for awards season recognition after all.
The film's synopsis tells of Sebastian Coe being a quiet loner, 'driven to the limit of his endeavour by his ambitious father'.

Day two of the 2013 NFL Draft is in the books.
There were several big names that were still on the board once the draft kicked off its second day at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
By the time the day was over, more of those names did in fact come off the board.
One in particular drastically changed the culture of a franchise, and may have sent Mark Sanchez looking for packing boxes.
The results from Day 2 are as follows:
Round 2
No. 33: Jacksonville Jaguars- Jonathan Cyprien, S, Florida International
No. 34: Tennessee Titans (from Kansas City Chiefs through San Francisco 49ers)-Justin Hunter, Wr, Tennessee
No. 35: Philadelphia Eagles- Zach Ertz, Te, Stanford
No. 36- Detroit Lions- Darius Slay, Cb, Mississippi State
No. 37: Cincinnati Bengals (from Oakland Raiders)- Giovani Bernard, Rb, North Carolina
No. 38: San Diego Chargers (from Arizona Cardinals)- Manti Te’o,...

It's a tough job market out there, and watching movies tends to be an activity people flock to in order to escape from their daily troubles - if only for a couple hours. CBS Films thinks they've got a way to combine these two ideas in a comedy called Get A Job, to be directed by Dylan Kidd (Roger Dodger, "Children's Hospital"). The timely economic comedy has locked down a fantastic cast, including "Breaking Bad" star Bryan Cranston, Anna Kendrick, Project X's Miles Teller, Alison Brie, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Brandon T. Jackson, and our favorite "SNL" Denzel Washington impersonator Jay Pharoah. Deadline calls the film a multi-generational comedy about four recent college graduates who discover that their lofty expectations and the realities of adulthood don't match up. Teller plays Will Davis, who finds his true calling after grinding through an entry level position, while Kendrick will play Will's cheerful but by-the-book girlfriend.

It was in January when we told you that Dylan Kidd (Roger Dodger) would helm his first feature in some eight years, Get a Job, with a nice little cast of good-to-great performers already in mind. Now, though, Variety and Deadline have told us of the full lineup, and it’s actually better than initially thought.
Now, we can look forward to a main cast consisting of Bryan Cranston, Miles Teller (Project X), Anna Kendrick, Alison Brie, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse, among several others mentioted below. The logline (from a script by Kyle Pennekamp and Scott Turpel) is the same as last time out: “a multi-generational comedy about four recent college graduates who discover that their lofty expectations and the realities of adulthood are two very different things.”
A story as base and open for creative interpretation as that could go in so many different directions — great, terrible, often somewhere in the middle — thus,...

Ask, and you shall receive. If you build it, they will come. We're sure one of those phrases applies to "Get A Job," the first feature film in quite awhile from "Rodger Dodger" helmer Dylan Kidd.
First cropping up over a month ago with a bunch of names being eyed to join the film -- Miles Teller, Anna Kendrick, Bryan Cranston, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Jay Pharaoh -- well, it seems Kidd is getting his way. CBS Films has confirmed the earlier trade report with Teller taking the lead, and have added that all the above on board for the movie in addition to "Community" star Alison Brie and Brandon T. Jackson ("Tropic Thunder," "Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief"). If you're going to make a comeback after a long hiatus from feature filmmaking, you couldn't ask for a better cast.
