TORONTO -- The Quebec production sector Friday hired former Twentieth Century Fox executive Hans Fraikin to woo Hollywood producers to shoot in the province. Fraikin will serve as film commissioner with the Quebec Film and Television Council, charged with promoting the French-speaking province as both a foreign location and a source of financing and partnership for international co-productions. The Quebec Film and Television Council, formed late last year to deal with a sharp falloff in U.S. production in the province, also named Danielle Dansereau as executive director of the industry group.
