Sang the winning song for Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest in
1970. In later years she had an operation on her vocal cords which
affected her voice. She currently lives in Ireland (2007). She has also had a political career.
Held one of the Irish seats in the Parliament of the European Union (as an Independent) from 1999 to 2004. Failed to be re-elected in 2004.
She ran for the Presidency of Ireland in 1997 and 2011, garnering 13.8% and 2.9% of the vote respectively.
Dana's single "Crossword Puzzle" spent 5 weeks on the Bangkok HSA singles chart, peaking at #2 for two weeks on the 2nd and 9th September 1972. It was kept off the #1 spot by "Summertime Dreaming" by Gene Pitney.
