- Close friends with David Jason, Jason said he was deeply dedicated to his craft.
- Of all the shows David Jason did with Cosgrove Hall, he considered The Wind in the Willows (1984) classic, successful and the most exciting. He loved the cast Brian Cosgrove had managed to assemble, and believed Michael Hordern one of his heroes. He claimed he could never have stood on stage with him and done Shakespeare and been competitive.
- Before Cosgrove Hall settled on Dangermouse, the character was almost called Supermouse.
- David Jason named his daughter Sophie Mae after the girl from The BFG (1989) for Cosgrove Hall. He said the name had extra resonance for him, and the two sounded nice when put together.
- For The Wind in the Willows (1984), Cosgrove Hall wanted David Jason to play Ratty but he preferred Mr Toad. Everyone who had voiced Toad had made him unpleasant, but Jason made him a lovable showoff. After Jason recorded an audition, he got the part.
- An animator, his attic was also his home studio, his place to work away from work. He had a collection of old fairground slot machines in his basement.
- When former PM Tony Blair offered David Jason a knighthood, he suspected it was a prank, and considered it may have been Cosgrove. He later attended the after party for fifty people, where Jason took the opportunity to announce his second wedding, to rapturous applause and table thumping.
- He and his professional partner, Mark Hall, a friend from college, established Cosgrove Hall Productions, an animation company, in 1976 and retired in 2000. Their company is now called Cosgrove Hall Fitzpatrick.
- Has two daughters, Jennie and Laura.
- He was awarded the OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2018 Queen's Birthday Honours List for his services to the Animation industry in Nantwich, Cheshire, England.
