- Christopher is the son of Robert Hooks, actor / producer / founder of the prestigious Negro Ensemble Company and Nancy Carter, actress and founder of the first talent agency that only represented people of color - Natral Artists. He started his professional career at age five with a bit part on "The Richard Pryor Show". From age ten to sixteen Chris studied acting at Jane Fonda's performing arts summer camp, Laurel Springs, along with Troy Garity, Cole Hauser and Angelina Jolie. As a young actor Chris did a series of industrials for PBS and numerous commercials. His big break came in 1989 when he guest-starred on The Cosby Show. His closing scene with Dr. Cosby was recognized by the Museum of Television and Radio. Chris' highlights include: The Cosby Show, A Different World, Saved by the Bell, Hangin' with Mr. Cooper, Sister Sister and Boy Meets World. Chris and his father worked together with Redd Foxx on his last TV show The Royal Family. An accomplished voice-over artist, Chris was the lead announcer for the Disney Channel from 1991-1994. He went on to announce for ABC and the UPN network. Chris also writes and produces his own music and was set to sign with Death Row Records before that company disbanded. Chris left the business in the mid 1990's after he was diagnosed with bi-polar disorder. Today he is pursuing higher education.
