It's mind-boggling to think of how much has change in the world since The Wizard of Oz came out in 1939-- and even more astonishing to realize that there are people who witnessed all that change happening. One of the last living people to have walked down the yellow brick road, former Munchkin Mickey Carroll, died last week at the age of 89, taking one more piece of cinema history with him.USA Today ran a touching full report on the actor, whose only film role was in The Wizard of Oz, but who spent may of the last decades of his life making appearances and representing the Land of Oz. He also had a remarkably humble take on his own celebrity: "It's not me; it's the movie. When they see me, they think of their childhood, and it makes them smile."...

The family of the late Wizard Of Oz Munchkin Mickey Carroll is suing the former actor's caretaker for control of his estate.
Carroll, one of the last surviving Munchkins from the hit 1939 movie, passed away last Thursday, two months short of his 90th birthday.
The star, born Michael Finocchiaro, had been suffering from Alzheimer's disease and his relatives claim he was not mentally fit when he signed over control of his assets to carer Linda Dodge four months before his death.
Dodge looked after Carroll and his disabled nephew, who is wheelchair-bound with cerebral palsy, in her St. Louis, Missouri home.
Relatives are now seeking to win back the rights to his assets, which they estimate as worth more than $1 million (£667,000).
However, Dodge has dismissed the allegations, insisting it's simply a "family squabble".
