Studied music at the New England Conservatory with Adamowsky and
Frederick Converse, and at Fontainebleu & Paris Conservatory with Nadia
Boulanger, Caussade and Cortot. He made his duo piano debut with
Jacques Fray at the Salle Pleyel in Paris. His American debut was at
Carnegie Hall. With Fray, he had his own radio series for six years. He
conducted and arranged for, and soloed on, radio, and he toured in
"From Bach to Boogie Woogie" concert programs. During WW II, he
directed a radio program for the US occupational army in Africa and
Italy. Touring for two years with symphony orchestras in Gershwin
festivals as a piano soloist, he also toured Europe.
