- As noted in her prestigious obituary in the New York Times (May 21, 2020), Else's life story was the subject of the documentary Looking for Else (2007), which was written and directed by her grandson, Sandy Kopitopoulos. Sandy was the son of Else's "discovered" child, Lily--the daughter that teenage Else had been told had died, but had actually been secretly adopted 47 years before.
- Her second husband was the Danish-born, Oscar-nominated film editor Folmar Blangsted.
- In her teenage years as a German-Jewish refugee in Hollywood, Else worked as a maid and then a nanny for Warner LeRoy . Soon after she began working as a seamstress at Warner Brothers studio. And in her late 20s, before she launched her lengthy career as an award-winning Hollywood music editor, Else had a small, uncredited role in Cecil B. DeMille's Samson and Delilah (1949).
