- He has an identical twin brother named Bonar Bain
- He played the same character (Philip Drummond) in four different series: Diff'rent Strokes (1978), The Facts of Life (1979), Hello, Larry (1979) and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (1990).
- Conrad was said to be horrified when the young members of the Diff'rent Strokes cast started ordering the crew around, it got so bad he sat the young stars down and spoke with them.
- His identical twin, Bonar Bain, once played a fictional "evil" twin to Conrad ("Hank Bain") in the SCTV Network (1981) episode, Zontar (1981), and played his brother, Arnold Harmon, in the Maude (1972) episode, Vivian's Surprise (1977). Bonar went on to play a couple of roles in films on his own.

- One of the first people to greet Victoria Winters as she arrives in Collinsport in the first episode of Dark Shadows (1966) was innkeeper Mr. Wells, played by Bain. The actor returned to Collinsport for three more episodes over the years; in his final appearance, in 1968, Mr. Wells fell victim to a werewolf.
- In 2010, two of his co-stars died within a week of each other. Gary Coleman, who had played his adoptive son on Diff'rent Strokes (1978) died on May 28th, and Rue McClanahan, who had played his wife on Maude (1972) died six days later on June 3rd.
