Semyon Babayevskiy was born on 25 May 1909 in Russia. Semyon was a writer, known for Dream of a Cossack (1951). Semyon died on 28 March 2000 in Russia.
Back in the Stalin era in the old Soviet Union, Babaevskiy's writings
were acclaimed for their fidelity to "socialist realism." Babaevskiy's
most famous (infamous) novel, "Cavalier of the Golden Star," was
adapted for the screen by director Rayzman (Raizman) and the film
version, predictably, was a big prize winner under Stalin.
