A Vancouver homeowner is suing Courtney Love - saying she owes him more than $26,000 in rent. Lawyers for Peter Ashby filed a statement of claim in British Columbia Supreme Court on Thursday, saying Ashby agreed to lease his posh home to Love from April 20th - June 7th of this year. The singer-actress, who was in the Canadian city working on the movie 24 Hours, moved in April 22nd, but left the next day. She is now staying at a Vancouver hotel. When Ashby tried to cash two advance checks worth $6,000 each, he found the payments had been stopped, the suit said. Ashby is suing for the rent and damage deposit payments. He also wants compensation for his legal costs and interest. Love and two production companies also involved in the suit have two weeks to file a statement of defense.
