In 2006 he was awarded the Order of Distinction by the Jamaican government for his services to music.

His duo Bob & Marcia with Marcia Griffiths ended when he joined Bob Marley's backing vocalists The I Threes.
Began his career in the groups The Binders and The Paragons. He went solo in the mid 1960s charting the hits "I've Got To Go Back Home" and "Too Experienced.".
