During my brief tenure as a member of one of the nation's oldest a cappella groups, the 'Whiffenpoofs of Yale', I learned a shortcut. I call it 'fakeappella'. You keep your mouth very liquid, and when you get to a note and lyric that you are entirely sure of, you do to note and lyric what a flame thrower would do to a piece of Kleenex.
