Rajapandi asks Pandi to go to a marriage ceremony. While on the train, he met Bhuvana (Sneha), a cop's daughter in the other village, and after a sequence of events, romance blossoms between them. One afternoon, Bhuvana gives all the money she has on her person to Pandi and convinces him to take her out to lunch at a restaurant. After eating his lunch, he went outside to wash his hands and saw his sister and her boyfriend having a conversation. Pandi chases the motorbike on an auto, leaving Bhuvana stuck with the bill and no money, having given it all to Pandi. When Pandi eventually catches up with the boyfriend, the boyfriend tells him that they are seriously in love, and he is going to be coming over to their place with his parents to ask for her hand in marriage. Everything was going well until a couple days later, Sundarapandi wanted the money to buy the jewelry. Pandi's family receives a shock as Sivagami cannot find the money that they have saved up to pay for the wedding. Since Pandi is already a known troublemaker and has been to jail already, Sundarapandi blames Pandi and kicks him out of the house. This happens in front of Bhuvana, who has come to see where he has been the last few days and why he ran away at the restaurant. This incident with Sundarapandi accusing Pandi of taking the money has convinced her that he took her money the other day and ran and also just using her. In the end, it turns out that Rajapandi has run away from the house with his lover and with the money. Sundarapandi is consoled by Pandi, who borrows money from a private money lender and completes the wedding. Meanwhile, Pandi tries to make amends with Bhuvana, but she will not hear any of it. Sundarapandi, seeing the argument, went over and told Bhuvana the truth and how he misjudged his son and that is was not him that took the money. The following day, Sundarapandi went to Bhuvana's house to ask her father Periyamaayan (Ilavarasu) to fix a marriage between Pandi and Bhuvana. Periyamaayan, upon hearing this, gets furious. He is the local police inspector and knows all about Pandi's past. He refuses to marry his daughter to a criminal. Periyamaayan arranges a marriage for Bhuvana, but she went to Sundarapandi to say that she will die before marrying another person than Pandi. Pandi snatched Bhuvana from her house, takes her to the police station, and asks her father to approve of their marriage. Periyamaayan gets angry and says that Bhuvana is not his daughter anymore and that he will think his daughter eloped and lost. Pandi marries Bhuvana and as police protection, Periyamaayan watches her getting married. Determined to pay back the loan and help his family overcome their financial constraint, Pandi decides to go abroad and work as a conservancy staff. He manages to stabilize his family with his earnings. However, on his return, he is shocked to find his mother dead. Coming to know that it was no natural death, he decides to avenge the killers. He finds that Sundarapandi's colleague hired a killer to kill him, and his mother died, as a result. He beats him up and when Pandi take a knife to kill him, he then refused knowing his duty towards his family and decides to leave it in hands of law.

Instead of sentencing them, the court sends them to the Madurai Gandhi Museum for help, where they meet a college student named Meenakshi (Anjali). After he is discharged, Sathya starts a job as a henchman. VBR (Manivannan), a villainous former minister, sends him to steal a confidential file containing vital evidence on the death of the collector Leelavathi (Sukanya) at Udhayamoorthy's place. While he is stealing the file, Udhayamoorthy is killed by Sathya. While dying, Udhayamoorthy blesses Sathya by saying "Vazhga Valamudan" (Long Live). These last words haunt Sathya, and, filled with remorse, he vows to carry on Udhayamoorthy's good work. He gathers evidence to discover the murderer of Leelavathi, even as VBR burns the documents to destroy the evidence. Sathya continues with his task of exposing VBR, and adopts Gandhian principles of non-violence and peaceful Satyagraha. Ezhumalai (Napolean) is a police inspector who vows to avenge the death of his brother, Udhayamoorthy. He thinks that Sathya had killed him, although he later finds out that he didn't. Sathya sits near the Gandhi statue and follows his examples of non-violence, confident that VBR will be arrested. VBR surrenders himself to police and is arrested. The film ends with Sathya and Meenakshi reuniting.

Madumitha makes a coquettish play for all of Muniyandi's friends, but hits it off with him first. Following a heated skirmish in the caste-dominated college elections, the two fall in love. Or so you think. Also part of the mix is Sorimuthu Ayyanar (Vadivelu), who raises some laughs as the local witch-doctor, complete with bells and saffron cloth regalia. But everything goes topsy-turvy when, once Madumitha's marriage is arranged, she turns around and says that she was never in love with Muniyandi in the first place. Furious, the guy thrashes her with his slippers and sets fire to her father's coconut grove. It is little things like these that set this movie slightly apart from others in the same genre; the hero and heroines come across as genuine characters, angry, sad and sorrowful. Madumitha is no slinking pathetic thing either; she gives back as good as she gets. But its time for the caste card to be played again and as Muniyandi discovers the secret behind his brothers death.

So when he grows up, he becomes a big rowdy by the name of Thotta (bullet). The highly corrupt police officer DCP Murugavel (Sampath Kumar) also uses him for a lot of encounters for which he takes credit and gets promoted to commissioner level. In one incident where he is asked to put acid on a girl Nalina's (Priyamani) face, he finds that girl to be the auto driver's daughter itself in her house. He helps that family, which is in poverty, with lot of gifts and also loves her. Nalina's aim is to become a police officer and she tells this to Shanmugham. As he has commissioner influence, he promises to get her the job. For this he kills a minister who is a big rival of the chief minister (Livingston) at the instance of Murugavel. But when Nalina goes to Murugavel for the job, the latter insists that she have sex with him. When Shanmugham finds out what happened, he and Murugavel part ways. Shanmugham has a friend Giri, who is also a rowdy, but gets him married to a nice girl Gauri (Mallika). She wants to separate him from this rowdy group and get settled, for which she tries not to send him for their encounters. After much thought, Shanmugham lets them go separately. But Murugavel kills Giri in an encounter. Prabhakar (Saranraj), a CBI officer, wants to get Shanmugham alive, whereas Murugavel wants him killed, otherwise he would be in deep trouble as he was the one who made Shanmugham a rowdy after all. In the meantime, Swetha (Diya), the sister of commissioner of police Ravichandra, has been ditching her college classes, so her father has a police eccort take her to school. When she tries to escape from her escort, they pursue her. They cross paths with the troublesome Prabhu, who battles them. In the ensuing fight, Prabhu says 'I love you' to Swetha and she is so impressed by his gallantry, she falls in love. Prabhu then learns that his foster parents are taking him to meet his real father Lakshmi Narayana (Satyaraj) who had been receiving treatment in a mental hospital. He tries to speak with his father, but the man is unresponsive. On the advice of Swetha's father, he takes his father to Kerala for treatment. When there, he meets a former bodyguard of Lakshmi Narayana who tells him that not only was his father the former Election Commissioner, but that his current mental breakdown state was caused by local politician Ramadasu (Vijayan). Coincidentally, Ramadasu has been brought to that same Kerala facility by his own son (Riyaz Khan). When Ramadasu's son learns that his father's former enemy Lakshmi is still alive, he attempts to kill him.

While they ask the public around the streets about Dhanam a flashback breaks out. The story goes five years back from the present day. Ananth (Prem), a young student from a Hindu Brahmin family based in Kumbakudam comes to Hyderabad to study medicine. There he meets Dhanam. He falls in love with her and begins to follow her for several days. She suspects that Ananth came to her to do business and takes him to her place. They both have sex for money and this begins to happen frequently. One day Ananth opens up his feelings to her, but she refuses his propose, let the public in the street beat him up and walks away. Dhanam's close friends tell her to stop living as a prostitute and start over her life by live with Ananth. They both meet at a temple and have an argument. Dhanam finally comes with a decision that if Ananth's family accept her she will marry him. The next day they both go to Kumbakudam to visit Ananth's family. After hearing that Dhanam is a prostitute and that Ananth wants to marry her, his family refuse to accept the marriage. A priest named Vedhagiri (Rao) who is a good family friend of Ananth's family forces them to accept the marriage by telling them that the horoscopes match. The family immediately go to Hyderabad and arrange everything for the marriage. They both get married the next day. This is a trap by Vedhagiri. Vedhagiri who had earlier asked Dhanam in Hyderabad to have sex for money uses this situation to get closer to Dhanam, but she tells him to stay away. Some days later, Ananth and his family ask her why she began with prostitution. She says that her mother used to be a prostitute. Dhanam was the only child for her. Her mother wanted her to not follow her tracks and kept her as virgin. One day when her mother was very ill, a man fooled Dhanam by saying that he will take her to the hospital so that they can bring the doctor home, but raped her on the way. She began to have sex for money to save her sick mother, but unfortunately her mother died some days later. Since Dhanam was too young and she did not have anyone to take care of her, she began with prostitution and settled down in Gandhi Theru. After hearing this Ananth and his family could understand her pain and ask for apology for not understanding her earlier. The next day Dhanam gets pregnant. During her pregnancy Vedhagiri tries to make a deal with Dhanam, but she refuses again. This begins to happen often. Dhanam keeps this secretly from her husband and in-laws because they have a lot of respect for him. Dhanam later gives birth to a baby girl. After the birth, the family begins to go through a hard time. They ask Vedhagiri to check the horoscope and find out why this happens. Vedhagiri says that the time the baby was born was not good. He says that the baby has to die or everyone in the family will die within a year. The family keep this secret for Dhanam and kill the baby by feed it with poison. Some days after the death of her child, Dhanam finds out that her in-laws were behind of the murder. Dhanam who saw her daughter as her mother, becomes stressed and Grieves over her dead baby. The flashback ends with that Dhanam killing her husband, her in-laws and Vedhagiri by give them food with poison. The cop and his assistant go to the cop and the judge who closed the case of the murder of Dhanam's husband, her in-laws and the priest and have a conversation about the case. The cop and the assistant asked the cop and the judge about their opinion. They both said that Dhanam is innocent. She just showed the anger a mom has. The film ends with that the cop and the assistant close the case and let Dhanam go.

But comes to know her real intentions and the trouble she is facing. He masterminds a plan and joins the gang selling drugs and eventually exposes them only to save Malathy.

Slowly, at regular intervals, this narration continues as everyone on the large household joins one by one to hear Mahesh's love story. Finally, on the day of Keerthana's marriage, a twist in the story happens as Mahesh is forced to confess the climax of his love story. When he was leaving, Saranya was brutally murdered by a rowdy. Mahesh goes after the rowdy and hacks him to death. Before he went to jail, he wanted to see Keerthana married. After the marriage, Mahesh turns himself to the police.

Venkat then arrests a funeral dancer (Manimaran) who had a fight with Subbu in a public place and a dumb pickpocket (Chengalpattu Maaran) but soon, he realises that they are innocents. His investigation leads to Subbu's wife Mohini (Sona Heiden), and she reveals him everything. Subbu was a lofty film director who struggled to deliver a hit film, he was known for being short-tempered and getting into trouble easily. With his entire focus centred on his profession, he failed to take care of his sexually frustrated wife Mohini. When the college student Vinoth (Ashish) entered into his house for the stay, Sona and Vinoth became closer thus having an illegal affair. When Subbu came to know about the affair, he was devastated and stepped out of the house. Later, an eye witness admits that he has seen Subbu having a fight with Nizam Ali (Sanjith) the night of the murder. When the police chase him, Nizam Ali dies in a motorbike accident. The lack of further clues means that the murder investigation came to a dead end and the murder case remains unsolved.

Anandhi proposes to Vasan, but he refuses to accept her love. When she insists him to accept her, he makes a mockery about her feelings. Anandhi is deeply hurt. She is shocked to see Vasan, who approaches life just as a bunch of experiments to gain varied experiences. She feels cheated and humiliated. Later on, Vasan realizes the dormant love within him and comes back to Anandhi, but she is not ready to accept him. She cannot believe that he can get into real love. Her dejection and conviction are too strong to consider his change. Now, Vasan challenges that Anandhi would make her love him, and she accepts the challenge. The emotional game between them leads to an unpredictable climax.

In the past, Azhageshwari and Sathya fell in love with each other. Sathya's father Gounder (Rajeev) was against their love and they decided to secretly get married, therefore, Gounder disowned Sathya. The couple moved to a different village, they bought a house called "Azhagu Nilayam" and they had a boy named Saravanan. One day, for his election campaign, Vanamamalai came to their village and he fell under the spell of Azhageshwari. The night, Vanamamalai, Bhaskar and Mohankumar entered their house. They beat up her son and her husband, they brutally raped Azhageshwari, and they set on fire Sathya and their house. Azhageshwari and her son managed to escape. Her son became mentally ill and is living in a mental asylum while Azhageshwari changed her name to Bharathi and became a club dancer to support her son. After killing the boxer Bhaskar and the police officer Mohankumar, Azhageshwari eventually kills Vanamamalai during a function and S. P. Rajakumari shoots Azhageshwari dead but before dying, she begs S. P. Rajakumari to take care of her son.

Overwhelmed by her lover's death, Radha becomes mentally disturbed and she dies by falling from the balcony.

When Vishwa finally sees Adhisaya Raj's photo, Vishwa refuses to kill him and tells her that Adhisaya Raj has saved his life after a bike accident one day. Vishwa with his lover Kamala and Adhisaya Raj with Kamala's father meet up in a remote place for the exchange. Adhisaya Raj cheats them and his henchmen surrounded Vishwa. They beat up Vishwa, put him in a coffin and bury him alive. An angry Vishwa came back to the house and beats Adhisaya Raj up. During the fight, Vignesh who was Vishwa's college enemy shoots Adhisaya Raj dead to save Vishwa. The film ends as Vishwa and Kamala embrace.

Many years ago, Dileep went to Ooty for his vacation but since the hotels were fully booked for the busy season, he decided to stay in an abandoned mansion. There, he talked to the spirit of Seetha (Saritha), he learned that her brother Bhaskar sold her to the filmmaker Ravi. Ravi attempted to rape her and killed her. Her ghost then murdered her brother and emasculated Ravi. Afterwards, Dileep went every year to the mansion to talk to Seetha's spirit and they became good friends. When Dileep fell in love with Vanitha, he knew that it was impossible to change her mind so Dileep lied to Seetha that he loved her. Dileep wanted to sleep with Vanitha so he forced Seetha to enter her body. When Seetha knew about his perverse intention of raping Vanitha, she saved Vanitha on multiple occasions and threatened Dileep to kill him. Back to the present, Seetha enters Dileep's body and makes him commit suicide.

Thereafter, Karthik, Arun, and Vijay are mysteriously murdered one by one. The killer turns out to be Sakthi. In the past, Sakthi and his sister (Hemalatha) were ill-treated by their greedy stepmother (Gowthami Vembunathan). His sister had to prostitute herself to pay his college fees. When he returned to his native village, Sakthi found his sister having sex with another man and was shocked. Sakthi later killed the man and slowly turned into a psychopath who could do anything for money. In the forest, Sakthi faked his own death with the help of Jayasurya. He then killed Jayasurya and started killing his friends one by one. Sakthi finally murders Jennifer and then reveals everything to the lone survivor Vasanth. In the meantime, Shankar comes to the forest with Sakthi's sister in order to steal their money. During the fight, Sakthi manages to kill Shankar, and his sister tries to convince him to stop his killing rampage. Sakthi, who is in a psychotic state, does not listen to her and tries to kill Vasanth. Sakthi's sister has no other choice but to kill Sakthi.

The police then frees Vandana, and she reveals that the fake church father is the killer; thus, the church father is arrested. Nandakumar and Vandana live happily ever after.

Jinda tracks down Jeeva, and he stops Jeeva killing Kiran. Jinda tells Kiran that she is immoral and a disgrace to humanity, then he chokes her to death right in front of Jeeva.

It suddenly swells to Rs. 30 Lakhs and reaches Rs. 70 Lakhs. That is when Subramaniam realizes that this is no mere coincidence. Someone was smartly using them as a pawn to cover up for other more serious activities. They were being used as the 'third man', a pretty common term in criminal parlance. Before they realize, all of them are caught in the web that was laid out. Who laid it out, how and why and do they eventually come out of it forms Alibaba. Subramaniam comes to Velu's rescue and manages to find the reason behind it. When the family begins to find out the reason behind this act, it results in bloodshed and gore, eventually ending up in Velu coming across the killers of young women in the city.

She smells a rat and says so to Raj who blames all the bad occurrences on a ghost that supposedly haunts a bungalow that they lived in and how that ghost still continued to haunt that place terrifying people in its vicinity at very particular times every day. Being a police officer, Malavika is not fully convinced and wants to get to the bottom of the matter. She just about begins to get her teeth into the matter when the evil powers at work bring about her death after a rather fearsome encounter with ghostly creatures. Now, it is left to Malavika, the daughter to find out the truth. Now enters another character claiming to be the lover of Raj's daughter. His revelations make matters far more complicated and confusing. The matter is thrown wide open and the jigsaw becomes harder to piece together. They discover the death of far more people than they had even thought of and trace it all down to the haunted bungalow. How they get to the bottom of what or who haunts the big house forms an interesting climax.

Later she meets him and sends him a note to take a head scan, which leads to hilarious scenes as his assistant 'Tyre' (Ganja Karuppu) thinks it is a love letter. But as always after the initial spats and quibbles, both Vel and Manju are deeply drawn towards each other. One day while they are romancing on the back of an empty but moving lorry, they are intercepted by Mariadas. All hell breaks loose for the lovers as Manju is brutally beaten up by her dad as her mother Stella (Saranya) tries to protect her. A distraught and drunk Vel on the advice of Tyre and other lorry drivers go to her house in the night asking for her hand, which leads to bedlam. Three days later, a sobered Vel goes to her house to apologise and finds that they have left town and Mariadas has resigned from customs and just disappeared. How Vel finds her whereabouts and goes to Pune in search of her and undergoes real tough times is what the rest of the film is about.

The two families turn foes because of the local MLA, who is corrupt. The MLA wants to get rid of Rajendranath, who commands respect in the constituency. He gets close to Aaruchami, who is jealous of the respect commanded by Thangam and his family. The story has many twists and turns. Aaruchami, a compulsive womanizer, woo Thangam's sister and makes her pregnant. Thangam, who is mad of his sister, makes Aaruchami marry him. Aaruchami commits a murder but Thangam accepts the responsibility and go to the jail to save Aaruchami, to make the marriage of his sister possible. Later, the relationship between the families is affected further with Mahadevan revolts against Rajendranath to make his son Aaruchami as MLA. In the process, he commits a murder and gets punished. The battle gets worsened. Rajendranath and Bhagyalakshmi are killed. The rest of the story narrates how Thangam avenges for the murders.

The engineering student Chandru skipped his classes to meet Thulasi in her law college and posed as an apprentice lawyer, they eventually fell in love with each other. Meanwhile, Pulipandi (Madhan), Arumugam and Mohan formed a small gang: they eve teased the college girls, ragged the boys and smoked ganja in the college. Afterwards, the straightforward Thulasi quarrelled with the three men for not respecting the college rules. One day, they eve teased Thulasi and she made them arrest by the police. Rubesh now knows that Pulipandi is the next victim but Thulasi kills him too. Rubesh finally arrests Thulasi for killing three persons. In court, Thulasi confesses that she was the murderer and didn't feel guilty of killing them. A few months ago, when Thulasi came to know about Chandru's lies, she first felt revolted but then, Thulasi forgave him. They were eventually engaged and the day before their wedding, Thulasi was abducted by the three men and they brutally raped her. A physically and mentally weakened Thulasi returned the next day, but Chandru refused to marry her because she lost her virginity and was "impure" for him. Following this incident, her parents committed suicide. Thulasi decided to use her body as a weapon: she seduced the three men and had sex with them to gain their confidence. A vengeful Thulasi killed them cruelly and cut their private parts in due course. Thulasi then abducted Chandru and as he humiliated her for losing her virginity, she raped the virgin Chandru. In court, Thulasi mourns that the women are ill-treated by society for being raped and the judge sentences her to the death penalty.

The two friends, behind the wheel of a stolen car, head to Kodaikanal, a delightful hill station and a perfect place to hide from the police. In the meantime, the film actress Brinda (Poorna) is attempted to be kidnapped by her film financier (C. M. Bala) but she manages to escape. Her greedy mother (Vadivukkarasi) and evil uncle (Kandeepan) will get paid a lump sum if she sleeps with the financier. Without money and exhausted, Brinda reaches Kodaikanal, however, her uncle and his gang are after her. Later, Surya finds Brinda unconscious near a river and he brings her to the stolen car. Brinda who wore skin-darkening makeup and tribe clothes poses as a nomad girl. Surya and Brinda slowly fall in love with each other. Thereafter, the police find their hiding place and are chasing them again in driving rain. During the escape, the rain removed her make-up and Surya is stunned to see Brinda's true face. The three take refuge in an abandoned house and Brinda then tells them about the suffering she has endured when she was with her mother and her uncle. Surya and Brinda, who got to know each other better, subsequently get married with the blessings of Nandha in the house. Her uncle finally found their place thus he beats up Surya and tries to abduct Brinda. To save them, Nandha plunges into the void with her uncle and both died. The film ends with Surya and Brinda, in tears, cremating their friend.

Aravind gets acquainted with Chandramouli and they befriend, the old man turns out to be Aarthi's grandfather. One day, his uncle steals Chandramouli's car in order to help Aravind. Chandramouli is deeply shocked by the theft, he has a heart attack and is admitted to the hospital. Aravind then brings him back the car and Chandramouli is cured. Aravind professes his love to Aarthi and Aarthi eventually reciprocates his love. Their respective family accept to marry them. In the meantime, the gangster Thamba (O. A. K. Sundar) is hired to kill a politician. That night, in the middle of the road, Thamba and his henchmen waited to attack the politician's car. Aravind and Aarthi travel by motorbike and Aravind's motorbike break down, he decides to go to the mechanic shop and Aarthi waits for his return. Thamba who doesn't want to wreck his plan asks Aarthi to move but she refuses and an angry Thamba beats her up. When Aravind sees his girlfriend in danger, he gets dizzy and runs away. He then returns and trows toward Thamba a molotov cocktail, Thamba is disfigured by the attack and he escapes with his henchmen. Aarthi, still shocked by the incident, is disgusted by Aravind's cowardness and refuses to marry him. Thereafter, a vengeful Thamba brutally stabs Aravind on the street and Chandramouli who happened to pass by takes him to the hospital. In the hospital, Aravind's mother explains to Chandramouli and Aarthi why Aravind behaved like this that night. In the past, Aravind was a cheerful and brave child in a remote village. One day, he witnessed his teacher being stabbed and burned alive by a rowdy in his classroom. Aravind was traumatized by what he had seen and developed posttraumatic stress disorder. Back to the present, Thamba is involved in land grabbing and forces an orphanage to give him their land. On Independence Day, Aravind, Aarthi and their family are invited to celebrate it with the orphan kids. Thamba and his henchmen start to beat up the participants including Aravind. Aravind begins to lose consciousness but the encouragement of his well-wishers gives him the boost to hit back and he beats them up.

Later, Sanjini tells Bharathi that she considers him like a brother and she ties a rakhi around his wrist thus Bharathi symbolically becomes her brother. Bharathi slowly becomes obsessed with finding the woman who loves him. Roja (Swathi), a childlike woman full of joy, spends her time roaming with her friends and Bharathi begins to suspect her of being his secret lover. Roja reveals to Bharathi that she is in love with her relative Pulipandi (Ponnambalam), an ex-convict. Roja and Pulipandi then get married and they leave Munnar. When he returns home, Bharathi finds a letter telling him to come to an isolated place. Bharathi comes across a middle-aged woman (K. R. Savithri) and she tells him that she was the one who has written the letters. She also reveals that she is the mother of Devi and tells him everything. A few months ago, Devi (Akhila) attended the nurse interview and Bharathi who interviewed her praised her for her well-thought answers. Devi instantly fell in love with Bharathi. Devi was a young woman living with her parents and elder sister in the estate. She first told it to her family and they accepted for the marriage. One day, Devi had an epileptic seizure and was admitted to the hospital, the doctors revealed that there was no treatment to cure for epilepsy. Her father then died of a heart attack and her mother decided to support her love at any cost. Thereafter, Devi and her mother decided to meet Bharathi but during the drive, they had an accident and Devi was heavily wounded. Back to the present, Devi's mother begs him to forget her but Bharathi looks forward to finally see her. Bharathi goes to their place and finds Devi in a pitiful state: Devi has wounds all over her body and has developed an unusual behaviour. The film ends with a weeping Bharathi taking Devi with him.

In the meantime, her uncles want Visa to marry their relative Maruthupandi (Karate Raja), a hot-blooded village brute, after she finished her studies. When Meenakshi comes to know about their love affair, Meenakshi doesn't allow her daughter Visa to go to school. Surya is worried about Visa and he meets her in her house. Meenakshi then threatens to commit suicide if she cannot keep the promise she made to her uncles and Visa finally accepts to forget him. The next day, she insults Surya and begs him to forget her. A distraught Surya attempts to commit suicide but he is saved by his friends. Balan decides to talk to her family in Madurai for his son's marriage but they refuse and are hell-bent on saving their family's prestige. Thereafter, the two families have a verbal fight in Chennai, the two lovers begin vomiting blood and faint on the spot. They are rushed to the hospital and the two families accept to arrange their marriage if they survived. Surya and Visa were, in fact, faking their suicide. The film ends Surya and Visa returning to school and eagerly waiting for their marriage.

One day, Vijay saved Jennifer (Naash), a soft-spoken and shy woman, from rowdies who tried to misbehave with her and they fell in love with each other. Later, Vijay introduced Jennifer to his friends and his father but they couldn't see her. The psychiatrist concludes that Vijay felt into depression and he is now suffering from pseudohallucination: Vijay thinks that Jennifer is real. The psychiatrist tells his father that the only way to cure him is to find him a woman who looks like Jennifer. Naash, a model who looks exactly like Jennifer, comes across Vijay's friends and they beg her to help their friend but she refuses and makes fun of them. Thereafter, Vijay's friends then kidnap her and sequester her in a bungalow, they then bring Vijay to live with her. As the days go by, Naash has no other choice than to act as Jennifer to escape from the place but Vijay eventually finds out that she is not Jennifer and Vijay tells her that his love is pure. The film ends with Naash falling in love with Vijay.

Pari Vallal worked in a remote village to exercise his profession. He met the orphan Sara (Meera Vasudevan) who grew up in a church and she decided to assist him, they fell in love with each other and got married. In 2008, during the annual death ceremony of Pari Vallal in Kodaikanal, an injured Joshua Prakash (Anoop Kumar) appears and proclaims to be the dead doctor Pari Vallal in his previous birth. Sara, Pari Vallal's widow who now lives with her adopted daughter Kabini, is astonished and could not believe it. The inhabitants who think it was a practical joke beat him up and tie him with a rope to control him. The next day, Mallika (Poornitha) comes to the village and claims to be Joshua Prakash's wife. After their marriage , Joshua Prakash claimed to be Pari Vallal and told that his parents locked him in a room for 12 years. The villagers first cannot believe him, but his perfect recollections of Kodaikkanal and its inhabitants baffle many. The psychiatrist Elangovan (Thalaivasal Vijay), Pari Vallal's brother, then interviews him and confirms that Joshua Prakash is Pari Vallal. Annoyed by her husband's eccentric behaviour, Mallika decides to leave the place but Joshua Prakash confesses that he loves her and he wants to get a hold of the money hidden by Veeraiyyan. The police commissioner Chandrabose and his team track Joshua Prakash down and abduct him in a cabin in the wood. They force him to show the place, they then find Thennavan's corpse and Sara with the rifle threatens to kill them. In 1988, Chandrabose, his squad and the brigand Veeraiyyan were in fact partners in crime. Chandrabose and his squad then double-crossed Veeraiyan and killed the former minister, Veeraiyyan who tried to escape was shot in the back. An injured Veeraiyyan begged Pari Vallal to save him and told him the place where he had hidden the money but Thennavan killed Pari Vallal and Veeraiyyan died from his injuries. In 2008, Joshua Prakash reveals that he is not Pari Vallal's rebirth but the son of the former minister who was killed by them. With Sara, he has planned to take revenge on Chandrabose and his squad. Joshua Prakash and Sara eventually kill them, Joshua Prakash then tells her to keep the money. The film ends with Joshua Prakash and Mallika adopting Kabini and leaving the village.

Upon his arrival, the school teacher is intrigued to see the villagers gathered in front of a large house. The village cartman (Periyar Dasan) tells him that the old man Elango, who is the village leader and respected by people, is between life and death, and the cartman the village tells the man's life story. In the past, Sundaravadanam (Sivachakravarthi) was a rich village chief, whom the villagers held in high esteem and he loved his village as much as his family. Being Sundaravadanam's eldest son, Elango (Vignesh) had a lot of responsibilities and followed in his father's footsteps. Sundaravadanam was against love marriage, for him the family honour came first and he only believed in arranged marriage. Elango then fell under the spell of the bubbly girl Sandhya (Varshini), daughter of the local temple priest (Dhadha Muthukumar). Elango declared his love to Sandhya, after initial refusal, she reciprocated. Sundaravadanam, who punished so many lovers before, found that hard to swallow that his own son was in love. Sundaravadanam then humiliated Sandhya's father in public. Instead of eloping, Elango decided to argue with his father to convince him to accept for the marriage. Sundaravadanam and Elango's mother Kamala shocked by the words of their son died of heart attack. Elango was obliged to become the new village chief as per the village's rule. The villagers then beat up Sandhya and her father for tarnishing the image of the village. Sandhya and her father left the village, but before Sandhya left, she told to Elango that her love was pure and faithful. Elango then remained single, he worked hard for the good of his family and village. Back to the present, Sandhya arrives to see his aged lover Elango who is battling for life. Sandhya remained single, she loves Elango so much that she will not marry another man. The film ends with Sandhya feeding cow's milk to Elango (Thalaikoothal) to end his sufferings and they both die.
