- DirectorJames WanStarsCary ElwesLeigh WhannellDanny GloverTwo men awaken to find themselves on the opposite sides of a dead body, each with specific instructions to kill the other or face consequences. These two are the latest victims of the Jigsaw Killer.Nostalgic movie. I've watched it so many times over the years, and personally I think all of the low budget elements adds to the appeal (I really like how 2 film students managed to make such a unique succesfull film in the way that Leigh and James did)
- DirectorDarren Lynn BousmanStarsTobin BellShawnee SmithAngus MacfadyenJigsaw abducts a doctor in order to keep himself alive while he watches his new apprentice put an unlucky citizen named Jeff through a brutal test.I watched this film when I was 12 and was traumatized by the traps, so I just started saying I hated it. On rewatch I think it's pretty much as good as the original. The story is heartbreaking, and it serves as a perfect ending to the John Kramer trilogy.
- DirectorKevin GreutertStarsTobin BellShawnee SmithSynnøve Macody LundA sick and desperate John travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable.Possibly the most disgusting saw movie in terms of gore, but also possibly the best story in Saw and the best handled emotion & fitting dark humor.
- DirectorKevin GreutertStarsCostas MandylorMark RolstonBetsy RussellAgent Strahm is dead, and FBI agent Erickson draws nearer to Hoffman. Meanwhile, a pair of insurance executives find themselves in another game set by Jigsaw.I think this movie is a little cheesy at times, and I don't always buy the mistakes that Hoffman makes while trying to cover up his tracks. But the story and message is great, and the traps are some of the most memorable for me personally.
- DirectorDarren Lynn BousmanStarsDonnie WahlbergBeverley MitchellFranky GA detective and his team must rescue 8 people trapped in a factory by a man known as Jigsaw. The story of Saw 2 is using a pretty standard template for a horror sequel: Bigger, badder and gorier. Despite that though, I feel like this is the movie where Tobin Bell gets to shine the most in the role, and the needle pit will forever haunt my dreams.
- DirectorDavid HacklStarsScott PattersonCostas MandylorTobin BellFollowing Jigsaw's grisly demise, Mark Hoffman is commended as a hero, but Agent Strahm is suspicious, and delves into Hoffman's past. Meanwhile, another group of people are put through a series of gruesome tests.I've always liked this movie a little more than most people seem to. Most of that comes from me really liking both Hoffman and Agent Strahm. I also feel like the trial of the fatal five is pretty engaging. Unfortunately I don't like the ending at all, but I still would rewatch this movie over some of the other entries.
- DirectorDarren Lynn BousmanStarsChris RockSamuel L. JacksonMax MinghellaA criminal mastermind unleashes a twisted form of justice in Spiral, the terrifying new chapter from the book of Saw.This was the first one that I saw in cinemas and it was really fun. The story isn't the most unique, even if the marketing was hyping it up as just that, but I like the actors and the (inescapable) traps are memorable.
- DirectorMichael SpierigPeter SpierigStarsMatt PassmoreTobin BellCallum Keith RennieBodies are turning up around the city, each having met a uniquely gruesome demise. As the investigation proceeds, evidence points to one suspect: John Kramer, the man known as Jigsaw, who has been dead for over 10 years. This movie starts off really strong, but then goes down a rabbit hole of confusion. The twist is weak, and the main trial just starts to make less and less sense the longer the film goes on.
- DirectorDarren Lynn BousmanStarsTobin BellScott PattersonLouis FerreiraDespite Jigsaw's death, and in order to save the lives of two of his colleagues, Lieutenant Rigg is forced to take part in a new game, which promises to test him to the limit.Saw 4 has one of my favorite traps (mausoleum), but the story is soo forgettable, and the characters (except for Strahm and Hoffman) feel very poorly written and unmemorable.
- DirectorKevin GreutertStarsTobin BellCostas MandylorBetsy RussellAs a deadly battle rages over Jigsaw's brutal legacy, a group of Jigsaw survivors gathers to seek the support of self-help guru and fellow survivor Bobby Dagen, a man whose own dark secrets unleash a new wave of terror.Saw 7 is at its best when it is at its worst. For example the opening trap, which is hilarious. I like the concept of the main trial, but it doesn't really get enough attention, instead we're treated with a rushed plot trying to finish off the convoluted, yet enjoyable, story that the previous movies set up.
