He starts asking his publishers for advances on the books he promises to write, but his passion continues to occupy every moment of his life. His fame as a writer has reached the government and he receives an official assignment to write a study on two important paintings destined for an exhibition, which are transferred to their villa for that purpose. His lifestyle has forced Julian into huge debts, and the usurer who has contributed to his downfall hands him documents that will expose his true financial condition and expose him to a great scandal. Julian Morris asks for a delay and rashly hands over one of the paintings as collateral. However, Julian's levity is discovered and the painter of the canvas furiously demands reparations for such villainy. Without her husband's knowledge, Liana decides to seek support from Aunt Malvina and asks her for money to save her husband's honor. The lady, driven by the genuine remorse gnawing at her soul, gives Liana an advance on her inheritance and the young woman quickly leaves with what is meant to be the salvation for her beloved. But the scandal has become public knowledge and only death can remove the stain that henceforth indelibly marks Julians name. Without the courage to say goodbye to his beautiful wife, he commits suicide just as she arrives with the money. Excessive strolling through the lush garden of lust had brought him to such a tragic end, the film concludes.

- DirectorRiccardo CassanoStarsMario ParpagnoliMargot PellegrinettiAlberto MontiIn the Castle of the Cognac there lived a Prince - feeling that his death was near - decided to make a will - he gathered all his servants and recommended to them to take care of the Castle and to be as faithful as ever. Having made the will, he revealed a great secret to Prince Humbert. The secret was hidden in two old Amours. His death was sincerely felt by Prince Humbert and all who knew him. After two centuries the only relative remaining of the Prince of Cognac auctioned off the old castle and all the furnishings that were therein. On the morning of the auction there arrived at the station of Houtville a number of antiquarians to take part in the auction, among whom was a very well-known antiquarian Codolet. Codolet got on the only automobile available at the station. The other antiquarians were compelled to ride on a horse-driven vehicle. On the way the automobile gets out of order and it took six donkeys to pull the 60 H. P. car while the other antiquarians passed him by, Codolet met with numerous hardship? and mishaps. Of the many antiques Codolet fancied only the two amours which had been worn by the Prince of Cognac in the many battles and tournaments he had participated. Some time after one of the amours was purchased by Chevalier Perricon, ex-rich dentist so that he could tell his guests the heroic achievements of the Chevaliers of Perricon. At the Codolet antique-shop numerous rich clients came to make their purchases. One of the clients who wanted to buy the other armor asked Codolet to show him how the armor was worn and Codolet in the hope of making the sale and to satisfy the whims of the strange client put the amour on; in the meantime, the client, made believe that he took something from the safe. Codolet pursued him. Codolet and the client were placed under arrest and taken before a magistrate who questioned Codolet, after the client was searched, if he recognized anything that was found on the client belonged to him, Codolet could not recognize anything, the client was discharged and Codolet was held as an infant person, meanwhile his place was being robbed by the band of thieves, of which the discharged was one of them. The unjust imprisonment almost drove Codolet, the antiquarian, crazy and while he was under this spell he placed his hand inside the armor and therein found a piece of paper which stated that if he could find the other part of the missing paper he would become very rich - this paper would reveal the place where lay hidden the fortune of the Prince of Cognac. Chev. Perricon verified that, he came of noble birth but that his ancestors had forgotten to establish a coat-of-arms, so he asked a young artist to draw one and when the artist goes to the home of Chev. Perricon to work on the coat-of-arms meets the only daughter of Perricon and the two fell in love at first sight. Upon his release from prison Codolet discovered that he had been robbed, but as he had found part of the secret that would make him wealthy, paid no attention to his other losses. Codolet started in quest of the armor he had sold and engaged the services of a detective to find the purchaser of the armor. Codolet was able through this medium to find that the armor had been brought by Chev. Perricon, who had a daughter whose wishes were to marry a nobleman. He immediately sold his business and went in search of the armor, so he hired a rich abode and posed as a nobleman all with the idea to attracting Chev. Perricon and became friendly with him and in this way he might become in possession of the missing part of paper which he thought laid hidden in the armor he sold to Chev. Perricon, He frequented the boulevards and the most elegant tea pieced and amusement places in the hope of getting acquainted with Chev. Perricon. At last, at a Welfare festival he bought at auction a big cigar for $500. and in this way he succeeded in making the acquaintance desired - this aroused the ambition of the dentist who thought he was a real Prince - but the sporting life almost became a necessity with Codolet but he never omitted the chance to meet Chev. Perricon. One day during a spectacle in the "arena," the tragic incident gave Codolet an inspiration to desist from the sporting lift. Chev. Perricon so as to properly entertain the unknown Prince bought a beautiful villa and hired a clumsy butler who would teach him the great world's ways. Chev. Perricon invited the Prince. The butler explained to Chev. Perricon the measures he had taken to destroy the great number of rats which infested the Villa. At last the day came for the. Prince to arrive and the butler explained to the Prince the reason of the high beds in the Villa to save the family from a tribe of rats that infested the place, everything in and about the house surprised Codolet, also the original armature of the bathroom. At last the Prince retired to his bedroom. Strangely surprised of all, the poor Codolet dreamed of being assaulted by the rats, Chev. Perricon through some strange incident discovered the armor's secret and reigning in the idea, of the hidden treasure goes and make a useless effort to locate Codolet, and through the same source he is informed that Codolet gave up his business and was posing as a prince. Upon receiving this information he discovered that the unknown Prince was Codolet. Meanwhile Chev. Perricon placed another piece of paper in the armor in which stated "if you want to become the possessor of the hidden treasure you must consult Chev. Perricon" when Codolet found the note in the armor. An argument ensued and in order to settle matters it was agreed between Codolet and Chev. Perricon that the treasure should be divided and that Codolet should marry Chev. Perricon's daughter. As soon as Mary learned of the father's agreement, she confided to her sweetheart George the danger of their love and George told her that he would find a way to clear the mystery and while the Chev. and Codolet were discussing Mary listened to the conversation and informed George of the hidden treasure. George plots with his friend to get the tree sure and so Mary was advised to go ahead underground and that he would follow with his friends; in this way they got the hidden wealth. When Codolet and the Chev. went for the hidden treasure and after much digging they discovered a box, and upon opening the box a quantity of rubber balls flew before then and a note in the box read "So the wind takes away titles and Blazonz." So the first disappointment did not take away the hope and they soon started a new excavation and they found another parchment stating "You who are anxiously searching, I lived and made a fool of everybody and death came and made a fool of me," be honest, the only happiness in this world is love and friendship. while reading this note they turned and saw a number of people sneering at them and showing who had secured the hidden treasure. A few days later in Chev. Perricon was celebrated the love and friendship. With a joyful farandole, started the dance - while Perricon and his invisible friend welcomed the guests.
