- DirectorGreg MottolaStarsMichael CeraJonah HillChristopher Mintz-PlasseTwo co-dependent high school seniors are forced to deal with separation anxiety after their plan to stage a booze-soaked party goes awry.Hilarious coming-of-age high school comedy from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg about 2 best buddies who have to face the facts that their splitting up and going to different colleges in the final weeks before their senior year ends. With the help of their buddy Fogell, they seize the chance to supply the liquor for a huge party, to hopefully seal the deal with some choice females they have been chasing after. It is so well written, acted, and have a lot of originality and uniqueness when it comes to the dialogue. Michael Cera (Evan), Jonah Hill (Seth) and Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Fogell/McLovin) all deliver some of their all-time best performances. Bill Hader and Seth Rogen were great as the police officers. Emma Stone and Martha MacIsaac also had great supporting roles, among many others. Superb funky soundtrack as well. Classic flick for the genre.

- DirectorLen WisemanStarsBruce WillisJustin LongTimothy OlyphantJohn McClane and a young hacker join forces to take down master cyber-terrorist Thomas Gabriel in Washington D.C.The 4th Die Hard movie is surprisingly excellent just like the 3 that came before it. I'd have to consider it one of the best action/thriller film series of all time. It's a rare feat to have this much excellence and cohesiveness for 4 films in a row. This installment follows John McClane 12 years after stopping Simon Gruber, and now finds him going up against a cyber-terrorist, which also involves his daughter. It's a nice change-up in formula from the first 3 films. Bruce Willis delivers an excellent performance as usual. Timothy Olyphant was also great, as was the young hacker, Justin Long. Maggie Q, Kevin Smith, and many others had nice supporting roles.

Starting with brutal childhood trauma in 1946, the film tells the story of Dewey's rise to fame, his innovation of music styles, drug addiction, marriage problems, and his pursuit of his gorgeous loyal backup singer, Darlene. The movie is hysterical throughout with excellent dialogue and great characters. I'd have to say it's my favorite performance from John C. Reilly yet. - DirectorTodd HaynesStarsChristian BaleCate BlanchettHeath LedgerRuminations on the life of Bob Dylan, where six characters embody a different aspect of the musician's life and work.Bob Dylan is one of my favorite musicians and songwriters, so this movie was a no-brainer. Great biopic and the concept of taking 6 different actors to portray the many different sides of Dylan's music, career, and life, was very well done overall. All the actors do a great job, and cover different eras: Christian Bale (1963: acoustic/protest era), Cate Blanchett (1965-1966 electric era), Marcus Carl Franklin (Woody Guthrie inspired era), Richard Gere (covering the 1973 western Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid), Heath Ledger (1975–1777 era), Ben Whishaw (Arthur Rimbaud inspiration). Very nicely done overall.
- DirectorDavid SilvermanStarsDan CastellanetaJulie KavnerNancy CartwrightAfter Homer pollutes the town's water supply, Springfield is encased in a gigantic dome by the EPA and the Simpsons are declared fugitives.Hilarious comedy adventure that follows The Simpsons at the top of their game in 2007 after a streak of great seasons throughout the late 90s and early 2000s. After the pig Homer adopts fills up a silo with his feces silo in just 2 days, Homer dumps the contents into a lake, which pollutes Springfield's water supply, and the EPA forms a dome around the town to prevent evacuation and destroy Springfield. The movie has the same hilarious quality as the TV show, but maybe on a bit more epic scale. Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith, Hank Azaria, Harry Shearer, Pamela Hayden, Tress MacNeille, Albert Brooks, and the members from Green Day all had great voice performances.

He's living a quiet life in the Wyoming Rockies after seeing his buddy die in action, and is lured back into the game after hearing the president may be assassinated in one of three cities in the next two weeks. Presently, however, they've found a loophole that will allow them to qualify as a pairs team.Very funny sports comedy that follows a couple of rival olympic figure skaters who get in a fight on the awards platform after tying first place for the gold medal, and are subsequently banned from men's figure skating. Three years later they learn they have only been banned from the singles competition, and are able to compete as a team of doubles, as they humorously join forces to take down the gold. Will Ferrell and Jon Heder both deliver great lead performances. Will Arnett, Amy Poehler, Jenna Fischer, Craig T. Nelson, William Fichtner, Nick Swardson, and others had very funny supporting roles.

When most of the townspeople are killed and all communication the the outside world is cutoff, and the remaining survivors must must find a way to make it through the month of darkness to stay alive. Josh Hartnett, Melissa George, and Danny Huston all deliver great lead performances. Ben Foster and Mark Boone Junior were also very good among a solid supporting cast.
- DirectorRobert RodriguezStarsRose McGowanFreddy RodríguezJosh BrolinAfter an experimental bio-weapon is released, turning thousands into zombie-like creatures, it's up to a rag-tag group of survivors to stop the infected and those behind its release.Very nice action-packed comedy horror flick from Robert Rodriguez that follows a group of survivors working to stop thousands of flesh-eating zombies who were transformed after coming in contact with experimental bio-nerve gas. This is one half of the "Grindhouse" (2007) release, which is a double-feature collection also featuring Quentin Tarantino "Death Proof" (which I personally feel is a much better film). Rose McGowan, Freddy Rodríguez, Josh Brolin, Marley Shelton, Michael Biehn, and Jeff Fahey all had great performances among a solid supporting cast.
- DirectorRobert Ben GarantStarsDan FoglerChristopher WalkenGeorge LopezDown-and-out former professional ping-pong phenom, Randy Daytona, is sucked into a maelstrom when FBI Agent Ernie Rodriguez recruits him for a secret mission. Randy is determined to bounce back and win, and to smoke out his father's killer -- arch-fiend Feng.Very funny comedy, and unique since there aren't many sports films that focus on ping-pong. Nice story that follows a former ping-pong who's recruited by an FBI agent to infiltrate an underground ping-pong death match. Being a fan of the sport and the concept, I thoroughly enjoyed this film, even though there is nothing extraordinary about it. Dan Fogler delivered a great lead performance. George Lopez, Christopher Walken, Maggie Q, James Hong, and Terry Crews all had nice supporting roles.
- DirectorRob ZombieStarsScout Taylor-ComptonMalcolm McDowellTyler ManeAfter being committed for 15 years, Michael Myers, now a grown man and still very dangerous, escapes from the mental institution and immediately returns to Haddonfield to find his baby sister, Laurie.Solid reconstruction of John Carpenter's horror masterpiece "Halloween" (1978) from director and writer Rob Zombie. It couldn't be more different than the original, as this one focuses on Michael Myers early life and he became so evil starting with the murder of his step father, his sister and her boyfriend. Not one of my favorite Halloween flicks, but it has a unique charm unlike the Carpenter series. Daeg Faerch, Tyler Mane, Malcolm McDowell, Sheri Moon Zombie, and others had nice performances.
