- DirectorAlberto FlechosoWhat would you think if I would tell you that the first space suit in the History was invented and developed by an Spanish military engineer, thirty years before the Space race would have even started. That this scientist had been wanted by Hitler's engineers, and shortly after by the NASA. It is not a fantasy, this man existed and he was a very well known character during the SXX first quarter. I am speaking about the best scientist and engineer who this country had the honour to have. Much better know abroad and completely forgotten in his homeland due to the fact that during the Civil War, he like and old chevalier, kept his word and stay loyal to the Government of the Republic. Being and extraordinary man with extraordinary principles, he was devoted catholic and personal friend of King Alfonso XIII, what cause him to exile himself for life and consequently his legacy was erased. After the Civil War he lived in France, where he developed most of his scientific activities and discoveries, most of them unknown not he other side of the Pyrenees. His personal prestige and human qualities went so far that he even became the President of the Republic at the exile. This scientific was Emilio Herrera Linares and this documentary shows his incredibly multifaceted life and more importantly, recuperates fifty years later, his erased memory. How could be possible that Emilio Herrera is a total unknown in Spain, even among the scientific community? How could be possible that a charter that would show up in every single aviation landmark, communications and world astronautics, could be totally ignored? How could be possible the someone so committed to the peaceful use of science at the UN, doesn't have a place among Spanish Great men? Simply because he stayed with those who lost the war after the Spanish Civil War, and that cost him to fell into oblivion.
