When the heads of the World Wresting Entertainment (WWE) industry began a search for the sport's next "Diva" in 2006, they did not know what they had in store for them. Scouring the United States with camera crews in tow, the WWE set out with the Diva Search competition. Out of 20,000 girls they didn't anticipate a beautiful, French speaking, fashion model to quickly become the sport's femme fatale, earning almost instantaneous one-name fame usually reserved for pop singers. Nobody saw Maryse coming but she's definitely here.
Maryse Ouellet was born January 21st in Montreal, Canada to a well known master chef and a compassionate nurse, but something in her genes destined her to become the planet's toughest beauty. Growing up a tomboy in the province of Quebec, Maryse often competed and played with the boys. She excelled at sports and developed a passion for track and field. At age 15 she competed and won a mini marathon beating over 2000 adults and taking the honor of being the youngest winner in the history of the competition. Swimming was another passion, gaining her a position as a lifeguard at an aquatic park while still in high school, but it was then that her focus changed from sports to fashion. Maryse attended Collège Montmorency de Laval obtaining a degree in Business Administration.
Maryse began her modeling career as a beauty pageant contestant, winning Miss Hawaiian Tropic Canada in 2003 and finishing second at the International Finals of Miss Hawaiian Tropic 2004. The new turn in her career allowed her to travel and see the world. Maryse has modeled for Playboy being featured in 12 different playboy special editions, gracing the cover three times, her appearance in Playboy Vixens sold out in less then twenty four hours on the east coast. She has appeared in hundreds of magazines and newspapers throughout the world. Maryse was one of the most downloaded celebrities on www.playboy.com.
In 2006 with some encouragement from friends, Maryse decided to combine her love of modeling and sports and audition for WWE's Diva Search. Standing at an impressive 5'8" and holding a black belt in martial arts, the stunning blonde stood out amongst her counterparts. Maryse arrived in Los Angeles to audition for the show with a dream and no understanding of the English language. Although eliminated early in the 2006 Diva Search competition, Maryse left an impression on the producers and they recruited the Montreal native for intensive training in combat sports. Joining dozens of other WWE hopefuls Maryse trained with the best and brightest in the field of entertainment wrestling. In those two years she learned English and perfected her famous finishing moves known as the "French Kiss" and the "French TKO". Often referred to as the "Sexiest of the Sexy" Maryse's entrance into the world of WWE led her to her first WWE Divas Championship title reigning from 2008-2009. After defeating nine other female wrestlers Maryse was crowned the Diva Champion, the 2nd Diva ever to hold the title and the longest ever title holder. In 2009 Pro Wrestling Illustrated ranked Maryse #9 of the best 50 female singles wrestlers.

Ashley Michele Greene was born in Jacksonville, Florida to parents Michele (Tatum), an insurance broker, and Joseph Lacy Greene, US Marine who runs a concrete business. A self-confessed tomboy and "daredevil", Ashley loved to try to keep up with her older brother Joe, taking on activities such as taekwondo and winning several awards. Ashley says she was not allowed to spar the girls in taekwondo class because she "beat the girls up". She even accidentally once gave a boy she liked a bloody nose and lip while sparring. Ashley admits she is a "competitive little sucker".
During her early teen years, Ashley found herself hanging out with older girls, which impacted her self-esteem when she found them to be more mature and, in her mind, prettier than she was. Ashley describes herself as a "hot mess" as a teenager. Ashley's mother put her into modeling classes to improve her confidence, and Ashley began to consider becoming a model as a career. After being told she was too short to be a model, Ashley considered becoming a lawyer and getting a degree in psychology. She actually convinced her parents to let her leave her private school to attend a public one which had a law and psychology program. However, after taking a commercial class, which led to acting class, Ashley knew what she wanted to do - acting.
Luckily for Ashley, her parents were supportive and allowed her to move to LA at seventeen years of age. Due to her excellent grades and extra credits, she was able to graduate high school early to follow her acting dream.
For three years, Ashley struggled to find acting roles. She picked up small roles here and there in TV shows such as Punk'd (2003) and Crossing Jordan (2001), and some very small film roles in Shrink (2009) and King of California (2007).
Ashley's big break came when she got to audition for the film, Twilight (2008), based on Stephenie Meyer's popular book series. She originally auditioned for "Bella", but, as she says herself, "I was no Bella". She was called back to audition for the role of "Alice Cullen". After a long auditioning process, Ashley was finally told she got the part.
Ashley had previously worked in restaurants but, like the rest of her fellow "Twilight" cast-mates, Ashley found herself suddenly thrust into the limelight. Though she says she doesn't get the same kind of insanity as the boys - especially Robert Pattinson. She says most fans relate to her on a "best friend" level rather than screaming at her hysterically.
Ashley has already begun filming other roles and has high hopes for her career outside of the "Twilight" franchise. She has said she wants to be a superhero, a Bond girl and possibly Wonder Woman in future projects.- Actress

Midge came to the screen after extensive work as a photographer's model, appearing in fashion ads and on the cover of more than a hundred popular magazines, including Esquire. In 1953, she was named "the girl with the trimmest torso" and selected from 5000 applicants as 'Miss No-Cal' to promote a high profile beverage company on billboards and in printed media (No-Cal specialised in producing carbonated, sugar-free, zero-calorie soft drinks). Midge had already been snapped up by Universal-International two years earlier and was cast in a few films, but her total screen time amounted to little more than background eye candy. Her sole featured performance for the studio was in The Prince Who Was a Thief (1951), a swashbuckler set in medieval Tangiers, now chiefly remembered for its star (Tony Curtis, as an Arabian prince) uttering the immortal line "Yonduh lies de castle of de caliph, my fadder" in his best Brooklynese accent. Much later, in the 60's, Midge had a rare leading role as an aspiring Broadway dancer in All Woman (1967), a little-seen drama in which a composer (Robert Alda) befriends and variously aids three women who consecutively reside in a neighbouring apartment.
Rather better served by television, Midge briefly enjoyed a higher screen profile as the spirited love interest of Tony Young's post-Civil War military intelligence operative in the off-beat CBS western series Gunslinger (1961). The premise did not catch on, however, and Gunslinger was cancelled after just 12 episodes. Midge then guested in a few TV shows of varying genres, ranging from The Virginian (1962) and The Beverly Hillbillies (1962) to Serpico (1976). Following her retirement from screen acting in 1980, she became strongly involved in community service. For her volunteer work at the Motion Picture and Television Retirement Community in Woodland Hills, California, she received The President's Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016. Midge was married three times. Two previous husbands included actor Arthur Batanides and writer/director David Moessinger. - Actress

With mocha brown skin and almond eyes from her Persian and Italian descent, she is an exotic mix of ethnicity which sets her apart from other actresses in the UK. Born and raised in the north of England with her mother and grandmother, she still maintains a very humble nature and credits her working class background for strengthening her in preparation for success.
She grabbed the nation's attention in her soap opera screen debut and later broke millions of hearts as the victim of 2010's biggest domestic abuse storyline on screen. The dramatic performances earned the actress 6 nominations and huge critical acclaim for her emotional portrayal as the vulnerable Jo. Carrion chose to leave the show in 2009 to "earn her stripes and find new characters". She immediately starred in ITV's 'Dancing On Ice' Season 4, wowing audiences with her impressive daredevil moves such as the 'head-banger'. Carrion then treaded the boards in three lead consecutive theatre roles, 1950's musical 'Rock Around The Clock', Eve Ensler's UK tour 'The Vagina Monologues' and the two-hander play "Satin 'n' Steel", winning as much credibility and popularity on stage as she previously did on screen. She then surprised the nation by playing 17 year old troubled school girl Shelby Dixon in BBC's Waterloo Road, a role that was ten years younger than the actress herself in real life.
2012 was a huge year for Carrion when she was cast as the lead role of Sarah McColl in British film 'Devil's Tower' when she originally walked in to audition for a smaller part as the friend. After shooting the intense horror film, Carrion then began filming an urban comedy for Kaleidoscope Pictures, 'It's A Lot' playing the quirky college misfit Louise. In 2013 Carrion beat a whole host of musical theatre talent to the lead role of Janet Weiss in the 40th anniversary UK tour of 'The Rocky Horror Show' which saw her transform yet again, this time into a 1950's blonde All-American sweetheart. Carrion then went straight into her next stage role as Shelley for The Royal Court in 'Ladies Day'. The play proved to be her biggest on stage challenge to date, due to the role being Scouse and Carrion being the only non Liverpudlian actor in the cast. She won rave reviews for her comedic timing and flawless Scouse accent.
The actress began shooting British film 'The Violators' in 2014 and then flew straight out to shoot for 20th Century Fox in American horror film 'Wrong Turn 6' in the spring of 2014. Despite already having a successful career on both stage and screen, Carrion embarked on a summer training course at RADA during her summer, majoring in Contemporary Drama at the prestigious Royal Academy. She has been working with the BAFTA acclaimed playwright John Godber on his play 'On The Piste' which toured theatres in the UK and once again, in her lead role of Bev, she won rave reviews for her comedic performance.
Carrion began shooting British indie film 'Habit' early 2016, a thriller based on the novel by Stephen McGeagh set in Manchester. She then soon began a lead stage role at the highly acclaimed Park Theatre in London for the Tony Award winning play 'Some Girls', a dark comedy written by Neil LaBute. Roxanne then won rave reviews for her lead stage role as wild child New Jersey girl Holly in 'The Wedding Singer' UK Tour 2017, an eighties musical based on the cult classic Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore movie, originally produced for Broadway. - Actress

Academy Award-winner Lee Grant was born Lyova Haskell Rosenthal on October 31, 1925 in Manhattan, New York City, to Witia (Haskell), a teacher and model, and Abraham Rosenthal, an educator and realtor. Her father was of Romanian Jewish descent, and her mother was a Russian Jewish immigrant. Lee made her stage debut at age 4 at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City, playing the abducted princess in "L'Orocolo". After graduating from high school, she won a scholarship to the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre, where she studied acting with Sanford Meisner. When she was a teenager Grant established herself as a formidable Broadway talent when she won The Critics' Circle Award for her portrayal of the shoplifter in "Detective Story". She reprised the role in the film version (Detective Story (1951), a performance that garnered her the Cannes Film Festival Citation for Best Actress as well as her first Academy Award Nomination. Immediately following her screen debut, however, Lee became a victim of the McCarthy-era blacklists in which actors, writers, directors, etc., were persecuted for supposedly "Communist" or "progressive" political beliefs, whether they had them or not. Except for an occasional role, she did not work in film or television for 12 years. In 1965 Lee re-started her acting career in the TV series Peyton Place (1964), for which she won an Emmy Award as Stella Chernak, and she later garnered her first Academy Award for Shampoo (1975), also receiving Academy Award nominations for The Landlord (1970) and Voyage of the Damned (1976). Since 1980 Lee has been concentrating on her directorial career, which began as part of the Women's Project at The Americal Film Institute (AFI); her adaptation of August Strindberg's, "Stronger, The" was consequently selected as one of the 10 best films ever produced for AFI. In 1987 she received an Academy Award for the HBO documentary, Down and Out in America (1985) and directed Nobody's Child (1986) for CBS, for which she received the Directors Guild Award. In 1983 she received the Congressional Arts Caucus Award for Outstanding Achievement in Acting and Independent Filmmaking. Subsequently, Women in Film paid tribute to her in 1989, with its first-ever Lifetime Achievement Award. Both the New York City Council and the County of Los Angeles Board of Supervisors have recognized Ms. Grant for the contribution her films have made to the fight against domestic violence.- Brittney Alger is an American actress, born in Westlake, Ohio. She first realized she had an itch for drama while studying theatre in high school. Brittney participated in various plays and musicals, it was then that she realized the power it had to connect people. It wasn't until she portrayed an orphan in a local church play, where she connected so deeply to the role and witnessed how touched the audience was; she knew it was what she wanted to do forever. She began honing her craft by enrolling in multiple acting classes and workshops in New Orleans, Louisiana. It was there that she learned the basics of acting, including discipline, focus, and the teamwork it takes to be a successful actress in this business. After landing her first lead role in the film, The Demented, she decided it was time to move to Los Angeles. Brittney continues to show that she has what it takes through her magnetic personality, vulnerability and beauty.

Her movie roles took her to more than a dozen countries where she shared the screen with such greats as Frankie Avalon, Klaus Kinski, Christopher Lee, Vincent Price and Jack Palance .

Patricia Neal, the Oscar and Tony Award-winning actress, was born Patsy Louise Neal in Packard, Kentucky, where her father managed a coal mine and her mother was the daughter of the town doctor. She grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee, where she attended high school. She was first bit by the acting bug at the age of 10, after attending an evening of monologues at a Methodist church. She subsequently wrote a letter to Santa Claus, telling him, "What I want for Christmas is to study dramatics". She won the Tennessee State Award for dramatic reading while she was in high school.
She apprenticed at the Barter Theater in Abingdon, Virginia, when she was 16-years-old, between her junior and senior years in high school. After studying drama for two years at Northwestern University, she headed to New York City and landed the job as an understudy in The Voice of the Turtle (1947). It was the producer of the play that had her change her name from Patsy Louise to Patricia. After replacing Vivian Vance in the touring company of "Turtle", she won a role in a play that closed in Boston and then appeared in summer stock. She won the role of the teenage "Regina" in Lillian Hellman's play, Another Part of the Forest (1948), for which she won a Tony Award in 1947. Subsequently, she signed a seven-year contract with Warner Bros.
In the first part of her film career, her most impressive roles were in The Fountainhead (1949), opposite Gary Cooper, with whom she had three-year-long love affair, and in director Robert Wise's sci-fi classic, The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951), which she made at 20th Century-Fox. Warners hadn't been thrilled with her and let her go before her contract was up, so she signed with Fox. With her film career stagnating, she returned to Broadway and achieved the success that eluded her in films, appearing in the revival of Hellman's play, The Children's Hour (1961), in 1952. She met and married writer, Roald Dahl, in 1953, and they would have five children in 30 years of marriage.
In 1957, she had one of her finest roles in Elia Kazan's parable about the threat of mass-media demagoguery and home-grown fascism in A Face in the Crowd (1957). Before she had appeared in the movie, Neal had taken over the role of "Maggie" in Tennessee Williams' Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958), the Broadway smash that had been directed by Kazan. Returning to the stage, she appeared in the London production of Williams' Suddenly, Last Summer (1959) and co-starred with Anne Bancroft in the Broadway production of The Miracle Worker (1962).
After appearing in Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961), she had what was arguably her finest role, as Alma the housekeeper, in Hud (1963) opposite Paul Newman. The film was a hit and Neal won the Best Actress Oscar. In 1965, she suffered a series of strokes that nearly killed her. She was filming John Ford's film, 7 Women (1965), at the time, and had to be replaced by Anne Bancroft (who would later take a role she turned down, that of "Mrs. Robinson" in The Graduate (1967)). Neal was pregnant at the time.
She underwent a seven-hour operation on her brain and survived, later delivering her fifth child. She underwent rehabilitation supervised by her husband. She had turned down The Graduate (1967) as she had not recovered fully from her stroke. When she returned to the screen, in 1968 in The Subject Was Roses (1968), she suffered from memory problems. According to her director, Ulu Grosbard, "The memory element was the uncertain one. But when we started to shoot, she hit her top level. She really rises to the challenge. She has great range, even more now than before".
She received an Oscar nomination for her work. Subsequently, new acting roles equal to her talent were sparse. She did receive three Emmy nominations, the first for originating the role of "Olivia Walton" in the 1971 TV movie The Homecoming: A Christmas Story (1971), that gave birth to the TV show The Waltons (1972).

Born and raised in Winnetka, Illinois to Princeton and Harvard grads, it was expected that Charlotte Ross would follow in her parent's footsteps and continue in the field of education. However, falling in love with acting (and singing) in the tender years of her childhood, Charlotte had other plans in mind and decided at an early age she would follow the "Hollywood" route instead.
From that moment on, Charlotte studied with anyone and everyone she possibly could to polish and sharpen her craft (especially adored, Roy London). She worked at Second City and the Goodman Theater in Chicago and earned a early living with numerous commercial and modeling gigs. Then a month after graduating from the famous New Trier High School, Charlotte made the move to Los Angeles where she quickly landed her first role in Hollywood as "Eve Donovan" on Days of Our Lives (1965), a role that later garnered her 2 Emmy Nominations. After a wonderful four years on the infamous Soap, she went on to pursue other roles. Charlotte then quickly jumped into starring in numerous TV movies including, A Kiss So Deadly (1996), Kidnapped in Paradise (1999), Fall Into Darkness (1996), and She Says She's Innocent (1991), to name a few. She also landed the lead in Aaron Spelling's The Heights (1992) (FOX), which earned a Gold record for her and the cast's singing. She went on to release 3 albums.
Since then, Charlotte has remained a prominent figure in the entertainment industry, starring in TV series such as CBS's comedy The 5 Mrs. Buchanans (1994) by Marc Cherry, FOX's Pauly (1997) (Mommie and Me) with Pauly Shore, NBC's/John Wells' ER (1994) and later his family drama, Trinity (1998). She also starred in Showtime's critically-acclaimed Beggars and Choosers (1999) as 'Lorri Valpone', a role the Los Angeles Times said made Charlotte an "Emmy Shoe-in".
Before "Beggars and Choosers" was officially canceled after two seasons, Charlotte was asked to consider replacing Kim Delaney on the Emmy Award-winning show, NYPD Blue (1993). Charlotte gratefully jumped at the opportunity and made her debut on the ever- successful cop drama, as the tough talking Irish Detective, "Connie McDowell". Again, the media's response to Charlotte echoed that of "Beggars and Choosers" with the LA Times saying "If NYPD Blue still had the popularity it once had, Charlotte would have a shelf of Emmy's"... not to mention her famous "Ass scene" that caused a succession of Court appeals about standards and practices ending in the Supreme Court with President Barack Obama weighing in.
At the end of her fifth season as 'Detective Connie McDowell' on "NYPD Blue", Charlotte was 8 months pregnant with her first child and eager to take a break from acting to just be a Mom. After so many years of being so grateful for work, she craved a break and today still says that time off was the best decision she ever made.
Two years after the birth of her beautiful little boy, Max, Charlotte went back to work starring in the "re-tooled" second season of ABC's Jake in Progress (2005) Jake in Progress , Lifetime's Nora Roberts film, Montana Sky (2007), Christmas in Paradise (2007), VH1's Hit the Floor (2013) and Law & Order (1990) as the memorable character "Anne Coltour", which once again generated Emmy buzz.
Guest starring as Deacon's ex girlfriend on ABC's Nashville (2012), Charlotte also recurs as Quinn's mom on the hit show, Glee (2009) Glee_, and on CW's hit show, Arrow (2012), as the beloved Felicity's mother, Donna (aka "Mama Smoak"). Charlotte continues to challenge and reinvent herself for a diverse array of roles. Whether it be showing off her athleticism as the first female umpire in professional baseball in the highly anticipated short film, The Umpire (2011), seducing Nicolas Cage as the white trash, tattoo covered sex cougar, 'Candy' in Summit's 3D film, _Drive Angry (2012)_, or starring in _Street Kings: Motor City (2013)_ opposite Ray Liotta, Charlotte continues to captivate audiences and impress critics with her unbelievable range as an actress.
A successful actress for over two decades, a proud single mom to her son Max, a passionate recognized animal rights activist (widely known for PETA "I'd rather go naked..." campaign ) who received the HSUS Animal Advocate of the Year Award for her lobbying work on Capitol Hill to release Chimpanzee's from testing labs, a vocal fitness fanatic (recently summited Kilimanjaro) who inspires women to be in the best shape of their lives and, filming her own fitness video, Charlotte is fortunate to be able to do what she loves. She is passionate about producing as well. Once a Winnetka gal with a love of finding the truth on screen, Charlotte is now living her dream and couldn't be in a happier more grateful place in her life.- Raquel Riskin is known for Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010), Supernatural (2005) and Stargate Universe (2009).

Elyse Levesque (born Elyse Marie Levesque in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada) began acting at the age of 11, when she became part of the repertory company for the acclaimed children's television series, Incredible Story Studio (1997). This was followed by commercial work for both television and radio and the role of the villainous "Dr. Maxine Rich" in the futuristic YTV series, 2030 CE (2002). Following high school, Levesque traveled the world as a model, before returning to her hometown to study fine arts. She eventually relocated to Vancouver, BC, to seriously pursue an acting career and began landing parts in a number of television and film projects for both Canadian and American film markets. In 2008, Levesque won the role of "Chloe Armstrong" in the sci-fi TV series, Stargate Universe (2009), the third installment of the highly-successful MGM Stargate franchise. Her more recent credits include Fox Searchlight's Ready or Not, opposite Andie MacDowell and Adam Brody, The Big Ugly opposite Ron Perlman and Malcolm McDowell, as well as a recurring guest star on the popular Canadian series Private Eyes, opposite Jason Priestley.- This lovely, long-haired, fresh-faced and most promising product of the late 1950s was born Diane Marie Antonia Varsi in San Mateo, California, on February 23, 1938, the elder of two daughters of Russell Varsi, a florist, and wife Beatrice DeMerchant. A troubling childhood led to her dropping out of high school, toiling instead in a number of nowhere jobs -- waitress, dress shop model, fruit picker, candle dipper, etc.
An intended spiritual sojourn in the mid-1950s from San Francisco to Mexico ended when she got as far as Los Angeles. A sensitive soul, Diane settled there and became interested in the fine arts, including folk singing, dancing, acting, writing poetry and music. She enrolled in actor Jeff Corey's acting classes and debuted in a community theater production of "Gigi." After a brief marriage that was annulled, Diane met and married producer James Dickson, who became her manager. A son Shawn Michael was born.
Through her contact with actor Corey, Diane was given the chance to audition for director Mark Robson for a part in the film version of the best-selling novel Peyton Place (1957). Despite the studio's objections, she was chosen by Robson over hundreds of others, despite her lack of experience, and made an auspicious debut in the coveted role of Allison MacKenzie. A critical hit as well as a box-office smash, Diane was nominated for an Academy Award ("Supporting Actress") along with fellow Peyton performers Lana Turner, Arthur Kennedy, Hope Lange and Russ Tamblyn, not to mention director Robson. Included in its nine nominations total was a "Best Picture" nod. She also shared a Golden Globe for "Most Promising Newcomer" with actresses Sandra Dee and Carolyn Jones. Despite the movie's shut-out at the Academy Awards ceremony, Diane was deemed a new and exciting star while columnist Louella Parsons went on to call her "Hollywood's Female Brando." A rebel and non-conformist by nature who had a difficult time with celebrity, she was compared to the late James Dean in her tendency to withdraw and avoid publicity.
After Peyton Place, Diane appeared in three more high-profile Twentieth Century-Fox productions -- From Hell to Texas (1958), a western directed by Henry Hathaway and co-starring Don Murray; Ten North Frederick (1958), featuring her as Gary Cooper daughter; and the lead female role in Compulsion (1959) based on the Leopold-Loeb murder case. All of these placed Diane in the top ranks of young new actresses, but she found it harder and harder to cope with the pressures of the studio system. She eventually suffered a nervous collapse. Unable to readjust to the pressures, she started to habitually turn down roles in important movie scripts. Eventually Fox suspended her.
In March of 1959, Diane abandoned Hollywood, divorcing her husband in the process, and moved with her son to Vermont, away from the limelight. Returning to her Bohemian lifestyle of poetry and solitude, she was still recognized. Within a couple of years Diane moved back to California. Marrying producer named Michael Hausman, she had with him a second child, daughter Willo, who later had a minor acting career under the name Willo Hausman.
Still barred from working at any studio by Fox, her contract finally expired in late 1964, and she became available again. The work was hardly in the same caliber as her earlier feats. Former co-star Don Murray helped her get a role in his low-budget film entitled Sweet Love, Bitter (1967), and a role in a Swedish film entitled Roseanna (1967), but it all led to nowhere.
In 1968 Diane Varsi began an association with American International Pictures and filmed the cult flick Wild in the Streets (1968) with the equally rebellious Christopher Jones playing a drugged-out politico. She also co-starred in a third-rate Bonnie and Clyde tale called Killers Three (1968). In 1969, she was featured with Robert De Niro and Bruce Dern in Roger Corman's Bloody Mama (1970) with Diane playing a hooker and a deranged Shelley Winters reenacting murderous Ma Barker. She also played roles that spoke to her, such as the nurse in the anti-war film Johnny Got His Gun (1971) and her part in the TV-movie The People (1972), about peaceful aliens invading the earth. A sprinkling of other TV assignments also came her way.
The writing was on the wall, however, for Diane. The dust had settled on what was the remnants of a once glorious career. After turning in a small role as an overweight mental patient in the excellent film I Never Promised You a Rose Garden (1977), Diane again dropped out of sight--this time for good. Little was heard although it was said she had returned to her poetry and took up photography. The newspapers reported her death on November 19, 1992, in Los Angeles at age 54, from respiratory problems due to complications from Lyme disease, which she had contracted back in 1977. - Actress

An extremely gifted, versatile performer adept at both comedy and drama, actress/singer Katey Sagal became a household name in the late 1980s as the fabulously brazen, undomesticated Peg Bundy on the enduring Fox series Married... with Children (1987). During its lengthy run she received three Golden Globe and two American Comedy Award nominations. As popular and identifiable as her Peg Bundy persona was, Katey assertively moved on after the show went off the air, not only starring in other sitcoms and television movies, but portraying characters that were polar opposites of the outrageous role that first earned her nationwide attention. For example, in 2008 she took on the role of Gemma Teller Morrow, the matriarch of a Hell's- Angels-esque California biker gang, on the series Sons of Anarchy (2008), and in 2011 her portrayal earned her a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in the Television Series--Drama.
Catherine Louise Sagal was born on January 19, 1954, to director and singer Sara Zwilling and noted television and film director Boris Sagal. The Los Angeles native began performing at age 5 and studied voice and acting at the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, California.
A singing waitress during her "salad" years, she started performing with the band "The Group With No Name," then caught a break after hooking up with Gene Simmons and his 1970s rock band KISS. In the meantime, she gained valuable experience as a backup recording singer for Simmons and other established stars like Bob Dylan, Olivia Newton-John, Etta James, and Tanya Tucker. She was also dynamic performing live with diva Bette Midler as one of her "Harlettes" in Bette's wildly avant-garde stage shows during the late 1970s and early 1980s.
In 1985, while performing on stage in a musical, she was spotted by talent agents who subsequently cast her as Mary Tyler Moore's feisty co-worker Jo Tucker in Mary (1985), a short-lived comedy series. From that point on she focused on film and television. In 1987 she won the role of voluptuous "housewife" Peg Bundy in the irreverent comedy Married... with Children (1987), and the rest is history.
In addition to her busy on-camera scheduling, Katey has retraced her steps to her first love: singing and songwriting. With the support of her record label Valley Entertainment, she released the album "Room" in 2004 that combined classics like "Feel a Whole Lot Better" and "(For the Love of) Money" with original songs she penned, including "Life Goes Round," "Daddy's Girl," and "Wish I Were a Kid." "Room" is her first CD since her 1994 debut "Well."
In her post-Bundy career, Katey has continued to demonstrate a strong range, playing a much more responsible parent in the popular sitcom 8 Simple Rules (2002), co-starring the late John Ritter and valiantly moving to single-household-head after Ritter's sudden passing in 2003 with highly successful results.
She has earned earned equally-fine kudos for her television movies like Chance of a Lifetime (1998), a charming romantic comedy that also co-starred John Ritter, God's New Plan (1999), a tearjerker in which she played a dying mother, and the Disney offerings Smart House (1999) and Mr. Headmistress (1998). The voice of Turanga Leela, the beautiful one-eyed sewer mutant in the animated series Futurama (1999), she has also guested on Ghost Whisperer (2005), Lost (2004), Boston Legal (2004), CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2000), and Eli Stone (2008). Feature films have included Maid to Order (1987), The Good Mother (1988), the Sundance Film Festival favorite Dropping Out (2000), Following Tildy (2002), and the indie I'm Reed Fish (2006).
Playing Jack's mother in a live-action/adventure retelling of Jack and the Beanstalk (2009) that also featured the talents of Christopher Lloyd, James Earl Jones, and Chevy Chase, Katey's more recent efforts include recurring role on TV's Lost (2004), a role in the mini-series The Bastard Executioner (2015) and a regular role in the series Superior Donuts (2017). She would also join the cast of the sitcom The Conners (2018) as a love interest to widower Dan John Goodman.
Following brief marriages to musician Freddie Beckmeier, Fred Lombardo, and former Steppenwolf drummer and "Mighty Ducks" hockey film advisor Jack White, Katey resides in the Los Angeles area with fourth husband writer/producer/director/creator Kurt Sutter, whose acclaimed work includes The Shield (2002) and the offbeat Sons of Anarchy (2008), which Sutter created. She had three children by White: Ruby (died at birth), Sarah, and Jackson; and one daughter by Sutter, Esme Louise.- Actress
