Nobody but a contortionist could ever get rid of those terrible pieces of paper, and to add to Max's misery, when he gets to the table he finds that having picked up his fork he cannot get loose of it. His glass, too, sticks to his hands and when his future father-in-law passes him a platter, Max cannot let loose and the entire party gets embroiled over who shall have the platter.
