- DirectorPeter JacksonStarsElijah WoodIan McKellenOrlando BloomA meek Hobbit from the Shire and eight companions set out on a journey to destroy the powerful One Ring and save Middle-earth from the Dark Lord Sauron.Hardly any flaws, perfect from start to finish and very impactful. Started the best Middle earth saga adaptation off in the most spectacular way. Also my favorite movie.
- DirectorPeter JacksonStarsElijah WoodViggo MortensenIan McKellenGandalf and Aragorn lead the World of Men against Sauron's army to draw his gaze from Frodo and Sam as they approach Mount Doom with the One Ring.An amazing and epic finish to the Trilogy, some of the best action scenes in Cinema History. The only thing preventing it from being #1 is the prolonged ending scenes, which ultimately is a minor gripe.
- DirectorPeter JacksonStarsElijah WoodIan McKellenViggo MortensenWhile Frodo and Sam edge closer to Mordor with the help of the shifty Gollum, the divided fellowship makes a stand against Sauron's new ally, Saruman, and his hordes of Isengard.Continued the trilogy with the stunning brilliance that all the other LOTR Movies have. Only problems in this are some boring moments with Sam and Frodo, which was thankfully alleviated often by Gollum's brilliant character adapted to perfection by the great visual effects and memorable performance by Andy Serkis.
- DirectorPeter JacksonStarsMartin FreemanIan McKellenRichard ArmitageA reluctant Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, sets out to the Lonely Mountain with a spirited group of dwarves to reclaim their mountain home and the gold within it from the dragon Smaug.Started off the Hobbit Trilogy in a great fashion, and had many great moments. Definitely the best of the Hobbit Trilogy due to it's story telling of Tolkien's tale, despite SOME changes (much less than the next two however.) Martin Freeman's performance as Bilbo is one of the greatest highlights of this movie, and of the trilogy overall.
- DirectorPeter JacksonStarsIan McKellenMartin FreemanRichard ArmitageBilbo Baggins and company are forced to engage in a war against an array of combatants and keep the Lonely Mountain from falling into the hands of a rising darkness.Definitely the most epic and action packed entry into the Hobbit Trilogy, Despite being heavily flawed with excessive CGI scenes, pacing, and some key story moments from the book being omitted due to the Theatrical cut. Brought a satisfying ending to the Middle Earth movie saga, even with it's frequent flaws yet again representing why the Hobbit trilogy is inferior to the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
- DirectorPeter JacksonStarsIan McKellenMartin FreemanRichard ArmitageThe dwarves, along with Bilbo Baggins and Gandalf the Grey, continue their quest to reclaim the Lonely Mountain, their homeland, from the dragon Smaug.Sits in last place due to the several over the top CGI fight scenes, and frequent butchering of the original story (ex: Tauriel). While still being very flawed, it is still an enjoyable movie. Benedict Cumberbatch's performance as Smaug, Bilbo's epic moments and the beautiful sets and landscapes of New Zealand are some high points of this movie.
