- DirectorWei LoChia-Hsiang WuStarsBruce LeeMaria YiJames TienA young man sworn to an oath of non-violence works with his cousins in an ice factory where they mysteriously begin to disappear.First Bruce Lee film I ever saw. How fitting, because it's probably the best of the bunch. You've got to love the gore factor of this movie. It's simply stunning for an early 1970's film to show so much blood. I'll go even so far to say that this fits perfectly to the grindhouse standards of the 70's.
A must watch! - DirectorShigehiro OzawaStarsShin'ichi ChibaGoichi YamadaYutaka NakajimaAfter failing to reach a deal with her enemies, a mercenary karateka protects the daughter of a recently-deceased oil tycoon from the evil conglomerate gunning for her inheritance. Not to be confused with the horrible horrible video-game adaptation.
This one is a must watch. IT'S ESSENTIAL TO THE BONE! - DirectorChia-Liang LiuJackie ChanStarsJackie ChanHo-Sung PakLung TiA young martial artist is caught between respecting his pacifist father's wishes or stopping a group of disrespectful foreigners from stealing precious artifacts. One of the best IF not the best Jackie Chan movies ever made. The fight scenes are off the damn wall. I should watch The original and all the "Police Story" movies too. Essential!
- DirectorWei LoStarsBruce LeeNora MiaoJames TienA young man seeks vengence for the death of his teacher. The last Lee film I saw. I've always had mixed feelings about this one since I can't decide which is better. This or "Way of the dragon"
I also really don't like it that there's a LOT less gore/blood in this movie. There's the scene when Bruce hits Japanese fighters with his nunchakus and the scene where a guy impaled by a katana. Still, it's a good movie. - DirectorNgai Choi LamStarsSiu-Wong FanMei Sheng FanKa-Kui HoRiki-Oh, a young man who has superhuman strength, is incarcerated in a private prison, where inmates are treated like slaves. He is forced to use his unstoppable form of martial arts to destroy the corrupt officials and their lackeys.Brilliant! Watch it now! But only if your stomach can handle buckets of blood and gore
- DirectorBruce LeeStarsBruce LeeChuck NorrisNora MiaoA man visits his relatives at their restaurant in Italy and has to help them defend against brutal gangsters harassing them. All Bruce Lee's films are essential. This wouldn't be if it wasn't for THE GREAT CHUCK NORRIS!
- DirectorRobert ClouseStarsBruce LeeJohn SaxonJim KellyA Shaolin martial artist travels to an island fortress to spy on an opium lord - who is also a former monk from his temple - under the guise of attending a fighting tournament.Bruce Lee's most successful film and the only one he made in America.
It's a shame really. This man could have made as much movies as Jackie Chan has now made.
Well the movie kicks ass and I really like John Saxon and Jim Kelly (R.I.P 1946-2013) in their roles. - DirectorJackie ChanStarsJackie ChanPai WeiBiao YuenA talented martial arts student goes after his expelled brother, who get into bad company. The reason this movie is so good is the final fight. It lasts 18 MINUTES!
- DirectorRobert ClouseBruce LeeStarsBruce LeeGig YoungDean JaggerA martial arts movie star must fake his death to find the people who are trying to kill him.DON'T WATCH THIS MOVIE! It's bollocks. look up the full unedited 40-minute footage instead. Thank me later.
- DirectorEric KarsonStarsChuck NorrisKaren CarlsonLee Van CleefA martial artist must defeat a plan by ninjas to create a worldwide training camp for terrorists. This is the ULTIMATE camp film to watch. It's corny as hell :D
- DirectorNewt ArnoldStarsJean-Claude Van DammeDonald GibbLeah Ayres"Bloodsport" follows Frank Dux, an American martial artist serving in the military, who decides to leave the army to compete in a martial arts tournament in Hong Kong where fights to the death can occur.Probably Van Damme's best film. It's also the funniest! Just listen to those slow-mo screams!
- DirectorShigehiro OzawaStarsShin'ichi ChibaClaude GagnonYôko IchijiMercenary karate master Tsurugi gets mixed up in a plot by the American mafia to take over the karate dojos in Asia, aided by a corrupt dojo master.A well done sequel. There is an equal amount of gore and the plot is also pretty good :D
- DirectorCheh ChangStarsSheng ChiangChien SunPhillip Chung-Fung KwokThe sixth and final pupil of a dying martial arts teacher is instructed to find the teacher's five former pupils and defeat any evil ones that are among them.A kung fu movie with a surprisingly good plot. Great movie!
- DirectorChang-hwa JeongStarsLieh LoPing WangHsiung ChaoAs two martial arts schools prepare for an important tournament, one school's master is a dishonorable man, and to ensure his son wins the title, he hires three Japanese samurais, who target the rival school's best fighter. This is the movie that has that alarm noise from Kill Bill. One of Tarantino's favorites.
- DirectorChia-Hui LiuStarsChia-Hui LiuAdam ChengLi ChingTwo friends from rival schools are turned against one another by a jealous chief who wants to eliminate those whose fighting styles may rival his own.Wu-Tang Clan? Why else would this be here? Oh yeah it's an awesome film but I wouldn't know about it if it wasn't for tha good ol' Wu.
Don't get me wrong! The fight scenes are unbelievable! - DirectorCheh ChangStarsKuan Tai ChenFeng LuPhillip Chung-Fung KwokThree men who have been physically disabled by an evil warlord and his physically-disabled son become friends and learn kung fu so that they can seek revenge with help from an elderly martial-arts teacher and his mentally-disabled pupil.Very good film. some blood too.
- DirectorWoo-Ping YuenStarsJackie ChanSiu-Tin YuenJeong-lee HwangWong Fei-Hung is a mischievous yet righteous young man, but after a series of incidents his frustrated father has him disciplined by a master of drunken martial arts.Just saw this. It's very good but not as good as the sequel.
- DirectorChun-Ku LuStarsJeong-lee HwangYuen-Man MengHoi MangTwo young martial artists seek the training of an old master to try and combat a local warlord.I clicked on this video on youtube because it's another Wu-Tang song title. But it's very good :D
- DirectorJimmy Wang YuStarsJimmy Wang YuTien Wu ChuKang ChinAfter his students are killed by the One Armed Boxer, a vengeful and blind Kung Fu expert travels to a village where a martial arts contest is being held and vows to behead every one armed man he comes across.Very good. A little bit of gore too!
- DirectorJimmy Wang YuStarsJimmy Wang YuChia-Yung LiuLing-Ling HsiehTwo masters must combine their skills to defeat an evil lord.Another great movie!
- DirectorCorey YuenStarsKurt McKinneyJean-Claude Van DammeJ.W. FailsJason, a Bruce Lee fan, sees his karate instructor/dad beaten by martial art thugs. They move to Seattle where, after humiliations, he trains with Bruce Lee's ghost so he can defend himself and others against thugs.More corny films! You could say that it's a crappy karate version of "Rocky". Good for few laughs and Van Damme.
- DirectorShigehiro OzawaStarsShin'ichi ChibaReiko IkeKôji WadaMercenary karate master Tsurugi is hired to retrieve a cassette tape which holds a very sensitive recording of governmental corruption. A back and forth game of who got the tape ensues.Pretty boring. The pacing is slow and the plot isn't too great either. Still worth to check it out though...
- DirectorMark DiSalleDavid WorthStarsJean-Claude Van DammeDennis AlexioDennis ChanKurt Sloane must learn the ancient kick boxing art of Muay Thai in order to avenge his brother. This one's alright. I prefer Bloodsport over this one though.
- DirectorFeng HuangStarsSing ChenHo WangJames TienA brutal Manchurian prince is determined to collect every Chinese martial arts manual. After obtaining all but two, the prince devises a daring scheme to get his hands on the heavily guarded manuals located at the Shaolin temple. Not a well known movie. I watched it because of James Tien.
You may remember him "The Big Boss", where he plays Bruce's brother in law Hsiu Chien. - DirectorShan KwanStarsSing ChenRaymond LuiNi TienTwo brothers, Hsaio and Wu Cheng, are searching for their uncle in the restaurant that they mistakenly think he owns. Finding out too late that he doesn't and unable to pay their bill, they are besieged by the thugs that run it. When the twosome are able to fight the gang off, their skills are recognized by the crooked owner, King Chan, who hires them and offers to assist in finding the missing relative. The uncompromising application of authentic fighting techniques established this film's reputation for being one of the bloodiest in the genre.Pretty bad. The plot is awful and drags a LOT. There's some gore in the end though.
- DirectorJoseph VelascoStarsRyong KeoIl-do JangLik CheungJohn Liu, the legendary Northern Kick expert is sent to investigate an antiques smuggling gang working out of Canton.Pretty good :D
- DirectorMin-Hsiung WuStarsPolly Ling-Feng Shang-KuanFeng ShihChing ChengThis film depicts the early exploits of the founder of Tai Chi, Chang Zhang Fong, The story starts with Chang staying at the Shaolin temple and stumbling upon the secret manuscripts that lead to his expertise in the Crane and Snake styles of kung fu. When the local baron passes through a town and is nearly assassinated, he employs a disgraced monk with an axe to grind to root out the offenders.A nice sword epic. Nothing more
- DirectorCheh ChangStarsTien-Chi ChengTien-Hsiang LungMeng LoA Chinese martial arts school is infiltrated and destroyed by ninjas. Tian Hao survives the massacre and seeks to uncover the trickery of ninjutsu in order to beat the Five Element Ninjas and avenge his family.Cool movie. has moderately gore and ninjas.
