- DirectorDanny SteinmannStarsMelanie KinnamanJohn ShepherdAnthony BarrileStill haunted by his past, Tommy Jarvis, who, as a child, killed Jason Voorhees, is sent to a secluded halfway house in the countryside, where the killing of a young man triggers a brutal series of murders in the area.7.5/10. Unfairly maligned, this is the most interesting and entertaining film in this franchise. Good kills and decent scares.
- DirectorSteve MinerStarsBetsy PalmerAmy SteelJohn FureyFive years after the events of the first film, a summer camp next to the infamous Camp Crystal Lake is preparing to open, but the legend of Jason is weighing heavy on the proceedings.7/10. Probably the scariest in the series. Great atmosphere and surprising characterization. Also one of the tightest films in the series.
- DirectorJoseph ZitoStarsErich AndersonJudie AronsonPeter BartonAfter being announced dead and taken to a morgue, Jason Voorhees spontaneously revives, escapes from the hospital, and stalks a group of friends renting a house in the countryside near Crystal Lake.7/10. A misnomer if there ever was one, the fourth entry has terrific kills and Jason is still fairly scary.
- DirectorTom McLoughlinStarsThom MathewsJennifer CookeDavid KagenTommy Jarvis exhumes Jason Voorhees to cremate his corpse, but inadvertently brings him back to life instead. The newly revived killer seeks revenge, and Tommy may be the only one who can stop him.6.5/10. A surprising genre twister, this one is at times too smart for it's own good. Has very little actual tension and doesn't follow up the potential of part 5's ending. However, it's still funny and actually well written, for this series at least.
- DirectorSteve MinerStarsDana KimmellTracie SavageRichard BrookerJason Voorhees stalks a group of friends who have just arrived to spend the weekend at a cabin near Crystal Lake.6/10. Decent atmosphere but kind of derivative of parts 1 and 2. The hockey mask makes its first appearance.
- DirectorMarcus NispelStarsJared PadaleckiAmanda RighettiDerek MearsA group of young adults visit a boarded up campsite named Crystal Lake where they soon encounter the mysterious Jason Voorhees and his deadly intentions.6/10. Decent reboot of the series. Good gore and incredibly hot naked chicks. Can't ask for much more, really.
- DirectorJohn Carl BuechlerStarsTerry KiserJennifer BankoJohn OtrinJason Voorhees is accidentally freed from his watery prison by a telekinetic teenager. Now, only she can stop him.6/10. The series is slightly tired by this point. Telekinesis plotline is pretty damn stupid.
- DirectorRonny YuStarsRobert EnglundKen KirzingerKelly RowlandFreddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees return to terrorize the teenagers of Elm Street. Only this time, they're out to get each other, too.5.5/10. Plays like the action blockbuster of horror films. The two horror icons go at it and results are mixed. Not terrible but pretty underwhelming.
- DirectorSean S. CunninghamStarsBetsy PalmerAdrienne KingJeannine TaylorA group of teenage camp counselors attempt to re-open an abandoned summer camp with a tragic past, but they are stalked by a mysterious, relentless killer.5/10. Still perplexed how this is the film that launched the franchise. Incredibly lazy, derivative rip-off of Halloween. Good atmosphere but not scary in the least.
- DirectorJames IsaacStarsKane HodderLexa DoigJeff GeddisJason Voorhees is cryogenically frozen at the beginning of the 21st century, and is discovered in the 25th century and taken to space. He gets thawed, and begins stalking and killing the crew of the spaceship that's transporting him.3.5/10. An intentional parody of an inconsistent series that is still too self aware to actually be good. Stupid and so far away from the simple slashers that this series used to consist of.
- DirectorAdam MarcusStarsJohn D. LeMayKari KeeganKane HodderSerial killer Jason Voorhees' supernatural origins are revealed.3/10. A mess of a movie that tries to introduce supernatural elements into Jason's lore. A failure on pretty much every level and tied with Jason Takes Manhattan as the worst in the series. Only notable for Creighton Duke.
- DirectorRob HeddenStarsJensen DaggettKane HodderTodd CaldecottJason Voorhees is accidentally awakened from his watery grave and ends up stalking a ship full of graduating high-school students headed to Manhattan, New York.3/10. Absolutely unwatchable dogsh*t.
