Born in San Diego, California, Betsy Russell is best known for her starring role as "Jill Tuck," the ex-wife of the Jigsaw Killer in the "Saw" film series. Russell was born into a family of educators--her father, iconic economist Richard Russell, wrote a news letter about the stock market for over 50 years called "Dow Theory Letters," and her grandfather, Max Lerner, was an author and syndicated columnist, said to be one of the great minds of our time. Russell seemed to be destined for greatness and decided to set the bar high for herself when making career moves and setting goals. At 16 years of age she landed her first real gig in the business, a Pepsi commercial in her hometown of San Diego, California. This sparked a fire within her, and she immediately made the move to Los Angeles to pursue acting full time.
Russell landed her first TV role on the series The Powers of Matthew Star (1982) with one line. After that TV roles began to pour in, until she landed an audition for a film that would change her career: the cult classic Private School (1983). She booked the role on the spot, being cast as "Jordon Leigh-Jensen," playing opposite her idol Phoebe Cates. The film launched Russell into Hollywood stardom, and she quickly became known as the "it-girl". Her scene riding a horse topless in slow motion made her an '80s icon. She continued to work steadily in film, starring in such films as Tomboy (1985), Avenging Angel (1985) and Cheerleader Camp (1988), and did guest-starring roles in such top-rated television series as The A-Team (1983), T.J. Hooker (1982) and Family Ties (1982). At the height of her career she met actor and tennis star Vincent Van Patten at The Playboy Mansion, where she visited frequently as her grandfather was a close friend of Hugh Hefner. Van Patten and Russell married in 1989 and had two beautiful boys. She decided to take a hiatus from acting, to focus on her family and raising her children.
Van Patten and Russell divorced in 2001, and she decided to move to Malibu, California, to continue raising her family. Soon after her divorce she received a call from "Saw" producer Mark Burg about an upcoming role in the series. Russell jumped at the opportunity to work in one of the biggest horror franchises in the history of film, and returned to the screen starring as "Jill Tuck" in Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures' Saw III (2006), Saw IV (2007), Saw V (2008), Saw VI (2009) and Saw 3D (2010).
Russell is an avid writer, has a huge passion for various charities, she holds a real-estate license and is a certified hypnotist. While she continues to love acting, she considers "Spiritual Psychology" and life coaching her other passion. She completed a three-year Masters program at The University of Santa Monica in this field, with an emphasis on consciousness health and healing, and hopes to help others with healing their issues and learning communication skills and has begun teaching workshops to actors on this subject.- Canadian actress Athena Karkanis began her professional career in acting in 1996 with several episodes of Stickin' Around (1996). Mira Katherine Sorvino was born on September 28, 1967 in Manhattan. She is the daughter of Lorraine Davis, an actress turned drama therapist, and veteran character actor Paul Sorvino. Her father's family were Italian immigrants. The young Sorvino was intelligent, an avid reader and an exceptional scholar. Her father discouraged her from becoming an actor, as he knew how the industry often chews up young stars. She attended Harvard, majoring in Chinese, graduating magna cum laude in 1989, largely on the strength of her thesis, a Hoopes Prize-winning thesis on racial conflict in China, written and researched during the year spent in Beijing, which helped her fluency in Mandarin Chinese.
However, she showed interest in a career in acting from an early age, and moved to New York City to try her hand in the City's film industry, waitressing, auditioning and working at the Tribeca production company of Robert De Niro. She succeeded in getting a little television work in the early 1990s, but got her first film job in the independent gangster movie Amongst Friends (1993), on which she worked her way up the ladder behind the camera to eventually associate-produce the film, and, more importantly, was eventually cast as the female lead. The indie production was well-received, and Sorvino's performance attracted enough buzz to get her cast in two more movies, one a more prominent indie, Barcelona (1994), the other her first Hollywood feature, Quiz Show (1994), and her skillful performances brought her yet more attention.
An exceptionally poised and articulate young woman, she may have seemed inappropriate to play a crazy hooker, but Woody Allen took the chance, and her magnificent performance as the female lead in his Mighty Aphrodite (1995) proved her range as a performer and earned her an Oscar (at the tender age of 29) for Best Supporting Actress. Since winning the Oscar, Sorvino has continued to take a wide range of roles, including another stretch as Marilyn Monroe in Norma Jean & Marilyn (1996), co-starring with another very intelligent and skilled young actress, Ashley Judd. Forays into action and horror, such as Mimic (1997) and The Replacement Killers (1998) show that Sorvino is not above being playful in the film roles she chooses.
However, what forever cemented her role in popular culture was her performance as charmingly silly California beach girl Romy White in Romy and Michele's High School Reunion (1997), in which she and co-star Lisa Kudrow utter one hilarious absurdity after another.
Mira Sorvino married Christopher Backus on June 11, 2004, and the couple have four children.- Actress

Kristy Swanson is an American actress from California. She has had an active acting career since the 1980s. Her most memorable role was playing the original version of Buffy Summers in the horror comedy "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" (1992).
Swanson was born in Mission Viejo, California, a planned community in Orange County. It is located in a hilly region, 49 miles (79 kilometers) southeast of Los Angeles. Swanson developed an interest in acting in early childhood. She started pursuing roles in television commercials at the age of 9, and first appeared in a commercial for doll houses. She continued to regularly appear in commercials for a few years.
Swanson received acting lessons from "The Actors Workshop", an acting school developed by Canadian actor R. J. Adams (1942 -2015). In 1984, Swanson started appearing in one-shot roles in television. She gained attention for playing Stephanie Brandon in the episode "On the Street" (1985) of the police procedural "Cagney & Lacey". Her character was a teenage prostitute who was considered a key witness in a murder trial. For this role Swanson was nominated for a Young performer award, the "Best Young Actress - Guest in a Television Series". The award was instead won by rival actress Jaclyn Bernstein.
In 1986, Swanson had the supporting role of Jennifer Davis in the television film "Mr. Boogedy", a ghost story about a haunted house in New England. She had a minor role in the teen comedy-drama film "Pretty in Pink" (1986). as the new love interest of the character Duckie Dale (played by Jon Cryer). She had her first speaking role in a film in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off", as a girl who announces a convoluted excuse to explain the main character's absence. Swanson had her co-starring role in a film in "Deadly Friend" (1986), a science fiction horror film by famed director Wes Craven. It gained a cult following over the following decades.
Swanson's next starring role was in the psychological horror film "Flowers in the Attic" (1987), concerning children held captive by their abusive family. She played Cathy Dollanganger, the elder sister among the captives. The film earned about 15,2 million dollars at the domestic box office. There were plans for a sequel film, but it ended in development hell. In 1987, Swanson joined the cast of the soap opera Knots Landing (1979-1993), in the recurring role of Jody Campbell. She appeared in a total of 8 episodes, leaving the series in 1988.
Swanson had her first main role in a television series in the short-lived medical drama "Nightingales" (1989), where she played student nurse Rebecca "Becky" Granger. The series was controversial at the time for its overly sexualized depiction of nurses. It inspired a protest campaign by the American Nurses Association, causing several sponsors to withdraw their support from their series. The series was canceled after a single season and 13 episodes, plus a television film. There was later a revival of the series' concept under the title "University Hospital" (1995), but Swanson was not involved with the revival series.
Swanson had her first film role in years in the romantic comedy "Dream Trap" (1990). The film depicted the romantic fantasies two teenagers have about each other. Her co-star for this film was Sasha Jenson (1964-). Swanson's next notable film role was in the fantasy comedy "Mannequin Two: On the Move" (1991). She played Jessie, a 14th-century peasant girl who was turned into a statue by a sorcerer. She is revived in the late 20th century, and falls in love with a descendant of her original lover. In the film, Buffy is a high school cheerleader with an ordinary life, who discovers that she is the latest in a long line of female vampire slayers. She has to stop a vampire army from taking over Los Angeles, at the cost of alienating her friends and losing her boyfriend. The film was modestly successful at the box office, earning about 17 million dollars. It was more successful in the home video market, and inspired the spin-off television series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" (1997-2003). Swanson played the role of heiress Natalie Voss in the action comedy "The Chase" (1994). In 1998, Swanson was part of the cast in the disaster film "Ground Control". The film concerned the efforts of air traffic controller to perform their duties during a severe storm and a power outage. Swanson was reduced to a supporting role in the comedy film "Big Daddy" (1999), playing an ex-girlfriend of the film's main character, slacker Sonny Koufax (played by Adam Sandler). The film was a surprise box office hit, earning 73.2 million dollars at the worldwide box office. It was Swanson's highest grossing film in nearly a decade.
In 2001, Swanson played Interpol agent Tessa Jansen in the thriller film "Soul Assassin". The film depicted assassinations connected to a multinational banking firm. It was one of Swanson'ts last appearances in a feature film during the 2000s. Her career declined considerably during this decade. She was reduced to playing infrequent guest-star roles in then-popular television series, such as "Just Shoot Me!", "CSI: Miami", and "Law & Order: Criminal Intent".

Alice Jane Evans was born in 1968 to David Evans, a professor of Applied Mathematics at Bristol University and Janet Evans, a teacher of English literature. Alice gained a degree in French and Italian from University College, London, and then moved to Paris where she studied acting at the Cours Florent. She quickly began to work, mainly in French television but also in the very successful Italian miniseries Le ragazze di Piazza di Spagna (1998) as "Nathalie", a French student who is forced to come to grips with the realities of life when she finds out she is pregnant by a man she is not supposed to be with. This was particularly challenging as Alice played the role in Italian, but had to loop the entire film later on because her own accent in Italian sounded too British and not French enough! Her first big break came when her first feature, Monsieur Naphtali (1999) was brought to the attention of Oscar-winning director Claude Lelouch, who invited her to audition for a film he was writing, Une pour toutes (1999) and, after three callbacks, cast her in one of the three lead roles. Alice played "Macha", one of three actresses who, after a failed production of Anton Chekhov's "Three Sisters", invent a scheme to swindle wealthy men out of money and eventually end up making the film of the story of their lives. The film was a critical, if not commercial success. Anne Parillaud and Marianne Denicourt co-starred.
Aside from an episode of TV show "Highlander", Alice did not act in her mother tongue, English, until 1999 when Disney cast her as the lead in 102 Dalmatians (2000) alongside Glenn Close, Gérard Depardieu and Ioan Gruffudd. This was a huge break for Alice but it was marred by tragedy. Her beloved mother, Janet, suffered a fatal heart attack whilst out walking her dog, less than 24 hours before Alice's final screen test for the role. The story goes that she never told her mother about the test and was hoping to surprise her if she won the role. Janet was only 59. In a strange twist, the actor she first met only hours after losing her mother was to become her closest friend. Alice became very close to Ioan Gruffudd during the shoot and they became a couple in late 2000. They got engaged in 2005.
In 2000, Alice shot Best of Both Worlds (2001) for the BBC, in which she played "Diane", an air stewardess who is a wife and mother, who begins a relationship with a man in Italy, where she flies three times a week and eventually marries him and embarks on a double life. The series was written by acclaimed writer Paul Abbott and Alice received glowing reviews for her performance. In 2002, she was cast by Mel Smith as the lead in Blackball (2003) alongside James Cromwell and Vince Vaughn. The film was a commercial and critical flop and other commercially unsuccessful British and European films followed. Perhaps because of this, Alice moved to Los Angeles, California in 2003. In the United States, she has worked in both film (Four Corners of Suburbia (2005)) and television (CSI: Miami (2002), The Chris Isaak Show (2001)), although she still continues to work in the United Kingdom, most recently alongside Alistair McGowan in a new series for BBC One and with Billy Boyd and Eva Birthistle in the Independent feature Save Angel Hope (2007).

It was this winsome portrayal that brought her to the attention of renowned television producer Steven Bochco, who cast her opposite Anthony LaPaglia and Mary McCormack, as inscrutable murder defendant "Sharon Rooney" for a seven-episode run in the second season of his highly acclaimed ABC series, "Murder One" (1996). The 1990s proved busy with several other works: ABC's "A Mother's Revenge" (1993) (TV), opposite Shirley Knight and Lesley Ann Warren; a Hallmark Hall of Fame production, "Jane's House" (1994) (TV) opposite James Woods and Anne Archer; Peter Benchley's eight-hour miniseries for NBC, "The Beast" (1996) (TV), opposite William Petersen; Stephen King's "Quicksilver Highway" (1997) (TV), opposite Christopher Lloyd; Paramount Pictures "Sins of the Mind" (1997) (TV); "Conversations in Limbo" (1998); and the quirky independent film, "Stand-ins" (1997), in which Crider drones in German alto octave when portraying Marlene Dietrich's savvy, wise-cracking double, spewing 1930s banter with fellow stand-ins Bette Davis, Jean Harlow, Mae West, Rita Hayworth and Greta Garbo.
In the fall of 1999, Crider's manager received a phone call from Steven Spielberg. He shared that he had recently seen her work on ABC's "Strange World" (1999) and wanted to write a leading role specifically for her in his NBC/Dreamworks one-hour drama series, "The Others" (2000). The role had originally been written as an elderly American Indian woman and was rewritten for Crider to play "Satori", a gifted psychic, opposite fellow telepaths Bill Cobbs, Julianne Nicholson, and Gabriel Macht. The series in the vein of the cult-following film, "Dead Poets Society" (1989), aired for 14 episodes on Saturday nights in 2000 and 2001. Proving equally adept with humor, Crider completed a co-starring role in producer/director Mike Binder's award-winning feature film comedy, "The Sex Monster" (1999), joining an ensemble cast including Mariel Hemingway, Kevin Pollak and Stephen Baldwin, winning Best Picture at the 1999 Aspen Comedy Festival. Crider plays "Diva", a beautiful young secretary who becomes the unwitting object of both her employer's and his wife's affections. Bill Paxton met Crider at a screening of "The Sex Monster" (1999) and cast her in his feature-film directorial debut set in rural Texas, "Frailty" (2001), playing Matthew McConaughey's southern pregnant wife.
After playing Matthew McConaughey's wife, Crider landed a coveted role in David Lynch's acclaimed feature film, "Mulholland Drive" (2001), as "Diane/Betty", a smart, hip, mysterious waitress who dreams of becoming an actress and served as the projection of Naomi Watts' character's fragile identity. During this period, Crider also joined an all-star cast opposite Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez, Al Pacino, and Christopher Walken in Revolution Studios' romantic comedy, "Gigli" (2003), written and directed by Martin Brest, cast by Ellen Lewis. She joined the cast of the suspense indie ensemble, "Reeseville" (2003) when Director Gregory Hatanaka also offered her the lead role of "Mina" in his ensemble indie film about the challenges of Hollywood couples, "Until the Night" (2004), in which she plays the girlfriend of hopeful cinematographer Norman Reedus. Crider was also offered the female lead in an original Hallmark Channel telefilm, "Out of the Woods" (2005) (TV), opposite Jason London and Edward Asner shot in the Redwoods in Northern California.
In the 2000s, Crider starred, guest starred, and was delighted to be invited to recur in numerous hit films and TV shows. FOX offered Crider the role of "Rita Brady" during the height of their highly acclaimed TV show, "24" (2001), opposite Kiefer Sutherland. FOX invited her back to recur for 4 consequent episodes: "Day 6: 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. (#6.5)" (2007), "Day 6: 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. (#6.6)" (2007), "Day 6: 12:00 p.m.- 1:00 p.m. (#6.7) (2007)", "Day 6: 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. (#6.8)" (2007). The highly successful TV producer, Dick Wolf, personally invited Crider to rejoin the Law & Order family in New York when she shot an episode of "Law & Order: SVU: Catfishing Teacher (#17.10)" (2016), opposite Ice-T and Mariska Hargitay, ten years after Wolf had originally cast her in a lead guest star role in "Law & Order: Criminal Intent: Bedfellows (#6.5)" (2006), opposite Vincent D'Onofrio, Katie Erbe, and Rip Torn. Other works during this period included: "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Burked (#2.1)" (2001), "Instinct to Kill" (2001), "CSI: Miami: Lost Son (#3.1)" (2004), Showtime's "Huff: A Cornfield Grows in L.A. (#2.8)" (2006), "Huff: Tapping The Squid (#2.11)" (2006), "Seclusion" (2006), "House: Role Model (#1.17) (2005), "Criminal Minds: Pay It Forward (#8.19)" (2013), "Mistresses: Open House (#2.3)" (2014), "The Guardian: Solidarity (#1.16)" (2002), "Without a Trace: One and Only (#5.22)" (2007), "Along the Way" (2007), the CW's "90210: Zero Tolerance (#1.23)" (2009), "Butterfly Dreaming" (2008), "The Cry of the Butterfly" (2014) opposite Dee Wallace Stone, and more.

Born in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, Ali began modeling at age thirteen, and traveled the world before moving to Los Angeles to study acting. Her first professional acting job was a role on the television series Chicago Sons (1997). She received her breakthrough in the high school football drama Varsity Blues (1999) which included her infamous whipped cream bikini scene. Roles in the horror films House on Haunted Hill (1999) and Final Destination (2000) further transitioned her career as an actress.
Acting alongside Colin Farrell, Larter starred in the Western comedy, American Outlaws (2001) which performed poorly at the box office. That year, she also starred as "Brooke Taylor Windham" in the comedy Legally Blonde (2001) with Reese Witherspoon.
Not happy with how things were going, Larter moved to New York in 2002 to reassess her life and career. She reprized her role as "Clear Rivers" in the sequel Final Destination 2 (2003) for which she received star billing. A year later, she made a cameo appearance as herself on the pilot to the HBO comedy drama Entourage (2004) and starred in Three Way (2004) as "Isobel Delano". She had a role in A Lot Like Love (2005) as "Gina."
Larter moved back to Los Angeles in 2006 where she auditioned for a role in the NBC sci-fi drama Heroes (2006). The pilot premiered on September 25, 2006 to successful ratings and many critics declaring it "the new Lost (2004)". The series ran for a total of 77 episodes in 4 Seasons when it was canceled due to diminishing ratings and high production costs. There has been interest in a mini-series or a movie to wrap up story lines.
During her time on Heroes (2006), Larter made several appearances on film. The first was the Bollywood film Marigold (2007) where she received a seven-figure salary. The movie was met with primarily negative reviews. She also starred in Resident Evil: Extinction (2007), part 3 of the popular film franchise based on the Capcom video games.
