- DirectorTim BurtonStarsMichael KeatonJack NicholsonKim BasingerThe Dark Knight of Gotham City begins his war on crime with his first major enemy being Jack Napier, a criminal who becomes the clownishly homicidal Joker. What can I say? Tim Burton did it better than everyone. Keaton is also at his absolute best along with Jack Nicholson who portrayed the Joker perfectly.
- DirectorTim BurtonStarsMichael KeatonDanny DeVitoMichelle PfeifferWhile Batman deals with a deformed man calling himself the Penguin wreaking havoc across Gotham with the help of a cruel businessman, a female employee of the latter becomes the Catwoman with her own vendetta. The first Batman film I ever seen as a kid and the darkest you'll ever see. With it taking place during the Christmas holiday, it fits the tone perfectly. Plus, Michelle Pfeiffer to this day remains stunning as Catwoman. Can't and won't ever be outdo.
- DirectorTodd PhillipsStarsJoaquin PhoenixRobert De NiroZazie BeetzDuring the 1980s, a failed stand-up comedian is driven insane and turns to a life of crime and chaos in Gotham City while becoming an infamous psychopathic crime figure. Some will argue if it can technically be counted as a "Batman" film, but since the Bruce Wayne character is featured and his name plays a key role in the film's plot I'm including it. Aside, from the amazing and mind blowing story Joaquin Phoenix takes the role of the Joker to whole new level that we've never seen before and might not ever see again. It has to be considered as one of the best performances of all time.
- DirectorChristopher NolanStarsChristian BaleHeath LedgerAaron EckhartWhen the menace known as the Joker wreaks havoc and chaos on the people of Gotham, Batman must accept one of the greatest psychological and physical tests of his ability to fight injustice.I was absolutely blown away when it initially released mostly due to Heath Ledger's surprising performance, and it became my favorite Batman film of all time, but after recently viewing it.. it made me realize just how much it would suffer without Ledger or even Eckhart. Bale as Batman is probably the most irrelevant thing about the film.
- DirectorChristopher NolanStarsChristian BaleMichael CaineKen WatanabeAfter witnessing his parents' death, Bruce learns the art of fighting to confront injustice. When he returns to Gotham as Batman, he must stop a secret society that intends to destroy the city.Great showing of the origins of Batman, and Liam Neeson plays Ra's al Ghul amazingly. My only issue with it is the misuse of Cillian Murphy as "Scarecrow" who only gets a decent 5 minutes of screen time. Another positive is Katie Holmes portrayal as Rachel, who I prefer much more over Maggie Gyllenhaal.
- DirectorJoel SchumacherStarsVal KilmerTommy Lee JonesJim CarreyBatman must battle former district attorney Harvey Dent, who is now Two-Face and Edward Nygma, The Riddler with help from an amorous psychologist and a young circus acrobat who becomes his sidekick, Robin.Yeah, you're reading this ranking correctly. I enjoy 'Batman Forever" more than I do the Dark Knight Rises. Although, if Burton served as the director in addition to producer it would be ten times better. Val Kilmer also played Batman pretty decently. In retrospect, it's absolutely weird seeing Jim Carry and Tommy Lee Jones in the movie. Personally, I would've had Johnny Depp (Riddler) and a returning Billy Dee Williams in those roles instead.
- DirectorZack SnyderStarsBen AffleckHenry CavillAmy AdamsBatman is manipulated by Lex Luthor to fear Superman. Superman´s existence is meanwhile dividing the world and he is framed for murder during an international crisis. The heroes clash and force the neutral Wonder Woman to reemerge.Yes, once again you're reading this correctly. Affleck isn't a great Batman by any means, but seeing Batman and Superman on screen in a live action film was so surreal, especially if you've been a fan as long as I have. Shame how much they dropped the ball with it.
- DirectorChristopher NolanStarsChristian BaleTom HardyAnne HathawayEight years after the Joker's reign of chaos, Batman is coerced out of exile with the assistance of the mysterious Selina Kyle in order to defend Gotham City from the vicious guerrilla terrorist Bane.It absolutely baffles me how many consider this to be the "Greatest" Batman movie ever made when it did absolutely nothing except drag out and go longer than it needed to. Mostly at times I found it incredibly boring and underwhelming. Especially compared to the previous Nolan films. Most overrated Batman movie by far.
- DirectorLeslie H. MartinsonStarsAdam WestBurt WardLee MeriwetherThe Dynamic Duo faces four supervillains who plan to hold the world for ransom with the help of a secret invention that instantly dehydrates people.Different period, and it's self-aware of what it is, but it's not something I (someone from the modern age) expect from a Batman film. The cast were great in their roles, but there has been way better portrayals. Way too campy for me.
- DirectorJoel SchumacherStarsArnold SchwarzeneggerGeorge ClooneyChris O'DonnellBatman and Robin try to keep their relationship together even as they must stop Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy from freezing Gotham City. Can't say you're surprised, can you? This abomination should be at the bottom of everyone's list. Even today 20 years later I can't find a single thing I like about it. Every aspect including the infamous "Bat nipples" is just brutally awful. Not only is it the worst Batman movie ever, but it's one of the worst movies ever.
