- DirectorTodd HowardStarsJeff BakerJonathan BryceLynda CarterThe protagonist travels by Morrowind, eastern province of the Septim Empire in Tamriel. He/she can save it from enslavement or explore for personal purposes.Morrowind is the best Elder Scrolls game. Not oblivion, and not skyrim. Want a reason why? Well Morrowind is just a complete rig with a compelling story, but thats not the main reason. The game gives you no direction what so ever. You might think of that as something bad but it really isn't. By doing this, the third installment of the series really let your live out your imagination. Instead of chasing objective and fast travel everywhere, you basically had to find the way, and therefore explore and enjoy the big adventure to its fullest. Morrowinds gameplay was also flawless RPG-wise, and therefore its my favorite Elder Scrolls game.
- DirectorTodd HowardStarsMax von SydowChristopher PlummerJoan AllenAfter escaping execution, the last living Dragonborn must grow in strength and power to defeat the dragons that have once again begun to plague the land of Skyrim.I actually really dug Skyrim. Put aside the fact that it was extremely bugged on release day, and was a hell to play for playstation fans, Skyrim was really good. The atmosphere and nature of the game was as nordic as it could get, and the combat system and inventory system worked better than on Oblivion i thought. The gameplay was magnificent, the story was magnificent, the game was magnificent.
- DirectorTodd HowardStarsSean BeanLynda CarterTerence StampAfter being freed by the Emperor of Tamriel, the hero must prevent the gates of Oblivion from spreading throughout the Empire.Someone older than me who perhaps loved the old CD games on Pc, might find it to be "Blasphemy" that i place these three newest games in the series so high. Oblivion was a step in another direction than previous installments. This time it was more action and sandbox based. Like a fantasy version of GTA if you will. It wasn't bad. I used most of my high school years to play Oblivion, and i am sure i have clocked in over 500 hours at it, but you can't deny one thing. Its not as fun as Morrowind. I would even say its a downgrade from that game. Things got better in skyrim though. In short: Oblivion has its flaws, but its a great game none the less.
- DirectorJulian LeFayThe Emperor of Tamriel asks you to investigate the strange case of Lysandus, the King of Daggerfall. He died on the field of battle but his spirit did not rest, and still haunts Daggerfall city.Daggerfall was really hard. And i mean really hard. Don't believe me? Try it. Its probably the most challenging Elder Scrolls game out there. They even made the decision to make the controls even more complicated, but when you get down into it Daggerfall is a really well done rpg. For its time it was considered a very good game, but its one of those games that hasn't really stood the test of time. Now don't start raging in the comments. I do like this game, but in the elder scrolls series, its not the strongest.
- DirectorVijay LakshmanFirst-person action role-playing game in which the protagonist must rescue the Emperor Uriel Septim VII from his dimensional prison by recovering the eight pieces of the Staff of Chaos. When the first Elder Scrolls game was released, it fit into the early PC audience perfectly. A 2D dungeon crawler in first person. This was something that any old pc gamer could enjoy. And the game was groundbreaking. Elder Scrolls 1 just like oblivion has its flaws, but its not a bad game either. It brought with it games like Diablo that had the RPG elements, but not countless amounts of dialogue, but rather fast paced action. This was one of the games that set the rules for future games, And i take my hat off to Bethesda for it.
- DirectorTodd HowardStarsMichael HowellMichael MackJonathan BryceYou play as Cyrus, a Redguard who had exiled himself from his homeland of Hammerfell after killing his sister's husband. Cyrus later hears of his sister's disappearance, and goes to Stros M'Kai in order to find his missing sister, Iszara. What the hell is this, your probably asking yourself right now? Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard was a spinoff released in 1998. It took all the elements that made The Elder Scrolls revolutionary, and took a step back. Remember what i said about The Elder Scrolls being one of the first games, to mix action and roleplaying? well Elder Scrolls Adventures was a simple old school rpg in third person. I have found some mysterious corners of the internet where some consider this the best elder scrolls game, but those are few. Because it isn't.
