At 22, Joe made a spec Tesla short that Elon Musk himself discovered online and shared on Tesla's homepage. This jumpstarted Joe's career into commercial and short form content that led to directing projects for top brands such as Apple, NASA, Disney, Nike, Google, Amazon, LEGO, Blizzard, and Warner Bros. Games.
In 2016, he was approached by Apple Music and NASA to conceptualize and direct a cinematic short documentary featuring NASA'S Juno Mission, where he worked closely with SwRI Director of the Space Science and Engineering Division and Juno Principal Investigator Scott Bolton as well as the late visionary scientist Eric de Jong to explore the evident relationship between art, music and science. The film was then scored by Oscar-winning composers Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross (The Social Network, Watchmen, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo).
At 25, Joe directed his first feature film, "Stray", starring Karen Fukuhara (The Boys, Suicide Squad) and Miyavi (Unbroken), and in 2020, Joe directed a cyberpunk sci-fi proof of concept, Autonomous, that drew the attention of Jon Berg (Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Doctor Sleep) and Greg Silverman (The Dark Knight, Dunkirk, Gravity) of Stampede Pictures who developed it as a series.
In 2020, Joe founded Impossible Objects, a virtual production company helping to define the future of film and entertainment by embracing next-generation real time processes such as game engines and LED volume stages to streamline content production. The company has established key relationships and partnerships in the space between film, gaming and technology, and has built and innovated projects and workflows with a growing list of clients such as Blizzard, Google Play, Western Digital, Honda, and Toyota.
The team at Impossible Objects is producing a film directed by Harald Kloser (2012, The Day After Tomorrow, 10,000 B.C.), utilizing the best of virtual production tools to demonstrate a case study for the future of independent filmmaking. They are also developing an independent feature film, "The Cloud Racer", that Joe directed a proof of concept for, combining the worlds of Top Gun and Star Wars to deliver a new experience of race film and science fiction escapism.
IO is also building out a roster of filmmakers who will specifically work in virtual production to pioneer new stories, choosing creatives who have a knack for cinematic storytelling but also have the technical mindset to adopt new toolsets.- Director

Leos Carax made several short films and also wrote film criticism, then at the age of 24 years made a very strong first feature Boy Meets Girl (1984). The film played at the 1984 Cannes film festival and was a critical triumph. It paved the way for Carax's second feature Bad Blood (1986) (Bad Blood). That film was a giant step forward in the same direction that he was going in with his first film. Both films were visually stunning and focused on young love and also alienation. With his reputation and talent at its peak, he set out to make what seemed it seemed like would be another triumph. The Lovers on the Bridge (1991) (The Lovers on the Bridge) was the result of three long years of very difficult production; Carax spent a fortune building some of the sets and filming some mind-blowing sequences. Unfortunately, neither critics nor audiences favored what was a truly grand vision of the themes he dealt with in his first two films. Carax went into an a 8 year long exile, but finally returned with Pola X (1999). It was a departure from his other films and another critical flop.- Writer

Jeremy Saulnier has slyly defined a unique cinematic aesthetic that complements his idiosyncratic narrative premises. His sophomore feature, Blue Ruin (2013) a quirky, crime drama set in a pretty, but grimier part of suburban America was a festival darling and supplanted his name within the independent movie scene. His upcoming project Green Room looks like more of the same strangely engaging stuff from the incredibly promising writer/director.- Writer

Born in 1991 in Nalchik, capital of the Autonomous Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria, in the North Caucasus, Kantemir Balagov leaves the city for Stavropol where he undertakes studies in economics. But the twenty-three-year-old man's interest is elsewhere and, while being passionate about photography, he decides to join the film department of the Nalchik University founded and directed by Alexander Sokurov. There, he directs three short films, including the documentary "Andriouchka" (2014) and "Me first" (2015), his graduation work. His first feature film, "Tesnota - A Cramped Life", inspired by a real news item (the kidnapping of a fiancée on the eve of her wedding), stands out for its bitter, very personal style and its sense of space (everything is cramped, as the subtitle indicates). This atypical film has earned him the Fipresci Prize at Cannes in 2017 as well as the Grand Jury Prize and the Award for Best Actress at the Premiers Plans Film Festival in Angers in 2018. His second feature, "Beanpole", even more ambitious in that it is a period drama, set in Leningrad in 1945, is the riveting account of the friendship binding two women trying hard to re-adapt to civilian life. This major work won the Best Direction Award at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival in the "Un Certain regard" section.- Director
