Most Controversial Movies
Movies, tv shows and tv show episodes considered to be the worst, the most hated or the most divisive in the fandom or the audience to a point of preventing the movie of being enjoyable. It could be because they were disloyal to the original content it was based on or inspired from or simply because it was poorly written or executed. Lacking or had terrible character arcs, plot, visual design and effects, acting or someway along their life it lost its quality. Although generally it's a personal opinion most of them are publicly regarded as really bad movies critically and entertainment-wise.

- DirectorJames WongStarsJustin ChatwinJames MarstersChow Yun-FatThe young warrior Son Goku sets out on a quest, racing against time and the vengeful King Piccolo, to collect a set of seven magical orbs that will grant their wielder unlimited power. No words, no F******NG words
- DirectorRian JohnsonStarsDaisy RidleyJohn BoyegaMark HamillRey develops her abilities with the help of Luke Skywalker, as the Resistance prepares for battle against the First Order.Personally: I like/hate this movie. I like the new tropes-breaking ideas Rian Johnson was trying to give Star Wars trying to pull an Empire Strikes back of expectations' subversion, but it fell flat. As of today (MAY 2020) I stand in that I like the character arcs of Rey, Kylo Ren and even Luke (very roughly) but the rest of the movie falls down hard: the casino scene, the pursuit plot, the misuse of Finn, Poe and unfortunately Rose; and the stupid plan of Holdo ruin the entire film to me. I find myself only enjoying the Jedi story and not the Rebellion one which is the other 50 to 60%
- DirectorJon WattsStarsTom HollandMichael KeatonRobert Downey Jr.Peter Parker balances his life as an ordinary high school student in Queens with his superhero alter-ego Spider-Man, and finds himself on the trail of a new menace prowling the skies of New York City.IS A CURSE BEING A COMICBOOK-SPIDERMAN FAN: Unlike Far From Home (the sequel) where it did hit on the right notes in terms of plot and characterisation and it felt loyal NOT TO THE COMICS (I lost that battle long ago) but to the SPIRIT of the stories and the characters' motivations. Nevertheless, the things I didn't like in this movie I coped with thanks to the good stuff but in the prequel (THIS MOVIE) it unfortunately introduced me to the things I don't like which are the side characters. And I HATE some of them as in the comics they are as important as the adventures of Spiderman, if not more. In this movie the plot is weird because it depends so much on Tony Stark plus the "spidey suit" is basically "ironspider" because it basically does everything for him(but, whatever, we actually get a small "if this be my destiny" scene when he doesn't have the suit so that's okay... i guess, doesn't matter because he gets it again after), the sexy Aunt May doesn't work, Michelle's personality doesn't mach MJ's which has a REALLY IMPORTANT POINT IN SPIDERMAN'S HISTORY, this version of Ned Leeds character is a carbon copy of another Spiderman character recently introduced to the world Miles Morales which is for him what Harry Osborn is for Peter (which btw, now Harry serves no purpose if it was introduced because Peter already has a best friend forever unless...) on the other hand it DESTROYS a possible real Ned Leeds character which, I don't want to spoil anything, has a MAJOR twist in the comics...; Liz Allen is okay I guess, but like, the only thing that's not violated in its purpose. I got nothing against the race you give to the characters as long as they share the same purpose in the story. Also, I have no idea how they are going to introduce Gwen Stacy properly (unlike Spiderman 3) without twisting her purpose too... Whatever, I hate this movie. The sequel is good tho, if you ignore all the SHIT this movie set before...
- DirectorDavid BenioffD.B. WeissStarsPeter DinklageNikolaj Coster-WaldauLena HeadeyIn the aftermath of the devastating attack on King's Landing, Daenerys must face the survivors.F***k me, I don't have anything against this particular episode but rather the WHOLE SEASON! And not on what happened but HOW it was made, with too few episodes to properly flesh out all the plots that the last seasons have been building up to or just elements that were amazing just to never be used again: what happened to Arya's face-changing ability? Where is Daario in the most dire situation on mankind? where are all the red witches from the lord of light to help? why is Jon taken to the wall when the Wall itself is of no need now that the Night King has died...(I guess that and other things can be explained further in the story, books, series whatever but still, CLIFF HANGERS MAN!)
- DirectorPamela FrymanStarsJason SegelAlyson HanniganNeil Patrick HarrisAs the years go on, changes cause the group to drift apart, but they reunite one more time for Ted's wedding. Meanwhile, a monumental event causes Barney to finally change his ways. After 9 seasons of all the members of the crew making mistakes and growing past them, in a single episode it manages to undo that development for the sake of a WOW factor and nothing more, and that is unacceptable. It is known the creators wanted to keep the people talking after the series end but this is not how you do it, specially after you gave us from the beginning that premise. It doesn't subvert our expectations it just plains destroys our knowledge and understanding of the show's core message and teachings and undos everything (same sin Star Wars Last Jedi did but in a smaller but still damaging scale). Thankfully, an alternate ending was realeased after the backlash of the ending of the show and it sorta made up for the horrible ending decision. So thank you, i guess...
- DirectorChris BuckJennifer LeeStarsKristen BellIdina MenzelJonathan GroffFearless optimist Anna teams up with rugged mountain man Kristoff and his loyal reindeer Sven in an epic journey to find Anna's sister Elsa, whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter. The damage this movie has made to the animation industry of this century it's invisible to some people. It is so painfully average yet people praise it with such magnitude it really baffles me how audiences think and judge a movie. Are the other animated movies been released so bad that when a decent average one with one good average song comes up it is the foreseen second coming? That must be it because wow, movies like Moana have a much better music score than this movie and it's completely ignored by most audiences... What is going on!?
- DirectorDavid YatesStarsEddie RedmayneKatherine WaterstonDan FoglerGellert Grindelwald plans to raise an army of wizards to rule over non-magical beings. In response, Newt Scamander's former professor, Albus Dumbledore, seeks his help to stop him.Wow. Where to start. JK Rowling, honey, you are gonna need someone to look at your script every once in a while because girl, this is a mess of a story. Not even in a book would your script make sense. There are so many plot twists and sudden relationships between newly introduced characters with a sudden important past that it makes the audience wonder why the main characters are there if they serve ABSOLUTELY NO PURPOSE to the story. Newt Scamander could be taken out of this story, and it wouldn't change ANYTHING. Everything happens in a sequential fashion. The story actually focus on exactly the wrong people, because this story should have revolt around Grindelwald, the crazy exploding kid and NAgini, the LeStrange girl and her past and should never, NEVER, have ended with the reveal it ended with. Because it makes no f****ing sense. JK Rowling keeps retconning the marvelously crafted world of Harry Potter to adjust it to a more general and "less offensive" setting. You don't get it honey, you can't rewrite history, I got african-american friends who don't give a shit about you retconning Harry Potter characters to be more correct, they grew to know the story as it is and they hate more that you are trying to change it to make them feel more inserted than living it as it is, outdated but coherent. It doesn't work that way. As always, I'll keep saying it DON'T RETCON THE PAST STORY, MAKE NEW STORIES WITH NEW CHARACTERS MORE VARIED! We are not stupid, we won't stop loving something we already love because we may not like the new characters, we would rejoice at the past and feel happy the story has adjusted to more updated eras, but don't change us our past!
- DirectorNeil BurgerStarsKevin HartBryan CranstonNicole KidmanA comedic look at the relationship between a wealthy man with quadriplegia and an unemployed man with a criminal record who's hired to help him.
- DirectorAnthony RussoJoe RussoStarsChris EvansRobert Downey Jr.Scarlett JohanssonPolitical involvement in the Avengers' affairs causes a rift between Captain America and Iron Man.Not only was it slow-paced, overwhelming (so many stories were being told that could easily fit into their own respective movies: the winter soldiers investigation by Bucky and Steve, the whole Avengers dealing with the destruction they caused and how people view them, the revenge of Black Panther, Captain Zemo's revenge against the avengers...) and uninspired (it draws inspiration from one of the BEST selling comic series of Marvel but it does so in so little magnitude, just like Planet Hulk in Thor Ragnarok); but it's really boring, like, there are absolutely NO STAKES whatsoever; they are all the time kidding around on how they are not going to kill eachother or anything like if it was just a family banter and tomorrow everything's gonna be alright. We are talking about an event in the comics that shook the entire Marvel Universe, or at least the earth heroes, the event where ideologies clashed on how to deal with a MAJOR catastrophe. By itself the story was really controversial and trust me, the fighting was no joke, heroes actually died and it had dire consequences to the rest of the lines of comics afterwards. This movie would have been great if it was done correctly, that's all.
- DirectorTony LeondisStarsT.J. MillerJames CordenAnna FarisGene, a multi-expressional emoji, sets out on a journey to become a normal emoji. The greatest example of a product of the dark ages in animation we are living and a cash-grab on the worst products to come out of social media and technology of this century.
- DirectorNeil LaButeStarsChris RockMartin LawrenceKeith DavidA funeral ceremony turns into a debacle of exposed family secrets and misplaced bodies.Copycat. I hate this kind of copycats, the same with "The Upside". Americanized copy of a foreign masterpiece of movie. I don't even care if it makes anybody laughs, the premise it's the essence of a movie and this one ain't funny
- DirectorSimon J. SmithSteve HicknerStarsJerry SeinfeldRenée ZellwegerMatthew BroderickBarry B. Benson, a bee just graduated from college, is disillusioned at his lone career choice: making honey. On a special trip outside the hive, Barry's life is saved by Vanessa, a florist in New York City. As their relationship blossoms, he discovers humans actually eat honey and subsequently decides to sue them.I have to say something about this movie because it trully damages the animation industry that people are now actually coming out to say it is good. I did not finish this movie, i left it half way for how odd and tone shifting the movie was becoming. I'm glad critics were harsh with it because not only does it have a weak, adult-driven plot but the animation is so bad, undetailed (just look at the cars, the 2004 The Incredibles movie had better car designs than this 2007 movie) and uninspired that it actually ruins even more the experience for me. It feels like a Simpsons episode with bad 3D TV animation, not a blockbuster feature movie from DreamWorks, my second favorite animation studios that made masterpieces like "Road to el Dorado", "Sinbad", "Shrek", "Megamind", "Madagascar" and many more. True, I'm an adult and can't watch animated movies with the same view as a kid, but I've looked passed flawed plots just to enjoy the animation and viceversa on many movies... But this movie, the plot tone-shift comes out of nowhere, I mean, there are a lot of good ideas very poorly executed. It goes all political all of a sudden with its bee-protection propaganda.. Not to mention it doesn't even fit the character of Barry. And what's with the Human-Bee romance? What is wrong with Dreamworks? You did Shrek so well, all the ideas the unlikely romances, the jokes... But here idk, maybe you wanted to cash on Jerry Seinfield-kind of humor because I didn't get it, all the jokes fall flat to me. Not to mention the voice acting is horrendous, unenergetic and sometimes it doesn't follow the expressions on the character animations. It's unfortunate because there are some ideas and characters that I liked but they just go down a path that doesn't make sense for the setting of the story or at least for me. Sorry
- CreatorJoe RubyKen SpearsStarsFrank WelkerGrey GriffinKate MicucciThe Scooby gang continues to solve mysteries during what could be their last summer together, but monsters and ghouls get in the way of completing their adventures.Badly animated and uninspired. Be gone, ghost of a better show!
- CreatorMichael JelenicAaron HorvathStarsGreg CipesScott MenvilleKhary PaytonSuperhero roommates Robin, Cyborg, Starfire, Raven and Beast Boy love saving the day, but what happens when they're done fighting crime?Although it is the continuation of its previous Teen Titans show, it doesn't feel like it neither in animation nor tone. Its redesign to appeal to a younger audience inevitably makes it loose its previous faithful fandom. What started as a well-crafted, character design and team dynamic with mature writing and smart animation evolves into another product of cheap TV Animation of these modern (dark) times. Where has the good tv animation of the early 2000s and 90s gone? traditional animation is not dead, it is just not made justice nowadays so nobody seems to enjoy it anymore. Audiences are not stupid, if they see quality animation they'd be drawn to the story and viceversa...

Will Kim save the world again or will high school bog her down?Good intention, unfortunately it looks like not many investors where excited with the idea. I like the casting as it tried to bring the same physicallity as their tv show counter parts, even visually it feels inspired from it, but if it only had a biggger budget and more heart to it this could be the new Tomb Raider/James Bond/Indiana Jones of blockbuster movies. If only.....

- DirectorJoe WrightStarsLevi MillerHugh JackmanGarrett HedlundTwelve-year-old orphan Peter is spirited away to the magical world of Neverland, where he finds both fun and danger, and ultimately discovers his destiny: to become the hero who will be forever known as Peter Pan.What the hell man, I loved the start, that insightful origin story of Peter Pan, then it just goes wild. I mean, Hugh Jackman... who dressed you, Tim Burton? And what's with Hook being good? What's with native-american princess Tiger Lily being played by a white actress? (this my dear friend is white washing for no reason) What is wrong with this movie! Butchering every character in alas of the inexistent "Peter Pan" Cinematic Universe or possible sequels that will never come. Too bad, there were a lot of visual and plot-wise themes I really liked.
- DirectorBarry SonnenfeldStarsWill SmithKevin KlineKenneth BranaghThe two best special agents in the Wild West must save President Grant from the clutches of a diabolical, wheelchair-bound, steampunk-savvy, Confederate scientist bent on revenge for losing the Civil War.Oh Will Smith, you and I will forever regret you didn't go out to do the Matrix, although, we wouldn't have today our beloved Keanu Reeves so, I really don't know where to stand here. Positive aspects: the fact that they tried to do a steampunk-themed movie which design and visually-wise could have been nice and unique (like SkyCaptain and the World of tomorrow); but boy is the script flawed and cheesy (not campy as some might say, when campy is done right it's golden charm)
- DirectorJeannot SzwarcStarsHelen SlaterFaye DunawayPeter O'TooleAfter losing a powerful orb, Kara Zor-El, Superman's cousin, comes to Earth to retrieve it and instead finds herself up against a wicked witch.BAD quality of both special effects and plot. Like the first Superman, I like that the Supergirl costume is the same as in the comics and it's the kind of design and texture I imagine they'd have in reallity. I don't like armored costumes or what not, I understand the decision for Chirstopher Nolan's Batman trilogy but that's because it was a realistic take and Bruce Wayne has no superpowers, why would SUpergirl need armored suit if she is "invulnerable". But the screenwriters and director/s where really smoking quite the good stuff because this movie is all over the place (and inconsistent by the way: laser eyes can't create and destroy life, pick one!)
- DirectorSidney J. FurieStarsChristopher ReeveGene HackmanMargot KidderThe Man of Steel crusades for nuclear disarmament and meets Lex Luthor's latest creation, Nuclear Man.Too bad it turned out to be such a mess. - DirectorFrédéric AuburtinStarsGérard DepardieuSam NeillTim RothFollows the passing of the FIFA baton through three association presidents: Jules Rimet, Joao Havelange, and Sepp Blatter.FIFA commercial all the way. I'm still waiting for a good and deep football-themed movie to come out because there are trully a lot of great symbolism and message to use in this amazing and international sport. Pitty this movie just puts in a pedestal the FIFA organization when no organization is perfect and shouldn't praise themselves. I'd say the same on other orgs like McDonalds, CocaCola or else

But when a long-suffering park ranger starts capturing the other Trolls, it's up to Fenn to rescue his family and friends.Just bad, bad bad bad, the animation is horrible and the plot is rehashed and terribly executed. A bad addition to the Animation Industry
- DirectorMorten TyldumStarsJennifer LawrenceChris PrattMichael SheenA malfunction in a sleeping pod on a spacecraft traveling to a distant colony planet wakes one passenger 90 years early. The premise died on that fatal decision (you know which one) and kills the couple's dynamic, making whatever romance there was unconvincing. (Cause it was obvious there was going to be a romance, with these two actors? It is a sure thing) It's unfortunate because the premise was really nice and with a lot of potential and I sort of see where the story wanted to go with this difficult decision... But I believe it should have ended up with a bad ending, it suits it better and the message would be much clearer. Oh well.
- DirectorJim JarmuschStarsBill MurrayAdam DriverTilda SwintonTwo pioneers fight for their lives and their love on the American frontier during the Civil War.To this day I don't understand the purpose of this movie or what it's trying to tell me.
