Originally from Kelowna, British Columbia, actress on the rise Taylor Hickson has steadily made a name for herself in the entertainment industry through the dynamic characters she has brought to life on screen. From starring as the sweet, girl next door, to a relentless assassin in training, and a strong-willed, apocalypse survivor, Hickson has proved time and time again she can do it all.
Hickson was most recently seen starring in the critically acclaimed indie drama "Giant Little Ones" [Mongrel Media] alongside Maria Bello, Kyle MacLachlan and Josh Wiggins. The film follows two popular teenage boys, Franky Winter (Wiggins) and Ballas Kohl (Darren Mann), best friends since childhood, who discover their lives, families, and girlfriends dramatically upended after an unexpected incident occurs on the night of Franky's seventeenth birthday party. Hickson was a scene stealer as Natasha Kohl, Ballas' sister who is ostracized from the rest of their classmates. "Giant Little Ones" premiered at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival to rave reviews with The Hollywood Reporter saying the film is, ".... beautifully acted story that manages to transcend quite a few - if clearly not all - of the coming-of-age genre's clichés."
On the television front Hickson can next be seen in the highly anticipated SYFY series "Deadly Class" (2019). Executive Produced by Joe and Anthony Russo ("The Avengers") the series follows a disillusioned teen recruited into a high school for assassins during the late 1980's counterculture. Hickson stars as gloomy goth girl Petra, one of the students at the School for the Deadly Arts. Hickson was also recently cast as the series lead in the drama pilot for Freeform "Motherland" (from "Claws" creator Eliot Laurence and executive producers Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Kevin Messick) which follows a secret government program that recruits witches to help with combat missions Additional credits for Hickson include appearing in Twentieth Century Fox's "Deadpool" opposite Ryan Reynolds, MGM's "Everything, Everything" opposite Amandla Stenberg and Nick Robinson, the indie thriller film "Residue," and starring on SYFY's apocalyptic series "Aftermath."
Born and raised in Canada, Hickson's career began at the age of twelve, singing alongside her father on stages throughout BC. As her passion for music deepened, she began writing her own material and graduated high school a year early to focus on her music career. She fell into acting after a relative encouraged her to audition for an agency at 16 years old. Once Hickson began auditioning, she landed roles right out the gate, one of the first being a part in the psychological thriller "Blackway" opposite Anthony Hopkins, Ray Liotta, and Julia Stiles. That was followed by a lead role in Canadian indie "Hunting Pignut" based on writer/director Martine Blue's true-life story. The film centers around Bernice (Hickson) a 15-year old runaway trying desperately to uncover the mystery of her father's disappearance. Hickson has been working non-stop ever since.
While acting and music are two of Hickson's greatest passions, she also has a big place in her heart for charity and actively supports International Justice Mission and Free the Children, both of which focus on saving or preventing children being sold into child slavery and providing relief to children living in extreme poverty. Hickson has participated in food drives, raised funds for both organizations, and while in high school raised enough money to build a school for underprivileged children and provide them with school supplies.- Actress

Brette Taylor is a seasoned American actress recognized for her work in film and television; most prominently as the ball-busting, wild-child Pam York in ABC's hit Nashville (2012), Martha Wayne on Gotham (2014), Fox's new series Prodigal Son (2019), as well as her memorable role as Crazy Debbie opposite Denis Leary in the FX drama Rescue Me (2004).
No stranger to playing strong, daedalian women, Taylor's tough girl persona earned her the nickname "Chick Nolte" while playing the ballsy FBI agent, Karen Maguire in A&E's The Beast (2009). This spirited reputation also paved the way for success in both the video game and interactive world; most notably as a southern gang leader in the top-selling game Red Dead Redemption II (2018) and as Lieutenant Elizabeth Grant in #WarGames (2018), an interactive series based on the 1983 movie WarGames (1983) starring Matthew Broderick and Ally Sheedy.
Brette was raised in New York City and attended the prestigious High School of Performing Arts where she studied both acting and dance. Her passion for dance also led her to study with the Cincinnati Ballet Preparatory Company at the University of Cincinnati's renowned College Conservatory of Music. Taylor credits her mother, Christine Parks, also a seasoned actor, as having a positive influence on her career.
Taylor continues to produce and collaborate as a writer, producer, director and actor through projects that highlight her connection to streetwise, straight-shooting women. "Creating characters like these is what I crave", Brette says. She recently starred in the feature film Soul to Keep alongside Louis Gossett Jr., Rob Mars and up & comer Nicholas David King. The film is scheduled to release in early 2024. She recently wrote, directed and produced her passion project Babs.
Brette is also a passionate singer-songwriter who wrote, produced and performed on her debut album, Breaking News, available via numerous streaming platforms. Tessa Farrell is an award-winning actress, writer, director and the auteur inventor behind the original film Cinema Legend. Tessa was born in Scottsdale, Arizona to Scott Farrell and Catherine McGinley. Tessa has one younger sister, Kelsey, and two younger brothers, Ryan and Shane. Tessa is mainly European with small traces of Native American, African and Asian ancestry. Tessa began running at the age of 2 and hasn't stopped since. Highly active in gymnastics, girl scouts, choir, dance, and soccer before she could properly tie her shoes, Tessa went to public schools in Arizona, Florida and Texas while being raised by her mother and stepfather, Patrick McGinley. Tessa completed high school in Austin, Texas and went on to obtain her BA in Radio-TV-Film with honors from The University of Texas.
Shortly after gracing magazine covers, billboards and music videos as a local model, Tessa moved to Los Angeles where she began working as an actress on HBO's Entourage as a recurring supermodel and in leading roles for indie movies such as The First Born, Diamond and The Madness Within; shooting commercials for Dish Network, Nike, Apple and Dodge, among others, in her spare time.
While on the common path in Hollywood, Tessa gradually grew frustrated with frequently being asked to audition as a "dumb hot girl" and having to dodge constant sexual harassment attempts made by movie producers, talent agents and managers. This eventually inspired her decision to take a break from auditioning to learn how to screenwrite and create compelling roles for herself.
While continuing to develop as a performer, studying improv at UCB and playing multiple characters on Barbee Rehab, Tessa was soon hired as a screenwriter to adapt Paralyzed But Not Powerless for the big screen. Tessa's deeply rooted passion for cinema quickly lead to her metamorphosis into a full-fledged filmmaker. She began honing her crafts by participating in timed filmmaking competitions to practice creating under extreme pressure and ended up winning awards in every competition for the projects she created as a star/writer/director.
When Apple released its first smartphone with a 4K camera, Tessa began shooting short films using her iPhone; commonly operating as a one person film crew to lower her costs of production. In 2017, the tides of fate blew in the moment Tessa changed her hair to blonde when word spread she was the "real life Barbie" who can do anything she set her mind too. Catching wind of a Barbie movie in development with Sony at the time, Tessa wrote a treatment and produced a teaser for the project that ultimately went undiscovered yet lead to her even bigger creation.
Drawing inspiration from her own experiences in Hollywood and incorporating unrecognized yet deeply-rooted parts of herself, Tessa expanded her initial Barbie movie concept and transformed her character into Daisy Blaine, fatefully giving rise to Cinema Legend which is set to enter new rounds of production in late summer of 2024. Tessa also has several spec high budget feature film scripts entering the beginning stages of bidding wars and is currently attached as the writer/director/star.- Actress

Best known as Hammer Films' most seductive female vampire of the early 1970s, the Polish-born Pitt possessed dark, alluring features and a sexy figure that made her just right for Gothic horror! Ingrid Pitt (born Ingoushka Petrov) survived World War II and became a well-known actress on the East Berlin stage, however, she did not appear on screen until well into her twenties. She appeared in several minor roles in Spanish films in the mid 1960s, mostly uncredited, before landing the supporting role of undercover agent "Heidi", assisting Clint Eastwood and Richard Burton defeat the Third Reich in Where Eagles Dare (1968).
Her exotic looks and eastern European accent came to the notice of Hammer executives who cast Pitt as vampiress "Mircalla" in the sensual horror thriller The Vampire Lovers (1970). The film was a box office success with its blend of horror and sexual overtones, and Pitt was a beautiful, yet ferocious bloodsucker. Next up, Pitt was cast by Amicus Productions as another gorgeous vampire in the episode entitled "The Cloak" in the superb The House That Dripped Blood (1971). This time, Ingrid played an actress appearing in horror films alongside screen vampire Jon Pertwee, but then later reveals herself to be a real vampire keen on recruiting fresh blood.
Ingrid donned the fangs for her third vampire film in a row, Countess Dracula (1971) which was loosely based around the legend of the 16th century bloodthirsty Countess Elizabeth Bathory. Whilst not as successful, as the two prior outings, Ingrid Pitt had firmly established herself as one of the key ladies of British horror of the 1970s. She then appeared in the underrated at the time - now widely regarded as a classic - The Wicker Man (1973) as an uncooperative civil servant annoying Edward Woodward in his search for a missing child. Further work followed in The Final Option (1982), as "Elvira" in the adaptation of the John le Carré Cold War thriller Smiley's People (1982), Wild Geese II (1985) and The Asylum (2000).
Ingrid Pitt made regular appearances at horror conventions and fan gatherings, had penned several books on her horror career, and she relished talking to fans about her on screen vampiric exploits. Ingrid's fan club is known as the "Pitt of Horror"! A much loved and genuine cult figure of modern horror cinema, she died on November 23, 2010, just two days after her 73rd birthday.- Actress

Born Suzanna Smyth, the daughter of an auto engine manufacturer, Suzanna Leigh grew up in Belgrave, England, and in convent schools outside London. She began working in movies while still a pre-teen, appearing as an extra in 1958's Tom Thumb (1958) (film-debuting in the "Dancing Shoes" sequence), 1960's Oscar Wilde (1960) with 'Robert Morley' and other English productions. A few years later, she was the star of the 13-episode French TV series, Trois étoiles en Touraine (1966), which every week featured Leigh, her racing car and a different male lead (the "Three Stars" of the series' translated title). Planning to attend London's Opera Ball, costumed as "Madame Du Barry", Leigh had a sedan chair made, along with costumes for five footmen who carried it (and her) through the streets of the city. Movie producer Hal B. Wallis saw newspaper photos of Leigh's elaborate stunt and imported the 20-year-old blonde to Hollywood for Boeing, Boeing (1965). Following her brush with major studio stardom, she resumed her English acting career, showing up on movie screens, most regularly in chillers. Her 1998 autobiography is entitled "Paradise, Suzanna Style".- A former au pair and model, Jytte Stensgaard emigrated to the UK in 1963, hoping to have a successful international film career. Changing her name to the slightly easier to pronounce "Yutte" Stensgaard she ironically didn't make her debut in a British film, but in the Italian movie The Girl with a Pistol (1968) (Girl with a Pistol) which did have some British backing. She then went on to appear in various British movies, mainly of the comedy or horror genre, most famously the lead role in Lust for a Vampire (1971), as well as several television guest roles.
She also got a six-month stint hosting a game show with British king of comedy, Bob Monkhouse. After struggling with myopic casting directors, who could not see the beauty and budding talent before them and were happier to just keep casting more established but less beautiful women, Yutte finally gave up and emigrated to the USA in the mid-seventies and took up a job selling air time for a Christian radio station in Oregon.
Understandably reluctant to make appearances at horror conventions when British film publicists finally started to notice her when it was too late, she did relent and start appearing at a select few in the late 1990s, giving the non-fickle amongst her fans a chance to see her unique radiance once more.
An inimitable beauty the likes of which has never been seen since, Yutte Stensgaard was possibly the biggest loss to movies since that of Sharon Tate. - Actress

The daughter of Pamela, a nurse, and Glenn George, a construction worker, Melissa initially expressed interest in various forms of dance rather than acting. During her childhood, George studied tap, ballet, and jazz, later transitioning into professional rollerskating - similar to figure skating on ice.
By age 16, George had won several awards at various National Rollerskating Championships in Australia, and subsequently began modeling after dropping out of high school. George met a casting agent while doing modeling work, and was given a role on the popular Australian soap opera Home and Away (1988); George moved to Sydney and worked on the show for three years until deciding to pursue other projects.
In 1996, George left Australia and moved to Los Angeles in search of bigger roles. She garnered various supporting parts in films such as Dark City (1998) and Steven Soderbergh's crime thriller The Limey (1999), before landing a key part in David Lynch's acclaimed neo noir mystery film, Mulholland Drive (2001). While in Bali in 1998, George met future husband, Chilean filmmaker Claudio Dabed; the two were married in late 2000.
The early 2000s would have George playing bit parts in several American television shows, including Friends (1994) and Monk (2002), ultimately landing a recurring role on the hit Alias (2001) alongside Jennifer Garner and Michael Vartan. Through the later part of the decade, George had roles in various horror and thriller films, beginning with the 2005 version of The Amityville Horror (2005), as well as the commercially-successful thriller Derailed (2005) alongside Clive Owen, Jennifer Aniston and Vincent Cassel.
George finished the decade with several more horror films, including Turistas (2006) and 30 Days of Night (2007), as well as independent horror titles such as The Killing Gene (2007), The Betrayed (2008) and Triangle (2009). George was also active in television work, landing a role on the popular medical drama Grey's Anatomy (2005). Her greatest critical success would come with a role on In Treatment (2008), playing the love interest of Gabriel Byrne, which would garner her a Golden Globe nomination in 2009.

The following summer, the now-famous Mac-Haydn Theatre opened in DeBell's hometown, featuring The Sound Of Music as its last show of its season. This attractive, happy go lucky blonde actress, educated at the University of Kansas and a former ballet soloist, first broke into both TV and cinema screens in the mid 1970s and through her appearances in several well remembered horror and sci-fi films, and Dee quickly gained a cult following among the fantasy film fans. Poor Dee always seemed to be on the wrong side of some malevolent person or evil creature....she was pursued by a clan of cannibal killers in The Hills Have Eyes (1977), terrorized by a pack of werewolves in the superb The Howling (1981), got a break from the horror, as a sympathetic mom in the mega sci-fi hit E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982), and nearly ends up lunch for a rabid St. Bernard in the heart stopping Cujo (1983).
In the early 1980s, Wallace-Stone actually shared the screen several times with her then husband Christopher Stone before his unfortunate, early demise from a heart attack in October, 1995.
However, typecasting Dee Wallace-Stone as a horror heroine does not do her justice, as unlike some other scream queens whose careers quickly faded, Dee has gone on to have a very busy and varied acting career, appearing in over 90 feature films to date! Her All-American looks and easy going demeanor has seen Dee often cast as a typical suburban mother, a sympathetic friend, or a trusted ally. Fans warm to her endearing smile and natural warmth, and Dee continues to find herself in constant demand in front of the camera, plus she has her own much visited website.- Actress

Strikingly beautiful and fiery blonde Tiffany Bolling may not have achieved the long-lasting stardom she deserved, but she nonetheless has remained a much-beloved cult favorite of 1970s B-movie buffs for her lively and impressive performances in a handful of enjoyably trashy drive-in flicks. Born in Santa Monica, California, as Tiffany Royce Kral, Bolling basically had show business in her blood: her father was singer/pianist Roy Kral and her mother was singer/comedienne Bettie Miller.
Tiffany attended Webster elementary school in Malibu. She began singing in coffee houses at age 16 and recorded an album for Canyon Records, scoring a minor hit single with the Vietnam protest song "Thank God the War is Over". Bolling's latter album "Tiffany" was a flop in its day, but has since become a much sought after collector's item.
She found greater success as an actress. She made her film debut at age 20 in an uncredited bit part as a cocktail waitress in the Frank Sinatra private eye picture Tony Rome (1967). More prominent parts in Triangle (1970) and The Marriage of a Young Stockbroker (1971) cemented her status as a most promising new talent. She did a nude pictorial for the April 1972 issue of "Playboy" magazine. Bolling secured her place as a bona-fide B-movie queen with a bunch of juicy starring parts: she's a sneaky, manipulative con artist femme fatale supreme in Bonnie's Kids (1972), a hotel lounge singer who's stalked by a crazed psycho in Wicked, Wicked (1973), the ruthless ringleader of a trio of desperate kidnappers in the terrific The Candy Snatchers (1973) and a stewardess who gets terrorized by deranged psychopath Andrew Prine in the splendidly sleazy The Centerfold Girls (1974). Bolling gave another fine performance as a gutsy entomologist in the hugely entertaining killer tarantula epic Kingdom of the Spiders (1977).
On television Bolling was a regular cast member of the short-lived TV series The New People (1969), which was a precursor to Lost (2004). Among the many TV programs Tiffany did guest spots on were High Mountain Rangers (1987), The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams (1977), Vega$ (1978), Mod Squad (1968), Bonanza (1959), Mannix (1967), Man from Atlantis (1977), Barnaby Jones (1973), Charlie's Angels (1976), Electra Woman and Dyna Girl (1976) and The Sixth Sense (1972). Alas, Bolling's career petered out in the 1980s, as such lackluster movies as The Vals (1983), Love Scenes (1984) and Open House (1992) all grimly confirm. Her last movie to date is Visions (1998). More recently Bolling has worked in both stage and film productions behind the scenes. She also teaches and dedicates herself to various humanitarian causes. Moreover, her daughter Seanie sang back-up vocals on the 1990 debut album of the Christian heavy metal band Holy Soldier.- Casting Director

Jill Ireland was a British-American actress best known for her appearance as "Leila Kalomi," the only woman Mr. Spock ever loved (in the Star Trek (1966) episode, This Side of Paradise (1967)) and for her many supporting roles in the movies of Charles Bronson. She is also known for her battle with breast cancer, having written two books on her fight with the disease and serving as a spokesperson for the American Cancer Society.
Jill Dorothy Ireland was born in London on April 24, 1936, to wine merchant Jack Ireland and his wife Dorothy, who were fated to outlive their daughter. Young Jill started her entertainment career at age 16 as a dancer, and made her screen debut in 1955, in Michael Powell's Oh... Rosalinda!! (1955). On May 11, 1957, she married actor David McCallum, whom she met on the set of the Stanley Baker action picture Hell Drivers (1957). In the mid-'60s, they moved to the United States so McCallum could star as agent "Ilya Kuryakin" in the TV series The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (1964). She got steady work on American television and would co-star with her husband in five episode of the series in 1964, 1965 and 1967.
Ireland separated from McCallum, with whom she had two biological sons and one adopted son, in June 1965. He filed for divorce in August 1966, and it was finalized in February 1967. On October 5, 1968, she married Charles Bronson, who was 15 years her senior and still several years away from coming into his own as a leading man. They had first met when McCallum introduced them on the set of The Great Escape (1963). With Bronson, she had two children, a daughter born to the couple in 1971, and an adopted daughter. They first co-starred together in the 1970 French movie Rider on the Rain (1970), which made Bronson a major star in Europe (she had first played an uncredited bit part in his movie London Affair (1970), released that same year). They starred in 13 more pictures over the next 17 years, a period during which Bronson and Ireland rivaled Clint Eastwood and Sondra Locke as the most prolific screen couple. During her marriage to Bronson, Ireland appeared in only one TV episode, one TV movie and one theatrical picture that didn't star her husband.
She was diagnosed with cancer in her right breast in 1984 and underwent a mastectomy. She wrote about her battle and became an advocate for the American Cancer Society, which led to the organization giving her its Courage Award. Ireland was presented with the award by President Ronald Reagan. Tragically, she lost her battle with the disease after it metastasized and died at her home in Malibu, California, on May 18, 1990, aged only 54. She was survived by her husband, children, stepchildren, parents, brother, and extended family.- Diana Lorys was born on 20 October 1940 in Madrid, Spain. She is an actress, known for O.K. When people gave Louis Malle credit for making a star of Jeanne Moreau in Elevator to the Gallows (1958) immediately followed by The Lovers (1958), he would point out that Moreau by that time had already been "recognized as the prime stage actress of her generation." She had made it to the Comédie Française in her 20s. She had appeared in B-movie thrillers with Jean Gabin and Ascenseur was in that genre. The technicians at the film lab went to the producer after seeing the first week of dailies for Ascenseur and said: "You must not let Malle destroy Jeanne Moreau". Malle explained: "She was lit only by the windows of the Champs Elysées. That had never been done. Cameramen would have forced her to wear a lot of make-up and they would put a lot of light on her, because, supposedly, her face was not photogenic". This lack of artifice revealed Moreau's "essential qualities: she could be almost ugly and then ten seconds later she would turn her face and would be incredibly attractive. But she would be herself".
Moreau has told interviewers that the characters she played were not her. But even the most famous film critic of his generation, Roger Ebert, thinks that she is a lot like her most enduring role, Catherine in François Truffaut's Jules and Jim (1962). Behind those eyes and that enigmatic smile is a woman with a mind. In a review of The Clothes in the Wardrobe (1993) Ebert wrote: "Jeanne Moreau has been a treasure of the movies for 35 years... Here, playing a flamboyant woman who nevertheless keeps her real thoughts closely guarded, she brings about a final scene of poetic justice as perfect as it is unexpected".
Moreau made her debut as a director in Lumiere (1976) -- also writing the script and playing Sarah, an actress the same age as Moreau whose romances are often with directors for the duration of making a film. She made several films with Malle.
Still active in international cinema, Moreau presided over the jury of the 1995 Cannes Film Festival.- Stunning Italian actress Virna Lisi, a brief but lovely Hollywood import in the 1960's, was merely one of a plethora of European movie beauties who proved over the course of their long careers, that they were capable of more than just visual performances.
Born Virna Lisa Pieralisi on November 8, 1936, she began her film career as a 17-year-old teen with a co-starring part with the musical drama ...e Napoli canta! (1953) (Naples Sings!). Cast initially for her photographic beauty, she gained more experience in such early pictures as Lettera napoletana (1954) and La corda d'acciaio (1954) before earning her first top-billed movie lead in Piccola santa (1954) opposite Rosario Borelli. Other late 50's/early 60's films that helped steam up her image included Luna nova (1955), Le diciottenni (1955), La rossa (1955), The Doll That Took the Town (1957), Lost Souls (1959) opposite Jacques Sernas, Don't Tempt the Devil (1963) (Don't Tempt the Devil), Sua Eccellenza si fermò a mangiare (1961) (His Excellency Stayed to Dinner], the Italian-made spectacle, Duel of the Titans (1961) and an innocent role in the French-made Eva (1962) starring the scheming Jeanne Moreau in the title role.
The pert and sexy star later made a decorative dent in late 1960's Hollywood as a tempting blue-eyed blonde opposite the likes of Jack Lemmon in How to Murder Your Wife (1965), Frank Sinatra in Assault on a Queen (1966) and Tony Curtis in Not with My Wife, You Don't! (1966). Confined once again to the same type of glamour roles (she turned down the title role of "Barbarella"), she returned to Europe within a couple of years but hardly fared better with such nothing special movies as Anyone Can Play (1967), The Girl Who Couldn't Say No (1968), The Christmas Tree (1969), The Statue (1971), Bluebeard (1972) and White Fang (1973) and its sequel Challenge to White Fang (1974).
Come middle age, however, a career renaissance occurred for Virna. She began to be perceived as more than just a tasty dish and was given a wide variety of quality mature performances. As the stature of her films improved, she began winning foreign awards right and left for such European pictures as Beyond Good and Evil (1977), The Cricket (1980), Time for Loving (1983), Buon Natale... Buon anno (1989) and Va' dove ti porta il cuore (1996) (Follow Your Heart). It all culminated in the lifetime role of the malevolent "Caterina de Medici" in Queen Margot (1994) for which she captured both the César and Cannes Film Festival awards, not to mention the Italian Silver Ribbon award.
Virna continued reigning supreme on TV as a character lead and support player into the millennium with parts in such TV movies as the title role in Anna's World (2004) and Donne sbagliate (2007) (Steel Women) as well as Italian TV series work. Starring as the matriarch in the excellent family film drama Il più bel giorno della mia vita (2002), Virna would find her last excellent movie role in the award-winning dramedy Latin Lover (2015). Having passed away on December 14, 2014, at age 78, of lung cancer, the actress received a couple of award nominations posthumously for her work here. Survived by her son Corrado, her longtime husband (from 1960), architect Franco Pesci (1934-2013), died a year earlier. - Actress

Lead icon of the influential New German Cinema of the 70's & 80's, Schygulla's natural blonde beauty and amazing versatility keep her among the world's top actresses. She won best actress at Cannes in 1983 for The Story of Piera (1983) (aka "The Story of Piera"), an Italian/German co-production. The Turkish/German co-production, The Edge of Heaven (2007) (aka "The Edge of Heaven"), won the 2007 Cannes award for best screenplay. The now silver-haired actress appears to have shunned plastic surgery.
One of many protégés of Rainer Werner Fassbinder, who gave Schygulla especially tender treatment and nurturing, while he terrorized, manipulated, and slept with many of the other actors and filmmakers Fassbinder developed in his incestuous family-like theatrical and film troupes.
Over 12 years, Hanna Schygulla appeared in 23 Fassbinder movies (including his first feature film), the most-acclaimed being The Marriage of Maria Braun (1979) (aka "The Marriage of Maria Braun") (for which she won the Silver Bear), Lili Marleen (1981) and Berlin Alexanderplatz (1980). After a disagreement with Fassbinder, she did not appear in his final 4 movies. Their mentor/muse relationship is often favorably compared with that of Josef von Sternberg and Marlene Dietrich. Schygulla met Fassbinder while she was studying romance languages and taking acting lessons in Munich, then became a member of his collective theatre troupe, "Munich Action Theatre", which eventually evolved into his film group.
After Fassbinder's 1982 death, she appeared in a few commercial films, and when she does act now, concentrates on complex roles in films with unique, international social messages. Her better known non-Fassbinder movies include Kenneth Branagh's Dead Again (1991), Casanova (1987) (with Faye Dunaway), Andrzej Wajda's A Love in Germany (1983) (aka "A Love in Germany") and Margarethe von Trotta's Sheer Madness (1983) (aka "Sheer Madness"). She's renowned for portraying strong, sensual women, and her language ability enables her to appear in films produced by many countries. Her singing was featured in Lili Marleen (1981) and Sheer Madness (1983) (aka "Sheer Madness"). Since 1997, she has turned away from movie acting, primarily to chanson singing, recording CDs, appearing in the movie, Hanna Schygulla Sings (1999) and, in 2007, a one-woman autobiographical musical (including songs of Janis Joplin, Édith Piaf, Billie Holiday, Brecht). She was the lead and sang in a live Vanessa Beecroft conceptual art piece in a German castle, with Fassbinder's long-time associate, Irm Hermann, plus 23 other women. Schygulla has worked on producing films about Berlin's Holocaust memorial, and about her work with Fassbinder.
Many of Fassbinder's film plots reflect his bizarre working relations with cast and crew, and he often reserved the most glamorous costumes and dramatic roles for Hanna Schygulla, intentionally pressuring his other talented actresses, such as his feisty ex-wife Ingrid Caven, and the abused Irm Hermann. The extremely tense relationships in the all-female The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant (1972) (aka "Bitter Tears of Petra Von Kant") somewhat reflect real-life interactions of Hermann, Schygulla (both are in the movie), Fassbinder, and his mother.
Hann Schygulla's childhood family situation somewhat parallels her role, typifying Germany's moral dilemmas at the end of World War II, in The Marriage of Maria Braun (1979) (aka "The Marriage of Maria Braun"). Schygulla was born on Christmas Day 1943, in Kattowice, Upper Silesia (then a section of Poland annexed by the Third Reich). Her German father was an infantryman in Italy, who was in a POW camp until she was 5. After the war, the German population was expelled from the Kattowice area.- Actress

Brigitte Bardot was born on September 28, 1934 in Paris, France. Her father had an engineering degree and worked with his father in the family business. Brigitte's mother encouraged her daughter to take up music and dance, and she proved to be very adept at it. By the time she was 15, Brigitte was trying a modeling career, and found herself in the French magazine "Elle". Her incredible beauty readily apparent, Brigitte next tried films. In 1952, she appeared on screen for the first time as Javotte Lemoine in Crazy for Love (1952). Two more films followed and it was also the same year she married Roger Vadim (the union lasted 3½ years). Capitalizing on her success in French films, Brigitte made her first American production in Act of Love (1953) with Kirk Douglas, but she continued to make films in France. Brigitte's explosive sexuality took the United States by storm, and the effect she had on millions of American men who had not seen a woman like her in a long, long time--if ever--was electric. Rise to the phrase "sex kitten" and fascination of her in the United States consisted of magazines photographs and dubbed over French films--good, bad or indifferent, her films drew audiences--mainly men--into theaters like lemmings. In 1965, she appeared as herself in the American-made Dear Brigitte (1965) with James Stewart (she only appeared in one scene). Just before she turned 40, Brigitte retired from movies after filming The Edifying and Joyous Story of Colinot (1973). She prefers life outside of stardom. While it enabled her to become internationally famous, it also carried with it annoyances. It was not anything for her to have "fans" enter her house or wander around the grounds of her home in the hopes of getting a glimpse of her or to take something that belonged to her. Paparazzi constantly hounded her with their cameras. She has been so soft-hearted that some people even have taken advantage of her generosity. After her life in the spotlight, Brigitte went on to become a leading spokesperson for animal rights and started the "Foundation Brigitte Bardot" dedicated solely to that cause. Her work in that realm is, perhaps, far greater than any film she could have made. Brigitte has been married to Bernard d'Ormale since 1992 and they reside in St. Tropez with their nearly 50 pets.
