My Saturday Morning TV Show Lineup as a Kid
From roughly 1959 through 1963, these were the shows that I tuned into every Saturday morning. You had to be sharp by cruising the three or four available stations to catch these because they appeared on different networks. Even back then, most of the shows were already in re-runs, but what does a kid know. As you can see, I had a pretty well rounded viewing experience, even before becoming a teenager.

At the opening of the show he had a puppet friend called "Froggy". To get the frog to appear Andy and the audience would have to scream "Plunk your Magic Twanger, Froggy". There would then be a big puff of smoke and the frog would appear.I've got a gang, you've got a gang, everybody's gotta have a gang. Andy Devine hosted the show, and now I know why he had that devilish grin whenever he said 'Pluck your magic twanger Froggy'.
