- A groundbreaking idea for local filmmaking in Arizona. Screen Wars was the brainchild of the Phoenix Film Project (Later "ifp Phoenix"). The PFP was the sibling sibling organization of the Phoenix Film Festival. Local filmmakers created three minute short films of a specific genre and submitted them to compete on a half hour television show. This, the first episode, was introduced by the then Executive Director Rob Sucato and started off a very popular run. Unfortunately the series was extremely hard to pull off every week because of the high need for volunteer labor and funds. Short lived as it was, this series was very popular and great experience for local filmmakers, actors, and crew. Several high schools, colleges, and Universities participated in it's production.
