- Lukas Franke (Matthias Schweighöfer) is the victim of a cyber-crime attack. All his personal data, web and social media profiles get hacked and he gets accused of being involved in eco-terrorism. Lukas struggles to prove that he is innocent. His family, friends and colleagues doubt his innocence and start suspecting him. Lukas tries to find out who is behind the cyber-attacks and finds another victim, Lena Arandt, with whom he tries to solve the situation.
- Nora from Berlin struggles with growing up and her own identity. Her sister and her best friend are only interested in fashion and social media. Nora tries to do the same, but it does not make her happy. Then she meets Romy.

- The last words of a dying woman to her husband are 'one is not from you'. The father of three then goes on a hunt to find out which child is not his own while getting more involved into their lives than ever before.
- Hotel Manager Lukas Franke (Matthias Schweighöfer) finds himself a victim of a hacking attack, his online information altered to implicate him as having masterminded a cyber-attack on Berlin resulting in a city-wide blackout. Lukas goes to his estranged brother for assistance, who directs him to a local hacker, Dalton (Louis Hofmann).
- Lukas continues to try to find out who is targeting him, while mounting evidence causes doubt in the mind of his wife. Directed by the hacker Kaufmann, Lukas travels to Frankfurt to deliver a package, where he meets Lena Arandt (Karoline Herfurth). Officers Jansen (Catrin Striebeck) and Siebert (Edin Hasanovic) begin their investigation of Lukas.
- Lukas is questioned by the police, and learns that they believe he's planning further attacks, and is working with Lena. Hanna (Alexandra Maria Lara) is devastated following revelations leaked by the hacker. Jansen begins to suspect a leak within her department. Lukas finds Kaufmann, and demands answers.
- Now suspected in the killing of Kaufmann, Lucas evades the police with Lena's help. Jansen suspects Siebert may be the leak. Hanna is questioned by the police, and is fearful for her safety, and that of their son Leon. Lukas establishes contact with Marc (Tom Beck), who demands that he locate a code that was sent by Case before his death.
- Lena reveals her connection to Lukas, and opens up about her past. Lukas finds a clue from a previous meeting with Case, involving Leon. Arrested by the police, Lukas manages to send a warning to Hanna, alerting her that Leon is in danger. Lucas is taken from the police by the BND, the Federal police.
- Jansen and Siebert begin to believe that Lucas is telling the truth, and widen their investigation. Marc frees Lukas so that he can continue his search for the code, and puts in motion a dangerous plan to buy more time and hide his tracks. Lukas races the clock to find answers and save his family.
- In his search for the missing laptop, Lukas meets the mysterious "Angel". She knows more about him than he does himself. And she's always on hand to save him. Is she really a guardian angel? With her help, Lukas starts tracking down the computer. When he follows her, he meets an adversary who ought to be long since dead.
- Not long after Lukas and Hanna managed to escape the terror of the security services and hackers. Their plan was to make a fresh start. The horror starts all over again. When Lukas regains consciousness in a hospital suffering memory loss, the Burning Man computer, which he and Hanna had hidden as an insurance policy, has vanished. If they're to survive, Lukas has to find the computer.
- Lukas isn't the only one who wants to get his hands on Burning Man. As he searches for the computer, he is caught up in a cycle of violence that there's no escaping from. And Hanna has to make a choice. If she and her family are to have a future, being at Lukas' side isn't enough. She has to act herself.
- To discover the whereabouts of Burning Man, Lukas has to face his inner demons, and they are more powerful than any previous adversaries. Ultimately, though, they show him and Hanna the path to the light - where the shadows are much darker.
- The digital world seems unbeatable and Lukas has only one final option. He has to "pull the plug". The consequences will be irreversible, but he's willing to take them.
- The time for hiding is over. Utterly "naked" and vulnerable, Lukas faces his adversaries. Or is his capitulation just a trick? He manages to outwit all the systems and to achieve his greatest goal. But his adversaries have pressed the reset button as well. It's far from over yet.
