Chad Hoku lost his eye in a workshop accident in 2014, but was later inspired to embrace his injury by the Reinhardt character. The prop designer won TwitchCon 2016's cosplay contest with his stunning Overwatch cosplay, taking home the $15,000 prize. Chad, who runs the Los Angeles-based Hoku Props, told Totally Game: "It's important to not necessarily think about the things I can't do because of the accident, but instead try to figure out ways of doing the things I want to do. "I've always been fascinated with video games and interested in the process of taking something from a video game or fantasy world and pulling it into our reality."

Rocky Stoutenburgh from Detroit, Michigan, known to his Twitch and YouTube followers as "RockyNoHands", uses a mouth-controlled device known as a Quad Stick to demolish his opponents on online battle royale Call of Duty: Warzone. Rocky's life was changed forever after breaking his neck during a freak accident back in 2006, but popular streamer Rocky is now the proud owner of two Fortnite world records and looking to beat his current Warzone highest kill game of 13. Rocky said: "I'm the best in the world at playing video games with my mouth. These lips are deadly."

Morgane Jarde from Versailles, France, spent two weeks making the colossal 1.84m (6ft) blade, which weighs 8kg (18lbs). Morgane, who goes by the name Siwen Cosplay online, decided to embark on the build after being inspired by Square Enix's updated masterpiece. And while the French cosplayer is extremely happy with the finished product, its sheer size and weight means she might not be slaying any enemies with it anytime soon. Siwen said: "Holding the sword is really physically hard. After swinging it for 10 minutes my arms were aching for days, but at the same time it feels so cool and badass holding it."

James is spending this year driving for Jenson Button's new GT3 team in a McLaren 720S and dreams of being simultaneously the world's top real-world and Esports racing driver.
- Badass granddad Abbe 'DieHardBirdie' Borg is believed to be the world's oldest competitive gamer. The 78-year-old, who was born in the middle of the second World War, loves to play 'Counter Strike: Global Offensive' at least four hours a day. Abbe started playing Counter Strike when he retired, and enjoys playing both in solo mode and as part of a team - and is particularly fond of head shots. Known for his talent, and the unique bird whistle sound he makes before dispatching opponents, he credits gaming with keeping his mind and reaction times sharp.
- A Fortnite fan is crediting the game with saving his life after his gamer friend in the USA realized he was having a seizure and called local ambulance services. Aidan Jackson from Cheshire, England, suffered from a potentially life-threatening epileptic seizure while playing Fortnite 'duo mode' online with Dia Lathora from Richardson, Texas. The pair connected online playing Fortnite - and it was Dia's quick thinking that Aidan was saved in time and taken to hospital.
- Breaking your neck at 17 years old would usually be a debilitating injury, but for one gamer it hasn't stopped him from becoming a standout League of Legends players. Conrad Hildebrand is ranked in the top 15 percent of players in Europe on his server and is aiming to become the top player on the continent, despite not being able to feel anything below his chest. The Stockholm-native also can't move his fingers, which are permanently closed, but uses a track pad and low-profile keyboard to game online.
- Call of Duty star Chad Michael Collins has found a unique way to engage with fans while embracing his love for video games. The actor plays Alex, aka 'Echo 3-1', in 'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare', and has recently taken up playing as his character in Activision's massively popular Battle Royale game 'Call of Duty: Warzone'. Chad, who is also known for his starring role in the 'Sniper' movies, streams his online sessions on Twitch where fans from around the world can play as their hero, alongside their hero.
- Fortnite players might not expect to be taken out by a man of God, but one pastor has no problem rising to the challenge in the 'battle royale' game - as long as he helps people along the way. Kiran Skariah, who goes by PastorSKAR online, is an ordained reverend who has built a supportive online community around his high-energy Twitch streams. The Sydney, Australia-based pastor streams Fortnite multiple times a week and says his ultimate goal is to "make an impact on as many lives as he can. My faith is very real to me. It's something that matters to me, it's important to me, and I'm unashamed of that. And I've also always been a gamer."
- A father-of-six has made his retro gaming dreams a reality by building an entire 80s arcade in the basement of his family home. Jeremy Wagner of Warrenton, Missouri, is the proud owner of the Vintage Vault arcade. The 1,100sq foot space features 44 games cabinets, three pinball machines, pool and bumper pool tables, an air hockey, a vintage soda machine, a gumball machine and a bar area - as well as high score leader boards for each game.
- Iconic Call of Duty character 'Ghost' is a fan-favorite and now the actor behind Ghost is giving those fans a chance to play alongside the man himself. Jeff Leach, who voiced Simon 'Ghost' Riley in 2019's Modern Warfare, has built a remarkable community around his Facebook Gaming streams, where he regularly plays Activision's hugely-popular shooter 'Warzone'. Recently the comedian and actor went in search of his ultimate Warzone squad, playing the Battle Royale alongside fans from around the world in search of an elusive win or 'dub'. Jeff, who began streaming in March 2020, said: "It's funny, dropping in the Warzone in the full Ghost outfit and using the iconic voice and just having kids tell me that I'm doing a terrible impression of Ghost, that always makes me laugh."
- Bringing video games to life has become a specialty for a stunt performer, parkour athlete, and devoted gamer with astounding acrobatic abilities. Ronnie Shalvis has especially loved Spider-man since he was young, becoming hooked on 2004's 'Spider-Man 2' for the PS2. The Georgia-native has since played all the games based on Marvel's iconic superhero, and when the PS4 game arrived in 2018, he took the opportunity to turn the game into reality.

Zoe Espinoza from Austin, Texas, was born with a genetic condition called Leber Congenital Amaurosis (LCA) that causes degeneration in the retinas of the eye. Zoe now experiences what the World Health Organization refers to as "profound blindness" - but that hasn't stopped her becoming a killer at Mortal Kombat with the help of her wife Kelsey, and even getting signed to an esports team.

David Norris, who goes by 'TreeBoyDave' online, has racked up around 18,000 hours of gameplay in Overwatch, reaching an incredible level of 11,908. The impressive feat took Dave four years, with the ambitious streamer estimating he's likely played around 100,000 matches of Blizzard's popular online shooter. The former IT help-desk worker has been playing Overwatch since it released back in 2016, and has constantly broken records for being the highest-level player. Dave became the first player to reach level 10,000 in October 2019. Recently he decided to give himself a real challenge by trying to teach his mother to play his favorite game.
- A young transgender video games designer with Tourettes is looking to revolutionize the industry - and make dancing accessible for all. Isaac Wirth from North Carolina, first fell in love with gaming while watching his father play Super Mario Sunshine on the Nintendo GameCube at the age of five. But Isaac found certain games challenging due to motor-neural issues - which made holding a joystick or doing precise motion movements problematic. Age 14 he was diagnosed with Tourette's Syndrome after beginning to demonstrate motor and vocal tics. And to make things even more complex, over the following year he became aware that he was transgender. Isaac is now studying video game design at NYU in New York, with a scholarship from the ESA Foundation, and has already made games addressing real-life social issues including his time as a high schooler with Tourettes and toxicity within an abusive queer relationship. Isaac's current work-in-progress, Spotlight, is an adaptable VR dance experience for people who may not get to perform ballet on stage.

Dylan Ray Owen, of Dallas, Texas, garnered attention earlier this year for beating Super Smash Bros. Melee's Adventure mode completely blindfolded on his Twitch stream. He has done the seemingly impossible yet again by beating the game's All-Star mode - which pits his character 'Ness' against every other character in the game - while blindfolded and relying entirely on audio cues.

- Having no hands or legs hasn't stopped one devoted gamer from becoming an assassin on Call of Duty Warzone. Jackson Reece became a paraplegic after a motorcycle accident in 2007, before losing his lower limbs and hands to Sepsis in 2017, and now plays video games with his mouth using special equipment. Known online as 'PitbullReece' he streams his exploits on the popular Battle Royale where he manages to easily beat able-bodied players from match to match.
- The man behind one of the most popular Watch Dogs characters has lifted the lid on his impressive video game acting career. Shawn Baichoo, who has appeared in the Outlast, Rainbow 6, and Assassin's Creed series has become known as "that guy from all the video games" and is most known for portraying hacker 'Wrench' in Watch Dogs 2. The Montreal-based actor will be reprising the fan-favorite role in the upcoming Bloodline DLC for the latest entry in the series - Watch Dogs: Legion.
- Gamers in the age of YouTube and streaming have invented numerous ways to make their favorite pastime more interesting - from speed running to using unorthodox controllers. But one gamer has combined the two by using his drum kit to speed run his favorite games. Cesar Aguirre, known online as CZR, streams himself speed-drumming his way through N64 classics such as The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Super Mario 64.

Weighing in at 4.5lbs (2kg), Aliia says her lengthy locks weigh as much as the family cat.

Rajee Narinesingh, a transgender woman, fell prey to "toxic tush doctor" Oneal Ron Morris in 2005 - a fellow trans woman who went by the name of 'Duchess' and injected her clients with illegal substances - including cement, superglue and Tyre sealant. For years, Rajee was too ashamed to seek help and hardly left home. But then a friend referred her to cosmetic surgeon Dr. John Martin, who agreed to give her free treatment to repair the damage to her face and body. Seven weeks and four rounds of surgery later, Rajee is ecstatic with the results.
