- Interweaving three stages of their girlhood, 'Nous Trois' captures the childlike swiftness that's maintained in Anna, Nele and Sarah's intervening lives, from children to young independent women. The choreography and movements symbolically grasp their changing identity.
- Several dogs are being trained as patrol dogs. Their owners teach them the choreographies of police work: biting and letting go, following and staying, always on their owner's command. Longingly gazing upwards, the dogs seem intimately connected with their owners. They are tamed and domesticated; their life is directed by humans. At the same time they are always the elusive other. A gap divides humans and animals, and from the other side these dogs see us.
- Caught in a dance, bees tell each other stories about the world around them. People equally claim their role in those stories, sometimes very close and intimate, sometimes distant and on an industrial scale. Nina de Vroome's thoughts also swarm as bees do: from the smallest cell in a honeycomb to the global economy, her essayistic nature documentary Globes charts the bond between humans and bees. As accomplished storytellers, they both give shape to lives under the sun.
- We are on a soundstage where we see Marlene Dietrich, Bette Davis and Joan Crawford doing domestic chores, filmed in typical Hollywood manner. It is almost as if they are acting to be themselves, in the movie about their lives. Bette is doing the dishes and cleaning, Joan is scrubbing her kitchen floor and changing her outfit several times, because there ought to be the right outfit for every occasion. Marlene is found in her beloved kitchen, making French toast for loved ones. While they are doing this, we hear their voices reminiscing about memories made at home. Only thing is, it is not Crawford, Davis and Dietrich doing the chores, it is the director of this film as them. The memories shared through the narration are also hers.
- A group of people gathers at a reception. The occasion of the event remains unclear. Everyone attempts to act appropriately. Waiting for something to happen in silence anticipation gradually turns into anxiety.
