- A scientist and his cockroach sidekick learn about life while investigating the world of bugs. Among the issues they deal with: friendship; innovation; and everyone's uniqueness.
- When Gilbert's twin brother Gavin comes to town, Adam is shocked to discover that Gavin is not animated, but a real cockroach - and Adam seems to be the only one who notices. When he realizes that communicating with Gavin is more difficult than he'd anticipated, Adam must relearn the methods of insect communication in order to ensure Gavin's visit is a welcome one. In the Hands On activity, Termite Trails, we watch how different insects communicate with one another and then explore whether humans can communicate with insects. When Gilbert learns that he owes $3,200 to the IRS, he signs up for Extreme Bug Makeover, a metamorphosis competition, to win the $10,000 grand prize. However Gilbert soon realizes that his talents can't compare to the amazing and real metamorphoses of his competitors, so he gets an extreme makeover of his own to try to emulate them. Thanks to his newly inflated ego and a new crop of admirers, Gilbert's relationship with Adam becomes strained. Can Adam talk some sense into Gilbert, or will our dynamic duo fall to pieces?

It isn't long before Gilbert's hectic lifestyle interferes with the show, and his "alpha-bug" attitude begins to make the kids uncomfortable. Can Adam convince Gilbert there are much better ways to handle bullies and that Gilbert is perfect just the way he is?

It isn't long before other blood-sucking insects join her cause, and look for alternatives to their traditional diet. Can Adam and Gilbert convince these bugs that their place in the ecosystem is important, regardless of their sanguine habits?

Before long, the repetitive culture of a (supposedly) hive-minded office starts to drive Gilbert mad. To make matters worse, Bill Lumbug, the stubborn office manager, seems to oppose any form of personal expression! With the help of ant pheromones, Adam infiltrates the office and teaches everyone how a real hive society capitalizes on differences as well as common traits to achieve its full potential.

Gilbert is immediately taken by the guest, and invites him to stay. But Adam suspects Andrew may be looking for a new home, on the scalp of a child. Upon getting to know the louse, we explore what these insects look for in potential homes, and what can be done to limit an outbreak. In addition to learning about the countless applications for treating lice, we are reminded that everyone is susceptible to these insects, and should not feel ashamed when they appear.
