- Tommy and Adam leave the comfort of the big city for the outdoor life in Campbell River in learning the ins and outs of being a lumberjack. While much of their preconceived notion is true that it is a lot about brawn which gives Tommy the advantage, they learn from their instructors, Darren R. Dean and Scott Thompson with the West Coast Lumberjack Show, that speed, agility, and endurance are also important. After a warm-up of doing a task mimicking removing logs in a forest setting, the boys find out that they will be learning many of the events in a lumberjack show: the tandem sawing of a log, tree climbing in two different means, ax throwing, log sculpting using a chainsaw, a race on a log while using a chainsaw, choking a log using a seventy-five pound steel chain, and log rolling i.e. running on a rolling log in the water. Darren, Scott and their guest, five-time Canadian lumberjill champion Anita Jezowski, will judge the boys on day 2 in a full out lumberjack show competition, Tommy probably still having the edge just in terms of his physical build, but Adam could surprise in just having an overall better attitude to the work.
- Tommy and Adam embark on work in one of the trendiest industries: beer brewing. They will be spending not only their usual two days but four days total spread over several weeks learning the craft at Granville Island Brewing Company on Granville Island in Vancouver. Adam will enjoy this experience for more than just the beer, which both enjoy drinking. They will first test their palates with Mike Sharpman in the company's education department, they trying to identify different beer types in a blind tasting. They are then shown the A-B-C's of making beer with brewmaster Kevin Emms, the science behind which which may baffle one whereas the physical labor aspects may baffle the other. On day two, they are each to make a pitch for their own beer flavor to Mike and Kevin, Tommy and Adam, under the direction of head brewer Mac Remington, making said beer using the knowledge learned from Kevin the day before. A few weeks later, Tommy and Adam return to flavor their respective beers. Then four weeks after the start of the process, their beers are ready for consumption, they which will be blind tasted by themselves, Robyn, Mike, Kevin, Mac, and Tommy and Adam's invited friends and family. The winner of this challenge will be decided by a combination of who Mike, Kevin and Mac feel did the best during each of the steps over those first two days, and the results of the blind tasting.
- The stakes for this next challenge are even higher as Tommy and Adam have agreed, in addition to the regular cash award for the winner, that they will put up their winnings from last season in a winner take all scenario. They are going back to their roots, both literally and figuratively, in learning how to be high end florists. Tommy and Adam will be under the tutelage of floral shop owner Dushan Karunasena. After answering Tommy and Adam's questions about the business in general, Dushan leads them on two tutorials, first on creating floral boxes, which are currently in vogue in the floral industry, and second on creating floral centerpieces, both which have the same fundamentals but on different scales. Their official judging will be two parts: first, to create a centerpiece apiece for one of Dushan's actual clients for a high end event, and second to come up with a concept for their centerpiece to be photographed by high end photographer Ellen Ho.
- Tommy and Adam are less than thrilled when their next job will be as garbage men as they know that they will literally have to deal with s***. Under the supervision of the management staff of Super Save Disposal, Tommy and Adam will indeed have to learn about solid waste disposal in setting up and cleaning porta-potties, which is worse than even their imaginations had made the job out to be, but also learn other aspects of setting up a temporary work site, including the fencing and the general waste bins. They enter the training more excited than they expect for a less than surprising reason. They enter into day 2 learning that their challenge will be to set up a temporary work site on their own covering those three different areas of the fencing, the porta-potties and the waste bins. They know that Adam is at a disadvantage if the judging is solely on physical brawn, which the jobs do require, but with the heavy equipment involved, a focus on safety may trump all.
- Tommy and Adam have mixed feelings about their next challenge in operating a food truck: while they love food and frequent food trucks, neither has any idea about food preparation itself. In learning about the business, they receive the assistance of the owners and staff behind two food trucks in Vancouver, The Reef Runner and Reel Mac and Cheese. The business starts with the concept, which cannot be all things to all people, and the food delivery which must be quick from order to the customer getting that order. As a restaurant on wheels, they learn about the trucks themselves, what makes them run, and the different layouts that are available. They are then shown the food preparation at the two trucks prior to service. While Tommy and Adam each come up with their own ideas for the food truck they would operate, they will be judged on how they handle themselves in an actual lunch time service, one competitor at each of the two existing trucks, they handling everything from front of house, to preparing an order, to cooking in that lunch service.
- Before Rob and Sean even walk into the doors of Coast Mountain Bus which is the company operating the public transit buses in Greater Vancouver, the boys, in learning how to be public transit bus drivers, must first obtain their class 2 drivers license, which isn't as easy as they would like. Once at Coast Mountain, they learn that inherent customer skills are more important than inherent driving skills as their trainers believe anyone can learn how to drive a conventional forty foot bus. After being outfitted and given six hours worth of training primarily in class, the boys are ready to hit the road for their road test, each taking a forty foot bus on a drive on Granville and Oak Streets in Vancouver, two of the busiest and narrowest streets in the city. But that test isn't nearly as harrowing as their final test: to drive in an obstacle course used for sanctioned bus rodeos.

- In training to become officers of the Vancouver Police Department (VPD), Rob and Sean visit the VPD's chief recruiter, Sergeant Steve Elson, who gets them to write the entrance exam, which is based primarily on grade 12 Math and English. Beyond passing the exam, Elson talks about what they look for as characteristics for a good police officer. He then takes them on a their next exam, a 2.4 km run around Brockton Point in Stanley Park, which they must complete in under 12 minutes. This test may be difficult for each of them for different reasons. Elson then takes them to see Becky Swan, the VPD Fitness Coordinator, who will administer the POPAT - Police Officers Physical Ability Test - an obstacle styled course which mimics many maneuvers police officers face in real life. The push-pull machine may be the most difficult aspect of the POPAT, which has 4 minute 15 second pass time. They are then taken to the new VPD Tactical Training Centre, where they learn safety aspects from Sergeant Clive Milligan and Constable Darren Hall. This training includes how and when to use the baton, pepper spray, and most importantly their pistol. They are then taken to the scenario room to do some role playing. The experts then decide whether Rob or Sean would make the better police officer.
- Even though they know it's in large part acting, Rob and Sean are a bit nervous the first time they step into the ring to train to become pro wrestlers, as they learn that it is still a physically demanding activity, and that most of the equipment, such as the mat, ropes and turnbuckles, aren't as soft as they thought. ECCW wrestlers Scotty Mac, Mark Vellios aka 'Gorgeous' Michelle Starr, and Artemis Spencer show them some basic moves. Rob and Sean are, however, most excited about coming up with their wrestling personae and filming a promo as their characters. "Good" wrestler Sean is assisted by who will be his tag team partner, Riley Vincent aka El Phantasmo, while "bad" wrestler Rob is assisted his tag team partner, Scotty. But Sean and Rob have to bring the energy to show night, that energy which has to meet or exceed their promo to get the crowd pumped and excited.
- Rob and Sean's next job is one they consider stereotypically gay: working in a salon and spa. They meet with Kim McIver, the Division Director for Eveline Charles Academy in Vancouver. Kim tells them that 90% of making a salon/spa customer happy is in customer relations, much of which is covered in the initial customer consultation, which Kim teaches them how to conduct. Then under the instruction of Jessica Robertson and Vanessa Jellis, they are taught how to do three salon treatments: a pedicure, an upper lip wax, and a hair cut of long straight hair. They are allowed to practice on mannequins for the hair cuts, but necessarily practice on live people, albeit salon staff without problems, for the pedicure and lip wax. But judgment day arrives when they are required to perform all three treatments on a test subject of their own bringing, Sean who ends up bringing his own trusting sister, Lindsay Horlor.
- Rob and Sean head to the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts to learn how to be chefs. They are both confident in their abilities in this area, Sean who admits to be a cooking show junkie, and Rob who says he likes to experiment in the kitchen. The institute's chef de cuisine and sommelier Tim Ellison shows them the components of steak Oscar, including how to prep and cook the beef tenderloin, the Bearnaise sauce, initially what is the live dungeness crab, and the side vegetables. Their competition the next day is with $50 apiece to go shopping for the components of the main they will cook in two hours or less, the dish which must include at least the following four components: meat, sauce, seafood and side vegetable. Half way through their cook day, they are thrown an additional challenge in shopping for a bottle of wine to pair with their meal. The winner will not only have to have the tastier meal, but show ability and creativity in the kitchen as well.
- Rob and Sean have no idea what the day holds in store for them when they walk onto the grounds of VanDusen Botanical Garden, where they will learn how to be gardeners. That "not knowing" also includes having no idea how they will be judged in their continuing head-to-head competition. But whatever the competition, both are confident they can win as both gardened as children with their respective mother. James Warkentin, superintendent of the Garden, takes them on a tour of the entire facility, and shows them some of the regular chores that need to be done at the Garden, including weeding, pruning, growing nursery stock, harvesting produce grown on site, and even selling merchandise at the gift shop. After that tour and changing into their gardening attire, Rob and Sean are told by James what their competition will be: what he calls a botanical sprint. They are asked to do some of these chores at various locations on site, the completion of each chore which gives them a clue as to the next location and the next chore. But as the Garden covers twenty-two hectares, the winner may be the person who paid attention to where everything was located and has the greatest endurance to run from place to place while doing some manual labor.
