- Living alone in a one-room rental flat in Singapore's Chinatown, an elderly Cantonese woman contemplates her past life as a domestic household servant, as well as memories of places and people lost through the years.
- A middle-aged woman, her son and mother reside in a flat near a quarry bearing the name of Little Guilin, modelled after a famous landmark in China. She pretends that she is a prospective buyer who arranges to view several condominiums, claiming a token or borrowing a moment from each family that resides in them. Glimpsing the man-made quarry through different windows in different residences, her obsession culminates when she finally decides to take an excursion of sorts to visit it.
- Seletar, a former airbase during the British occupation of Singapore, is on the verge of a long overdue redevelopment. Residents start to move out as excavators stream in. Empty buildings remain, holding on to precious memories of its former occupants. Time stubbornly charges forward, leaving behind a heartbroken teen and a lonely woman, who find in each other, an unlikely connection.
