While the tribe is preparing for the marriage ceremony, Fatty attempts to escape but is caught.

The terms also state that the two must get married, and if one refuses, then the other gets the entire estate. The girl schemes with her twin brother to trick the Englishman out of his part of the inheritance.

- This film holds up its end as a farce - it even has a story to tell, that of a young couple secretly married long enough to have a baby "more than a year old," which they dare not acknowledge. There is plot enough to supply a high comedy, but it soon becomes submerged in the swift farce, too swift at times - one cannot follow the lines of interest - but rich with material. It is a good farce, well calculated to maintain the Keystone reputation.
- As the S. S. Huron returns from her summer trip to Europe laden with many passengers, a mysterious lady in room 7 is never seen, and the whole boat starts to gossip about her. In the meantime, a puzzling telegram arrives for Peter Hale, the passenger in the room across hers, about a sign of the Double Cross and his father's will.
- Krazy Kat is held in jail and Ignatz finally bails him out after encountering "guilt".
- The young hotel clerk and the stenographer are engaged, and the boy's one ambition is to provide a rosy future for his bride. With this in mind, he invests all his savings in the stock market, having been induced so to do by the success of an old friend in the market. He, however, is not so fortunate, for the stocks bought are dropping fast. His broker wires for $2,000 to save him from utter ruin. This, of course, he hasn't, and in the despair caused by the thought of his hopes for the future being crushed, he is about to yield to the temptation of appropriating a large amount of money left in care of the hotel proprietor by one of the guests, when his purpose is discovered by his sweetheart, whose influence saves him from the dishonorable act his desperation would have driven him to.

She is thrown out of the class after fighting with several of the members and goes home, where she fills the bathtub with water and proceeds to learn to swim. After the water is knee deep in the room, she also practices a little fancy diving. By this time the plaster has begun to fall on the floor below, where a card game is going on. The members of the family rush upstairs and find Sweedie having the time of her life. A riot call is sent in to the police, and when they arrive they find Sweedie holding off the entire family with a club. They all then chase her out of the house and finally capture her in the lake.
