El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie (2019)
A satisfying epilogue to the BrBa story
Breaking Bad is without a doubt the greatest TV show in history. One of a few things I would give a full on 10/10 to. However, the last few episodes of breaking bad we're centered on Walt, and that made sense, as Walt was the main character. Felina gave us closure on the story of Walter White, and now, El Camino gives us closure on the story of Jesse Pinkman. Is it anywhere near as good as BrBa? No, and I don't think it would've even been possible to get any movie up to that level of masterful storytelling. Is it necessary? No. Is it a welcome addition to a masterpiece of a franchise? Absolutely. Solid film, great characters, great cinematography, fantastic writing, and nostalgic fun. Only downside is that it doesn't entirely feel like it's in the same universe as breaking bad and better call Saul. It feels more like a fan fiction, but a very good one at that. Watch if you want, it's not necessary if you want to just leave what happens after felina to your imagination, but if you love these characters, I would definitely recommend this movie.
Inglourious Basterds (2009)
First Tarantino film I've seen, and I LOVED IT!
This movie was a perfect mix of historical fiction, action adventure, drama, and superb acting. The dialogue, world building, plot, and characters are all extraordinarily fun to watch and get invested in. Great film. I will definitely get into more of Tarantino's work.
The Weekend It Lives (1992)
An absolute cinematic masterpiece
This film is an absolute masterpiece. The sheer amount of quality this movie has is unparalleled. Not even Hitchcock himself could ever dream of creating such a terrifying yet character driven horror movie. The characters with the most development (Breakfast and DJ Slice Em Up Dice Em Up) are completely and utterly fantastic. Absolutely would recommend, mainly as a watch with friends.
