The Wire: Bad Dreams (2003)
Exceptional episode with one huge mistake
The only reason I didn't rate this episode 10/10, is Vondas's "Hungarian" passport. First of all, Janos Kovats is not a Hungarian name, it's supposed to be János Kovács. There is no Olaf Avenue in Budapest. At 'mother's name' it says only Nagy, which is only a surname. There are so many grammatical errors on the passport, that it would be easier to count the correct words. Some words are unrecognizable, the whole thing looks like gibberish.
I'm only upset by this because I'm Hungarian, and I'm a little offended be the lack of effort the creators put in the authenticity of this passport.
13 Reasons Why: Winter Break (2020)
Pointless and boring
Two dead characters returning to haunt Clay and Jessica is both boring and repetitive. Clay hasn't developed since season 2. His PTSD is understandable but boring and executed in a way we have seen in dozens of other shows. Ani and Alex are still terrible characters. Tyler is getting more and more irritating and repetitive. The acting is still not good enough.
Overall, I still don't know why this series wasn't cancelled after season 1.
Dead to Me: Where Have You Been (2020)
I mean come on
Did they really have to do this whole twin thing? I mean yeah they wanted to figure out a way to keep James Marsden in the show, but then why kill him off at the fist place? And this twin twist with the non-existent story, unfunny jokes and boring, repetitive tropes not only ruin this season, but they make sure that I will never re-watch season 1 either.
Dead to Me: You Know What You Did (2020)
Meh
Don't really see the point of this show anymore. It might get better but so far it's not working.
Dead to Me: I Have to Be Honest (2019)
Still disappointed
The big revelation was a lot less cathartic than I had expected. It was still a good enough scene with great acting but I can't help feeling a little let down. Still doesn't help the show, that now a downright hate Judy, and that somehow they managed to make Steve the bad guy for no apparent reason.
One good thing is that I can sympathize with Jen again.
Dead to Me: Try to Stop Me (2019)
Not as good as I thought it would be
I loved the first 6 episodes, but this one and the previous one show a drop of quality. It has become repetitive, sometimes even boring. Judy is starting to irritate me and it's getting mire and more difficult to sympathize with Jen. It not even as funny as it used to be. Though it's certainly not bad, I'm a bit disappointed.
Sons of Anarchy: Toil and Till (2014)
A little disappointed
I understand Jax's rage but the fact that he would go on a rampage, killing every Chinese man he can find, based on solely on Gemma's word is a bit unbelievable. I mean sure, his priorities have shifted because of Tara's death and the survival of the club has become secondary to him, sacrificing everything he achieved last season without making sure that the Chinese were really responsible for Tara's murder is still a bit out of character.
Speaking of out of character , how is Bobby okay with this? I mean he has always been the voice of reason in this show, and now he just consents, and actively participates in murdering two innocents. Unfortunately, though I still love this show, I have to admit that season 7 is no match for the previous seasons.
Sons of Anarchy: A Mother's Work (2013)
Much better on a re-watch
When I first watched the show I found season 6 a bit slow and boring and not particularly interesting. However, having watched it a second time, I can safely say that season 6 has become my second favorite season after season 4. The complex storylines and the emotional character drama make this season a compelling view. The deaths of Clay and Tara are executed perfectly, maybe Tara's death is a bit over the top in brutality. The acting is still top notch, Maggie Siff delivers her best performance on this show, gonna miss Ron Perlman though, his charisma added a lot this show.
Sons of Anarchy: Black Widower (2014)
Way too long and violent for my taste
So the main reason I'm a bit disappointed in the season opener is that, in my opinion, it's too long to be enjoyable. It felt dragged out and I couldn't help being a little bored during the episode, which had never happened to me before watching SoA. I know that the season 6 finale was even longer, but that episode had sufficient and interesting enough content to be enjoyable.
Secondly, the violence and brutality in this episode is too much even for someone like me, who normally doesn't have a problem with violence on TV. If it had advanced the plot somehow I would be justified somewhat, but it didn't. The explicit brutality in the opening and closing scenes feels a bit pointless and makes it hard to watch.
Sons of Anarchy: Laying Pipe (2012)
Rip to my absolute favorite
The episode was great, but Opie's death nearly made me quit the show. It was by far the saddest and most difficult to watch death in any TV show or movie I've ever seen. I don't think I'll ever forgive Kurt Sutter.
Westworld: Crisis Theory (2020)
The dumbest decision ever
Killing off William is probably the dumbest decision made by any showrunner ever.
Besides that there are the boring, dragged out and completely unrealistic fight scenes.
The "twists" were all predictable and not very great.
I hate how they massacred Bernard's and William's characters.
Serac started out as a great villain but in the end they completely wasted Vincent Cassle, just like Ed Harris and Jeffrey Wright this whole season.
Utterly disappointing.
