His Killer Fan (2021)
I Sussed That Josh Didn't Like Her!
He liked Ari's friend whose dad died. I could tell by his manner when they met. The other girl is quite stable so that would be attractive to Josh; while Ari is of course the opposite. I'm no expert at writing reviews so I will just leave this short lol. Ari is very severely mentally ill to say the least, very unstable. In real life, she would really need psychiatric help that's for sure. I hope she gets it.
Back to the Goode Life (2019)
Was Hoping For More Substance
Was hoping from the BET tv channel description that it would be like Working girl or Baby Boom somewhat based on the opening part of it. It was like pulling teeth to watch parts of it. A lot of the lingo I found hard to comprehend and some of the music I'm just not used to. I just felt the "substance" parts I was craving for was lacking and that a lot of the rest of it was "fluff". I guess it was just not my "cup of tea" as some say. I'm not good at writing reviews so just use your own judgment. I like that she got "every girl's wish"<for the most part - at the end and I was really happy that she helped someone in their business to be a success so those two things were positive for me. Like I said I'm not good at writing reviews so I guess that's all I have to say.
Little House on the Prairie: The Racoon (1974)
Jasper Saved Jacks Life!
I won't give a long review as others have gone into detail. Laura clearly fell in love with Jasper as a pet and was heartbroken when she thought her father killed him with the pitchfork. But near the end as Charles was about to shoot the dog Jack, Jasper appears just in the nick of time! But after Charles hurries up the ladder to the loft to tell Laura the good news that Jack is all right (and she also) after all, it kind of puzzles me that Jasper's not getting any petting! I guess I must be "missing something" as the saying goes. I still love the episode though.
Flowers for Algernon (2000)
Better than the Charly 1968 movie!
I will make this short. Lovely movie. Tastefully done. A real tear-jerker in spots.
Little House on the Prairie: Welcome to Olesonville (1982)
Mr Hanson's House?!
I'm watching this today July 29 2020 on Vision tv (Canada); and when they were talking about fixing up Mr Hanson's house I thought well didn't they fix it up for the blind school in an earlier season? Little House fandom website seems to think so. Came in here to see if any other fans of the show noticed this and was glad and gratified that most did! Do the writers just think we fans are stupid and/or forgetful?! - or are they just lazy and couldn't think of any other way to do the story? I have no other relevant comment(s) to make. Other than the above, I enjoyed the episode.
The Surrogacy Trap (2013)
Why didn't she just leave?!
Saw this movie tonight on CTV. What irks me is that in the fight scene near the end - after Mallory stomps on the cellphone, the other lady has 2 chances to just leave - to run out the door of the house and get away knowing Mallory would not hurt the child she believes is hers anyway - but (and this is stupid and reckless in my opinion) instead she pulls on Mallory first, and secondly she jumps on her and repeatedly hits or slaps her. Makes no sense at all and imo not very realistic as I believe in real life a person encountering someone like this would just want to get away from them when given the opportunity which Mallory's rival had.
Little House on the Prairie: Sylvia (Part Two) (1981)
Sad Episode With Mystery in Spots
I may edit this review as I think of other things to say. I won't elaborate for now at length of all the specifics of this heart-wrenching episode.
However, I would like to point out something in the goings on in the search for poor Sylvia hiding out at the Old Atkins Place:
When Albert is in the process of trying to obtain money for he and Sylvia to travel away with, and Hartwig the rapist catches him in the process, after Albert tells him his plans, what does Hartwig offer to do?
He tells Albert he will feed and water Albert's horse and put another one with it for Sylvia to travel on. This actually of course lengthens the time Albert took (15 minutes prior to Charles and Hector's asking Mrs. Oleson of Albert's whereabouts) to get home to get the supplies and leave the note. While it gives the rapist both time (and perhaps the means - Albert's horse - since when Albert came back to the blacksmith place, the horse was nowhere around!) to get to the old Atkins' place to attempt a second attack on poor dear Sylvia.
Just my two cents and take on the episode since most have given more details on this sad story.
It is indeed a very heartbreaking tale, and when I first watched it when I was about 17, I was very very sorry that Sylvia had died which made me feel very intensely emotional since at the time there was a death in my family also.
The Kids of Degrassi Street: Martin Hears the Music (1985)
Really Great Episode
The Kids of Degrassi Street is in my opinion the best of the Degrassi shows. This is a really good episode about wanting to be treated the same as the others. A bonus is the girl who plays Nancy on Degrassi Jr/Degrassi High has a really nice singing voice. If you haven't watched these older Degrassi episodes I highly recommend them.
X-Weighted (2006)
Fitness Assessment
This was one of the first physical fitness/weight loss reality shows I watched years ago. Paul Plakas helps various people (single persons or families) get fit and lose weight through exercise and healthy eating. He interviews them to find out their goals, puts them through a physical fitness test to get a baseline of that plus a weigh-in. They have to change their lifestyle - exercise and eat healthy foods. Then there is a halfway point weigh-in and then they continue on with diet and exercise until the second fitness test (same as baseline) to see if they've improved plus a final weigh-in and wrap up. It's one of my favourite weight loss reality tv shows. I recommend it highly. It's off the air now. It was on the One: Body, Mind, and Spirit channel a year or two ago (I'm not sure if it's on there now or not); but there are some episodes on you tube if anyone's interested.
