Time Commanders: Hastings (2005)
Tactical Geniuses on Accident
The team this week, commanding the Norman army, used a tactic known as a feigned retreat to draw units out of the safety of the Saxon shield wall. However, they clearly had no idea what they were doing, as they did not exploit the gaping hole using their cavalry to get behind the Saxon line and crush it.
Still an awesome show.
Time Commanders: Hydaspes (2005)
Great Start, Bad Follow Through
This team of soldiers were really calm under fire. They communicated well and they put their military training to good use. However, they failed to grasp the vulnerabilities of the phalanx. The flanks are weak and must be protected. During the main battle, the team allowed an entire unit of 40 elephants to get around behind them and wreck their infantry, the backbone of their army. After that, it was over. Their initial cavalry attack was successful, but lost all momentum after the charge through the elephants. There were too few cavalrymen left to do any good in the rear of the Indian army.
This show is awesome!
Time Commanders: Watling Street (2003)
Tutorial on how not to fight a battle
This team of political consultants had no clue what they were doing. They gave away the high ground and their army got wasted because of it. Fantastic show though.
