Koala Man (2023)
Hilarious
About time we had something like this. The septics (not a typo) might not get some of the cultural references, but it's just a great caricature of small town, lower middle Australia. And the characters are very relatable. It's kind of a spin off of Damo and Darren, which is kinda cool in itself, that was always going somewhere, and to see Justin Roiland in the mix is exciting. I'm shocked, I'd honestly expected after watching Season One to see a score of 8.2 or more, but I get it, some of us just have our artistic appreciation glands in our colons, and that's OK. All in all, bravo, great job, actually 9.5 out of ten but rounded up.
Black Earth Rising (2018)
Good
Entertaining. Strong characters are sometimes uncharacteristically prone to victim mentality. Probably the worst musical score I've ever seen on an otherwise very good production, but perhaps that comes down to taste, although mine's eclectic as it gets. But certainly gets to the heart of a very disturbing chapter in history. Remorseful and empathic psychopaths seem to exist in the series, which is where it takes its only slight detour from realism. All in all - good.

Tangent Room (2017)
Kinda ok, spoiler alerts
I think you need a very curious mind and an interest in quantum science (I'm not saying you need to he a genius) to appreciate the movie. I think the ending absolutely should have shown us a glimpse of the new universe, rather than left it to our imaginations, for the sake of many types of viewers. Underrated in my opinion, clever premise, perhaps would've made a much better book, and the acting wasn't fantastic, but not terrible. It achieved a relative lot on a clearly very low budget, I'm guessing it breaks some low budget records.
Messiah (2020)
Absolutely brilliant
Full of amazing twists, gripping suspense, incredible acting, brilliant storytelling. Truly unique. One of the true gems of our time.
The Child Remains (2017)
Pretty good
Well acted, eerie, and a good combination of Amytiville Horror and The Shining type of movies.
Very surprised to see such poor reviews, for an up and coming filmmaker as I suppose this was, it was a good movie, in the most difficult genre to make a good movie. I had decided not to see the reviews before watching it and I'm glad didn't.
Good acting, perhaps the story was a little predictable, but good as well. Great photography. Not sure about the dual outcome at the end.
Rise (2014)
Worst acting ever
Sounds like primary school kids reading it off a piece of paper.
It disgusts me that an Aussie movie like this, such a serious subject, based on a true, emotive story, was butchered by terrible, unbelievable acting.
Would have made a great book - As for the movie? FAIL.
The Iron Lady (2011)
I nominate for the 'Best Actress in a terrible movie' award
It focuses too much on her deterioration and not nearly enough on her backstory, childhood and history. It humanises her, but probably inaccurately - I am not saying she's not human, but my best guess is the character is not at all well captured. And the decline - it was cliched and way too prolonged - and it just missed the point. EPIC Fail, but great performance by Streep.
A Prayer Before Dawn (2017)
Gripping and relentless.
Brutal, multidimensional, powerful and raw, this is a one of a kind event, indistinguishable from reality in every way. Truly mesmerising and utterly convincing, one can only imagine it might be the truest 'true story' one mat ever view. An inspiring story of the power of human resilience against all odds, any critic not giving this film the perfect summary it deserves is either pretentious, ignorant to art, or, more forgivable, utterly out of touch with the dark side of the world.
