Avatar: The Way of Water (2022)
What going to a theater should be about.
Yes this was a simple story. Yes this had cliched and one dimensional characters. But you know what, I don't care. I don't remember the last time I felt that inside a movie theater.
James Cameron does it again. Avatar 2 is a visually stunning masterpiece. Jake and his family will make you root for them. You will laugh and cry. This movie makes you face humanities worst but also shows you humanity should be about.
For 3 hours I was lost in another world and forgot everything else. What a phenomenal experience. You are not doing this movie justice if you are not watching it in IMAX 3D. Ignore the reviews and go watch it.
Dune (2021)
Stunning
Dune is a Masterpiece. It's visually stunning. It's got great acting. Granted it's a more faithful adaptation of the movie than the books (as other reviewers have mentioned). It does a great job of capturing life on that fictional planet.
Reviewers complaining about the story leading to no where seem to forget that it's not about the ending but the journey. Although the characters visions do tell us where the story is heading.
If you are a sci-fi fan or a fan of stunning visuals this is a must watch in I-Max. Your tv is not going to do justice.
Vakeel Saab (2021)
It's bad. Like really bad.
It's as if the story writers watched pink and went "Hmm you know what this needs. Patriarchy". It's no longer about how women fought for justice but how a big strong man gave them justice.
Don't waste your time. It's not worth it.
Another Life (2019)
And they renewed this ? ?
What could have been an interesting theme. Ends up being a drama with a bunch of emotional misfits. You are telling me that the governments on earth put together this mission and these are the only people they could find ?
Bunch of whiny 20 something year old's who cannot control their own emotions. I mean come on. Also let's be honest, this is a futuristic ship that can travel FTL but the inside of a ship is filled with metal pipes and pressure gauges (?).
Who writes this stuff. I am upset that some one paid for this show and I wasted a couple of hours watching this. It upsets me more that some one at Netflix saw this and decided they wanted a second season.
Waco (2018)
Could not be more biased.
Watching this series knowing the story of Waco has been infuriating. Its almost like the screen play writers have approached the problem with a view and only picked the facts that support their view.
There are glaring ommisions such as testimoy from other survivors. Counter evidence that disproves some events as told in this story is not considered. The first episode sets the tone for the entire series , ATF and FBI bad. No one is going to argue that there were mistakes made, but this series is so one sided its almost as if the NRA paid to get this produced.
2 stars because the actors did do a good job.
Arjun Reddy (2017)
This is a great movie.
If I would describe this movie in one word. I would describe it as RAW. Raw emotions, Raw anger, Raw jealousy. You would feel it , you would be involved in it. Props to the director and the actor Vijay Deverakonda who plays Arjun reddy. Their brilliance makes this movie amazing. A master piece in its own right to the Telugu cinema industry. The story line is believable, the characters while extreme at times come back as real people with their own flaws. While there wasn't enough depth to shalini pandey's character, It makes sense to not have it as the movie wasn't about her character.
The direction is top notch. Im not a big fan of the background score but it wasn't distracting and kept me involved at the right times. Props to the actor Rahul Ramakrishna who played Shiva. We are you sometimes, in the movie, with your reaction matching mine.
In an industry stale by big names, the same directors. Which prints out the same old move with a "twist". This is a refreshing change.
