Formula 1: Drive to Survive: Tipping Point (2022)
Maverick say "Yeahh!"
Laughed when I heard an obvious American "Yeah!" amongst all the Brits when Hamilton passed Le Clerc, then noticed it was Tom Cruise in the Mercedes corner. I bet he refused Netflix rights to film him or be interviewed. But it shows which driver wins the F1 popularity contest.
The British media can ruin just about anything, even if Hamilton's actions were justifiable, they really don't help his point the way they manipulate the narrative. Got so sick of that in football that I just stopped watching English soccer altogether. Do the show runners really think the audience are still believing whatever Willy Buxton says? The man is a joke.
Heavenly Creatures (1994)
Beautifully made fever dream of a film..
Beautifully made fever dream of a film that I would prefer not to watch ever again. Like 'A Clockwork Orange', it's highly disturbing at times but plays out whimsically which confuses the viewer even more. The imagery stays in the mind long after the credits roll, and while I appreciate the superb filmmaking it's just not my cup of tea.
Ojing-eo geim: VIPS (2021)
Let's talk about the casting of those VIPS...
Up to this episode the entire production has been stellar!
But let's talk about the casting of those VIPS...
Damn, it made me cringe every time they spoke. Poor writing, dialogue and awful acting (by the English speaking VIPS) really let the show down. Asian cinema always seems to taint their own brilliant actors by casting some D-grade foreign extras based in country. If it's some legal issue with hiring actors outside their region, then they should sort all that out beforehand. Did Netflix even consult with the Korean team on these matters? It literally feels like they found some caucasian men on the street and offered them roles.
Love at the Shore (2017)
Queue triumphant unearned music..
Hallmark movie indeed - incredibly bad! No idea why it's so well rated here. When the child actors hold a scene better than the leads, it really isn't promising. Felt like a 12 year old girl wrote this script.
Person of Interest (2011)
Ends at season 2
The moment Sarah Shahi's character 'Sameen' is introduced is the when this show lost the plot. It was enjoyable up to that point. I don't know who made the decision to add her in, but everything after that didn't feel believable at all. It's like they had everything perfectly tuned then some big exec thought "hey let's add a Michelle Rodrigues type macho female role to give us one liners and stir things up". Sigh, and to think the Nolan name is on the program. So glad it ended but I never made it all the way to the final episodes.
The Alienist: Angel of Darkness: Ex Ore Infantium (2020)
Unnecessary introduction
I enjoyed everything besides Sara's over the top introduction.
Much more use of CGI now that they're showing more of the 1800's New York City.
The Alienist: Angel of Darkness: Something Wicked (2020)
Nitpicking
This new macho Sara angle is becoming a bit annoying and unrealistic. You'd never doubt any scene in the first season, but these sprinklings of girl power are so obvious it's cringeworthy.
The Boys: Cherry (2019)
Favourite scene
Upon second viewing, I changed my rating from an 8 to a 9 for this episode. That scene in a backroom of "Tony Cisero's" when Hughie gets to know Frenchie was so captivating and amazing performed. Pure class.
"It's like scars in a way, you know?"
Indian Matchmaking: Just Find Me Someone! (2020)
She said what?!
"Srini the loser". It really made my blood boil when Aparna's tyrannical mom said that. Highty-tighty much.
Tiger King: The Tiger King and I (2020)
Not as bad as people are making this out to be
Not as bad as people are making this out to be. Joel did what he could as an interviewer working remotely over a phone. Maybe because of that there was some misunderstanding between him and John Finlay when he asks if there's any tattoo placeholders for his kid - I'm sure Joel was referring to tattoos of John's kid and not tattoos on the kid itself. But I can see how some would see that as Joel being rude. I'm glad we got to hear from some of the key "cast members". And they all seem like much better people than portrayed in the show. Notably absent are Doc Antle and Carol Baskin. But then again if you look at any of Big Cat Rescue's social media: Facebook or Google reviews, it's quite obvious that they are censoring anything negative and deleting comments. They obviously regret being on the show.
