Winter's Bone (2010)
The film that launched her career
I remember seeing this at Sundance. Everyone in the room knew she was going to be a megastar after watching as you root for her to overcome the harsh reality growing up in the Ozarks.
Don't Look Up (2021)
Watched it just to watch it
Good to poke fun of how we are, but I think too cynical to make people truly care about global warming or how we are reacting to today's problems. You know the ending which I did not need to see.
The Silent Sea (2021)
Original enough
A unique take on the Alien movie, but maybe not different enough to make this great. Certainly better than a lot of titles on Netflix recently. Worth giving a go if you crave watching sci-fi.
Snowpiercer (2020)
Enjoyable, but lost interest in later seasons
There's a lot of good stuff to like in snowpiercer. It's just that they seem to drag out what happens for too long. Well produced, Good twists and overall worth a watch if you like the concept.
Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017)
Butchers the tone, set ups, and characters
Rian Johnson is great with the visuals and a good director, but he butchers the tone, set ups, characters and more. Frustrating to see all the artistic talent from the others put to waste. Aggghh!!!! Just not the right project for him. It needed a fan of the franchise to be the director!
Star Trek: Picard (2020)
I love seeing Picard Return!!!
Hands down, the best, best, best Captain! The Gravitas.
I miss Next Generation so much and wish Gene was still at the helm.
Can't wait to see the other characters appear in future seasons!
Always (2015)
I was moved emotionally.
There was another movie that came out around the same time "Already Tomorrow in Hong Kong" and 2+ reviewers overtly mention it in comparison slamming this film who are blatantly from their crew. The lack of integrity of these individual(s) is appalling.
I enjoyed this movie. It was good. I'm not a movie reviewer but since I saw the Paramount release sign in the movie while watching it, I assume other movie people thought it was good too. Anyways, it's just a movie but feel compelled to write this because I was moved emotionally watching it.
